day -4: The seeds were put into starter cubes and then placed into my germination box, which rests on top of a heatmap.
day 1: One of the two seeds is showing first signs of life, so the diary was started. For the time being they stay inside the heated germination box under a 15W Sansi grow LED. Once the second one comes out and they are a bit taller, they will get transplanted into 7 liter (2 gallon) grow bags with unfertilized Plagron, which has been mixed with perlite and 25 grams of RQS Easy boost organic nutrition.
day 2: I transplanted the one that came out into a 7 liter grow bag and put her into the veg/auto-flower tent. The second one did not come out yet, so just in case she won't make it, I started germinating another seed by putting it into a grow bag.
day 5: she is coming along nicely and are only getting a small amount of RO water at this point
day 7: the newly planted seed germinated and decided to say hello as well..
day 8: start of week 2 - yesterday i switched from RO water only to add some calmag as well
day 10: the bigger of the two shows some deformation and yellowing, but interestingly at the veins and not interveinal chlorosis (yellowing between the veins).. when it was just coming out of the seedshell it was quite yellow as well already, and the first set of leaves was immediately 3-leaved, so not sure it this is something genetic or not.. the other plants that are treated the same way show no such signs.. we’ll see how this turns out
day 13: while the new seed looks strong and healthy, the old one started to look worse.. i will keep it though and see how it evolves
day 15: start of another new week.. time passes so quickly.
The older one seems to continue to show erratic behavior, but as long as she grows (which she does), i keep her.
The younger of the two (was germinated a week later, so she’s now starting week 2) looks fine.
day 16: they got 500ml RO water with calmag, but this time i also added some RQS easy grow booster
day 18: the taller one starts looking worse and worse, and i’m not sure if it makes sense keeping her.. it seems as if there are no side branches either.. the younger one is all fine
day 20: did some lst with the smaller one (the
healthy one)
day 22: a new week started again.. the first still shows strange behavior, but it does grow, so i still keep it.. the second one looks perfectly normal, like she should
day 24: while rearranging the lst yesterday, i mistakenly bent the stem of the smaller one a bit, so that’s now more of a supercropping than lst.. let’s see how she recovers
day 28: i will shift this diary to the healthy plant, that's 6 days younger, so this will now be day 22 instead.. i don't have too much hope for the older one to get better in any way..
day 25: they currently get around 500ml RO water with calmag every 2-3 days
day 28: they got RO water with calmag and some RQS Booster bloom
day 29: given the ladies in the tent started flowering already, I removed the erratic one.. just to be on the safe side.. not that due to its state it gets too stressed out, starts producing pollen and then pollinates the others.
that’s of course not something i want happening.
day 35: so far so good.. she seems to be doing well
day 36: yesterday she got watered with around 2/3rd of a liter of RO water with calmag and RQS bloom booster..
day 37: i added a bit of GHE Flora to the watering, as the lower leaves were already starting to turn yellow from an N deficiency
day 43: a new week and everything seems to go well..
day 45: todays feeding was 666ml (approximately) of RO water with calmag, GHE Flora bloom nutrients and some RQS bloom booster
day 49: did some light defoliation of the yellow leaves and removed some of the dead leaves as well
day 50 and another week is starting.. i noticed that she is getting a bit yellower on the older leaves and given that i had a bit of a longer non-watering period than usual (4 days of no water instead of the regular 2 to 3 days), i added a bit more nutrients today
day 53: some watering and light defoliation today
new week on day 57.. i added some more nutrients the last feeding as she’s gotten a bit lighter on some of the older leaves, but other than that she’s looking fine..
day 64 marks the beginning of a new week.. not many more to come, but it’s still going to take a little while
day 66: i started adding some of the GHE nutrients, as she’s getting into her mid-late bloom phase and i definitely don’t want to starve her now.. the leaves show a bit too much of deficiency symptoms for my taste as the RQS nutrients that were put into the soil at the start are running out now..
day 71: everything still going according to plan.. i am looking forward to how she will behave in the upcoming time to see how much she will fatten up, but she’s already beautiful
day 78: she’s still looking good and is getting closer and closer to harvest, but i am sure it will still take a little while..
day 81: everything seems to be going fine.. just waiting on some of those trichomes to turn amber
day 85: hard to believe, but another week has passed by already.. at this point there’s not much to say, as i’m just waiting on the trichomes to turn amber..
day 92: she should be almost ready.. at this point i am just waiting for more of the trichomes to turn amber and then she will be cut..
so it’s just a matter of days until she is done..
I know i’ve said it before, but now it’ll really just take a few more days.. it’s day 99 and yesterday i noticed the first amber trichomes.. the change seems to go fast as today around noon i had the feeling that there were quite some more that had turned amber.. I will give it a few days, but i’m pretty sure that she’ll be harvested this weekend.
just harvested her on day 101..
trichomes on some areas were already at the amber-level i wanted them to be..
growing went quite well, after a smal hickup at the start with the other two seeds.. nonetheless this one did quite well afterwards, so still 8 stars..
now drying, then curing, then smoking ;)
