New beginnings on these girls!! I'm curing my monster yielding cream cookies by fastbuds, and looking forward to seeing how these purple lemonade turn out! I normally use CocoLoco, this grow I'm running a batch of Ocean forest. Ran across it at a great deal, and figured I'd give it a run. I typically do not feed for 30 days with my cocoloco, so I'm gonna give that a while with this batch also!
Transplant day!!!!
Transplanted my 5 Purple lemonade ladies from solo cups, to 5 gallon grow bags! Today is day 14 and they had a fantastic root system. (Attached a photo).
I am running FFOF this run, with 20% perlite added to the mix. I will not be running any nutes until probably week 5, as fox farms comes ready to go. This will be my first run with Ocean forest. My normal medium is Cocoloco by bushdoctor.
I top dressed these girls with around 2 inches of cocoloco from a previous grow, to keep the gnats and bugs down. They dont mess with the cocoloco, I'm in Hope's that the couple inches of that on top will help with this also.
They will veg under a 4ft, 8 bulb T5 Light.
Very explosive week of growth here!!
The plants more than doubled in size in 7 days. We reached 5 nodes, and 9 inches tall, TIME TO LST!! Used my garden staples and bent the main stalk of each of these girls over, so that light can Penetrate to the bottom nodes and bud sites. So far, everything is looking fantastic. We're 21 days in, and rolling onward!! Expect monster growth this coming week! And possibly even the first sign of flower!
Still no nutrients. Growing in FFOF they will be good to go for a bit. I will introduce the first light feeding around 35 days from seed.
Happy growing everyone!
Early flowering on these pretty ladies!!! And deep purple within the buds!
These started showing flowers at around 23 days. Which is a touch earlier than id like. However, we will roll with it!
All 5 started showing the same day, so I'm positive its genetic with these purple lemonade.
The plants had some impressive growth this week, and I fed them a light dose of nutrients as well. Around 400ppm.
They took it in stride, and showed zero ill effects.
So far, these have been very easy to grow. Im looking forward to seeing the bud development in this strain. The have developed a very fruity smell all their own.
I have taken and posted several photos from throughout the week of my LST training method. I use 6 inch garden staples from Amazon, they work very well.
Very nice trichome development on these ladies already in week 4!
Heavy LST on these ladies. Flowering pretty well now! Makes me think these plants are gonna stay a touch smaller. Were sitting at the 37 day mark today. Just about to hit the stretch. Veey much looking forward to seeing the beautiful purple! The frosting and smell is amazing. Literally smells exactly like sweet tarts.
Super excited for this strain! Will introduce heavier nutrients this week for the first time. Will be feeding on a veg schedule even tho they are flowring, for a bit, to promote some extra size before I switch to flower nutes.
They are 1 week from being moved to the HPS 1000 WATT hood.⁰
The smell.... amazing...
Looks like I have ended up with 3 purple phenos and 2 green phenos out of these 5!
These are stacking up nicely, however, they seem like they will end up being smaller plants than im used to. Just kind of staying low and slow.
They have a long ways to go, so ya never know! They may gain some size, but they better do it soon! These ladies hit the HPS light this week, at 750 watts. So we will see!
Some BEAUTIFUL purple flower!
Slight defoliation this week. These plants are absolutely breathtaking. However, these will be low yield plants.
I normally yield an average of a qp on my auto flowers, I look for these to be around 2 ounces per plant. Maybe.
I normally grow in coco loco by Bush doctor. This grow is in FFOF.
But i also went to 5 gallon pots this time, usually i run 3 gallon. This leads me to believe for sure. That this is genetic.
Looking forward to the finished product here however, as this looks amazing, and smells like candy.
These ladies are doing mighty fine! The smell is unreal! Almost like walking into a candy shop! The color, cannot be better.
I do have 3 purple phenos and 2 green. But even the green phenos have alot of purple. Gonna be a some beautiful stuff to say the least.
Noticing some minor foxtailing on one, has ro be genetic. The environment is on point.
Intoduced Big bud supplement to them this week, and they seem to love it so far..
Buds made some steps in the right direction this week.
These are some odd little plants. Beautidul bud. Terpene profile is off the charts. But small, dwarf like plants. Not sure what the deal is, first time I have ever encountered that with any autos. It will be some top notch flower however.
Also, 3 of the plants have nice thick chunky, beautiful purple buds.
2 of the plants are a different phenotype and aren't as purple. And are foxtailing pretty hard. It is not an environment issue, definitely genetics.
All plants are under 100% the same conditions with the same feed, and same lights.
These girls are getting close, I added a trichome photo, were looking at mostly cloudy now. I will let them go to about 10% amber since it's already a heavy indica strain.
This run of purple lemonade has its good, and bad. The finished product is some of the very best I have ever had in my life. Beautiful, dense, qnd very aromatic.
However, this strain was a VERY low yielder. The lowest of any I have ever grown. Conditions were on point. Product is more than on point. Yield, is very disappointing.
Ended up with only 3 ounces total from 5 plants.
Way below my average.
I likely will not grow this strain again. But would highly reccomend it to anyone looking for super top shelf, just for personal use.
It truly is amazing bud.
The grow was simple. They handled nutrients well. Seemed very geat resistant.
Plants stayed bery small from the get go, and showed flower extremely early on, around 14 days.
Leading to the miniature plants.
*disclaimer
This was my first go with Fox farms ocean forest and will be my last. I encountered 0 issues with the soil. However, being I yielded so light, I have went back to my normal medium, which is Coco Loco by bushdoctor.
My next run is only 33 days old and already 3 times larger than the purple lemonade were at harvest.
See my (blue dream, and, Gg4) grows.
