So my prototype cobs are here , bridgelux v8 150 watt , running all off 320 watt driver , approx 50 watts each , with a dimmer ,I have these so I can upgrade if a better driver , the penetration is something else , get yourself a lux meter ( yeah I know par an all ) test an HPS , if it gives you 10,000 lux at 6 feet -👍

Firstly they run so cool , quite unbelievable, the light doesn't even look very intense , but it is , I have a spectrum king , but it's too focussed in the middle , these are ideal , I just can actually believe these yet , give me a few grows and we can see once and for all , but I will add , these are not cheap .

It's all very exciting , colour is 3500k
I thought I would share this with you all - it will be a while before I can start using them as I'm still waiting for some heatsinks from China , this was testing today

getting bigger still.....the active boost makes the froth on the top of the water - this is a good thing ,as the roots are effectively sitting in a nutrient / air mix - please don't complain about it lol
dragonforcing to full effect, cant believe how green and healthy this plant is, going to use Shogun Nutrients from now on, Buds are big, 2 litre soda bottle big....smell is fantastic, im so glad i grew this one !!!

Lux ... PAR ... whatever, light is just photons hitting a surface.
I recognize that you are breaking records compare to HID’s ... but as you said, you have to try it now 😉 In my opinion, this is a lot of light bro, it might be too much photons even if temperature stays cool at max settings. You might need an IR gun to check leaves temperatures with that equipment.
I can’t wait to see it running. I really like the economical part, saving energy is important 👍

@Kvothe, ah thats good. yeah sometimes i see a collection of hairs that shoot out in a clump that can look like the start of bananas at one point in my past grows.
