I threw some diatomaceous earth down to protect against bugs and then being the noob that I am I watered the medium. It's a little early but I started Lst this week and gave them a small dose of nutes
Plant 4 seems to be growing a little bit quicker than all the rest. I snapped a fan leaf on plant 1 while I was doing some LST, not ideal but im hoping she wont miss it. Gave the plants another small dose of nutes.
So I've noticed the tips of my leaves are starting to curl. I'm pretty sure I gave them nutes too soon so I will be laying off nutes for a while.
This week the plants are starting to flower but it was a bit rough for me and the plants. I ended up accidentally topping plant number 1 while trying to do some LST on it and the plants are still trying to recover from my overfeeding.
Don't be fooled by the nice looking flowers, I'm definitely having a bit of trouble here. I've got something going on with them that I can't quite figure out. I know there was a nitrogen toxicity but I feel like there is something else going on. Any input or opinions are welcomed.
Tested the pH of the runoff and saw that it was 5.0 so I continued to water the plant while using a small dose of a liquid nutes until I had a runoff of 6.3. I did some LST for the last time just to increase the light to some of the inner bud sites. Also did a bit of defoliation
Moved the light too close to the plants too quick and now the plants are foxtailing. The colour on these buds is unreal. I can't wait to harvest but I'm going to be patient and let them bulk up
Overall it was a good first grow. I would have liked more of a yeild but I put that on my inexperience. The smell of the buds initially hits as fruity but that is soon followed by a strong gassy smell.
I ended up losing half of one plant during the drying process due to mold. Had my fan on low and didn't have the oscillating feature on. Luckily I caught it before it was too late and was able to trim away the buds that had mould and any that were close. I probably disposed of more than I needed to but I wanted to be safe.
