Here I am again with another diary where I will try to apply Nebula's mainlining manifold with 8 colas. I've been reading a lot about mainlining over the last months I hope I can have a great harvest. The plan is to do 6-7 weeks of vegetation and 8-9 weeks of flowering. I have upgraded my set-up with a grow tent 20x32x62", it is a perfect fit in my closet. I got a 440 cfm exhaust fan and a carbon air filter, I am also using my 4" exhaust as inline fan. I will be feeding the plant with the NutriNPK brand which is a powder nutrient, and CalMag from General Hydroponics. I won't give any nutrient until week 3 of vegetation. NutriNPK have a specific feeding schedule that I want to follow scrupulously. The first feeding is for Max Growth 23-15-11, then week 6-7 switch to flowering with Bloom Booster 0-50-32 for 2 weeks, then Bigger Buds 0-18-36 for 4 weeks and Bloom Booster for 2 weeks then flusing. I spent hours on the web to buy the best growing media and Happy Frog potting soil from FoxFarm seems to lead in that area based on what I've read so far. Some reviews said they would add a little bit more permits and worm casting so I add some. Third I will shock the plant with some pretty serious stress when I start the mainlining training like Nugbucket did. I want to fully switch to flowering in week 6-7 which leave me with week 3, 4, 5 and 6 for training. From the third day of week 5 I will start to decrease the amount of hours of light by 30 minutes everyday Vegetation week 1 The first week was crazy hot outside and I don't have a cooling system (I wasn't prepared for these high temperature this summer). The seed took 2 days to sprout out in a wet paper towel. Then I putted in a Jiffy pellets for the germination in a homemade germination dome. The temperature in the dome was between 27°C and 29°C, RH between 80% and 90%. 2 days later I planted the sprout within the pellet in a plastic cup with a lid with the idea to keep RH above 60%. Unfortunately the heat in the tent has reached 33°C this week not really an ideal condition for the completion of the germination process and the cotyledons got burnt. The growth has stopped because of the damaged cotyledons,Il stared water it with coconut water to jump start it back and refreshment until week 3 where I will the nutrient schedule

Still hot in there but less than last week, the 3 leaflets are finally growing after The temperature shock. I feel that she is a little bit small but she has already the third node and growing a fourth. I will probably do the transplantation next week. In the meantime i am providing the seedling some coconut water with distilled water and CalMag, this should stimulate the roots and support the plant against the high temperature (28°C to 29°C right now). As I have other plants in the tent and because of the slow growing I decided to increase the light to 20hrs (20/4). I have to really pay attention to how she's reacting to the longer light exposure day after day. I put her in a bigger cup until transplantation.. depend on when i could see the roots come out of the holes or see the root bounding around. I am starting the nutrients in a couple of days from now together with that i will keep on feed the plant with coconut water (20ml/L) aloe vera gel (20ml/L) with distilled water (1L) and CalMag (1ml/L) as micro-nutrients, around 2 or 3 days after I'd give her nutrients

So weird situation here, she is light green and look fragile, the nodes are pretty close to each other which makes her look really short but she seems super healthy despite the high temperatures (again 😤🤦‍♂️🏿). I have a hudmidifier in the tent so I am putting cold water in the tank to cool the temperature in there but still to high for a young plant. I just started to feed her with the Max Growth for NutriNPK once a week like the feeding chart mentioned, besides I am giving her coconut water (20ml/L) aloe vera gel (20ml/L) with distilled water (1L) and CalMag (1ml/L) as micro-nutrients. In a couple of days I should receive Rapidstart from General Hydroponics to enhance the roots growth and increase the nutrients uptake as I want to follow the feeding chart from NutriNPK to not f****d up the plant with a nutrients saturation. I might use Great White from PlantSucces if I'm not successful with Rapidstart. Looking at the overall growth of the plant I might have to extend the vegetation by 1 or 2 weeks which would bring me to a 7 or 8 weeks of vegetation. 🌱🖖🏿👨‍🌾🏿

The temperature are better the end of the week, I increase the light from 280 to 550 watts although the week began with 35°C some leaves got burnt light burnt + heat stress. I read that Aloe Vera is a "nutrient accumulator and works well when foliar sprayed onto plant leaves just before sunlight and helps protect against disease and environmental stress" I am combining it with liquid Kelp from Rocket Fuel it also contains salmon 🤔🤦‍♂️🏿(15ml/L) so here she is after a couple foliar spray sessions, I can see a significant improvement on the leaves and how stronger they look like now. I am still give herher RapidStart for the entire vegetative stage because of the training, transplant stress she will be facing and i will probably stop it 1 or 2 weeks after switch to 12/12. Today I am transplanting her to a 3 gallon smart pot and, she has now 6 node and the 7th is showing hiself To avoid any transplant shock or stress 2 days ago I gave her liquid Kelp and fish fertilizer. I am starting the mainlining training with topping to the third node (unfortunately the node with the damaged leaves) I removed the extra growth below it. We will see how in the next weekly update.. Stay tuned. 🌱🖖🏿👨‍🌾🏿

Summer is super warm and not windy. I have a humidifier, i am foliar spraying her with aloe vera and liquid kelp but unfortunately the 3rd node leaves are already burnt. How can i make sure the leaves will still help her going through the mainlining training stress properly?

might be a root zone problem. Heat won't cause those spots. if you don't let top 1" dry, start doing so.. 20% runoff waste and repeat. avoids buildup, keeps roots happy. I am not familiar with your ferts, but if you can look into their labels and deduce PPM of what you feed is in a normal range, this is my best guess.. and just a guess. do google and look for more info in addition to questions here. (also, not elgible for the GotM contest, so if you like my solution, do give the 'answer' to someone else, please)

I switched to flowering 2 days ago. On the defoliation side of the training, when there are grow tips that are growing from an under node, do i keep them or do i remove them? I don't want any larfy buds and i want the plant to focus into the 8 mainlined colas

Yes you can defoliate and prune up to about 3 weeks into flower. I Usually leaf strip then about 20 days in I'll prune all the larfy weak nodes underneath. This focuses all the light on top of the plant giving you some sexy buds with no popcorn buds underneath. I learnt this the hard way lol check my diary if you need any help . I mainline

First full week in the flowering stage, I tighted down couple of stems to make sure each one of the colas at the end up the same height and same weight/fatness. I did feed her, for couple of days, with a "transition period" nutrient schedule to trigger/activate the flowering process. I also brought the light a bit closer down a day ago to increase the light penetration and trying to take advantage the most of schwazzing technic. I am alternating between organic and synthetic nutrients she seems to enjoy it and her sister too. she is almost the same height than her sister almost 4 weeks older, i need to find tomato rings or i might have to diy o e smh. Second week of flowering, I'm loving my tent and my outflow and recycled air, let me explain. As my tent is in a bull-in closet the temperature can be super high for the season and drop pretty low at night time as well, which is really great because the variation is constantly the same with 29° light times(12hrs) and 24° dark times(12hrs). The plant is pretty well settled in now, probably 10 days of stretch to go still. The smell is weak co pare to her sister. The previous week I was wondering if I should do something with the bonemeal I digged 6 holes a inch each then I spreaded 1/3 cup of boneemeal in the holes and on top of the soil. I raked the soil together with the bonemeal. I slowly watered the plant. She is almost 4 weeks younger than my other Chocolope but she is keeping up, her stretch is more important than the other plant and I tried to make sure each colas received enough light but she is really thirsty. The 4 main colas are starting to distinguish themselves from the rest of the crop. Happy growing🌾👨‍🌾🏿🖖🏿

Third week of flowering, I did the second and last schwazzing I was quite scared but after reading and watch all the reviand diaries I went light on her as her stems are still a bit weak and she seems to have some stretching to offer. 3days after the last schwazzing she she's already back on track, new leaves are coming and the flowers are booming. i can't wait to see her get strong I feel she has better to offer still. I increased the amount of watering from 0.75l to almost double, 1.25l, and spaced the watering from 2 to 3 days. Although she seem thirsty but I don't want to be over watering her and have deoopy leaves like her sister few weeks ago. She has a sweet fruity smell I remember that strain to be know nda coffee/chocolate type of smell... Time will tell Happy growing 👨‍🌾🏿🌿🌻
