The temperature are better the end of the week, I increase the light from 280 to 550 watts although the week began with 35°C some leaves got burnt light burnt + heat stress. I read that Aloe Vera is a "nutrient accumulator and works well when foliar sprayed onto plant leaves just before sunlight and helps protect against disease and environmental stress" I am combining it with liquid Kelp from Rocket Fuel it also contains salmon 🤔🤦‍♂️🏿(15ml/L) so here she is after a couple foliar spray sessions, I can see a significant improvement on the leaves and how stronger they look like now. I am still give herher RapidStart for the entire vegetative stage because of the training, transplant stress she will be facing and i will probably stop it 1 or 2 weeks after switch to 12/12. Today I am transplanting her to a 3 gallon smart pot and, she has now 6 node and the 7th is showing hiself To avoid any transplant shock or stress 2 days ago I gave her liquid Kelp and fish fertilizer. I am starting the mainlining training with topping to the third node (unfortunately the node with the damaged leaves) I removed the extra growth below it. We will see how in the next weekly update.. Stay tuned. 🌱🖖🏿👨‍🌾🏿

Grow Questions

Summer is super warm and not windy. I have a humidifier, i am foliar spraying her with aloe vera and liquid kelp but unfortunately the 3rd node leaves are already burnt. How can i make sure the leaves will still help her going through the mainlining training stress properly?

might be a root zone problem. Heat won't cause those spots. if you don't let top 1" dry, start doing so.. 20% runoff waste and repeat. avoids buildup, keeps roots happy. I am not familiar with your ferts, but if you can look into their labels and deduce PPM of what you feed is in a normal range, this is my best guess.. and just a guess. do google and look for more info in addition to questions here. (also, not elgible for the GotM contest, so if you like my solution, do give the 'answer' to someone else, please)

I switched to flowering 2 days ago. On the defoliation side of the training, when there are grow tips that are growing from an under node, do i keep them or do i remove them? I don't want any larfy buds and i want the plant to focus into the 8 mainlined colas

Yes you can defoliate and prune up to about 3 weeks into flower. I Usually leaf strip then about 20 days in I'll prune all the larfy weak nodes underneath. This focuses all the light on top of the plant giving you some sexy buds with no popcorn buds underneath. I learnt this the hard way lol check my diary if you need any help . I mainline

Hi @HueyBrown, The main-lining looks nice, it has a really nice structure (that's what I love from this technique). To be honest, I'm not sure that the defoliation was super necessary. From the photos of the previous weeks, it seems the leafs weren't blocking that much what was under. What kind of light do you use exactly? For the watering, considering your temperatures, I'm surprised she doesn't even drink much. I'm following the grow now, looking forward to seeing the buds fattening up 👍

@Frenchie, I see what you mean about the wattage. Heck no don't buy the book too expensive lol. There's enough great diaries, websites and YouTube videos with step by step Schwazzing technics tutorial 😜

@HueyBrown, for the Likesuns, the wattage consumption might be written directly on the lamp itself or in the manual, it is mandatory I guess. I wouldn't say Watt doesn't matter, it is still a good indication of what you can expect. The important thing is to look at the real consumption. If it was really 600W from the wall, that would be overkilled for your grow tent for example. Thanks for the link, I actually saw it when I did my research after reading about this technique (not going to buy the book though 😉)

@Frenchie, I feel like the Likesuns provide maybe 300W. I figured out later on (of course after the purchase) that Watt doesn't really matter. For my next grow I will do more research and follow the reviews. Here is a good guide for schwazzing technic https://threealight.com/pages/ultimate-guide-to-schwazzing
