The dark devil certainly had a tougher time with the water issues I put it through. Thankfully the pods didn't hold the water for days. Got a root poking out on day 10.
Day 11: Transplanted into 3gal. Sprinkled 1ml of Great White under/around the pod, and since the Coco/Perlite (60:40) was on the way to being bone dry, hit it and surrounding area with @12fl oz nutes/water. Set the lights at @60% at 22inches.
Day 12: Hoping I can find my lock step with her. Hoping the sag is part of who she is, or I can correct her before it's too late. I'm pretty sure it's not over watering, immediate soil was barely moist to the touch this morning.
Day 12.2: oh boy, I was so excited to install my new equipment, I skipped removing the cap for the humidity sensor. What I thought was @55%, was actually @80%. I'm so happy I caught that! Thankfully it's a one time error.
Day 13: Looking like there's a little more lift under her wings. Happy, me for sure, hopefully the plant too! Thanks for all the help so far!
Day 14: going one more day no water. The Coco feels moist at best an inch down, bone dry a 1/2 inch down. Jiffy pod still looks/feels wet.
The dark devil looks like it might have a twist to it's Leaf. It's day 10, 3rd day with descent pH water. Might that be the issue, or should I be on the look out for another symptom?
Nothing wrong there. You are just over worrying. What you need to do is to put that seedling into a pot, those jiffy pellets only last a couple of days
I've had my humidity at/near/over 80% for the last few days, and just realized it when I seen my humidity sensor still had it's protective cap on.
Would an extremely high humidity level like that show the same symptoms as overwatering?
Hope everyone is having as much fun as I am!
Heya!
Seedlings and clones like high RH in that range. Looks a little droopy from overwatering, now the high RH doesn’t help in that case as it will take longer for the plant to dry out. Try placing a fan nearby but not directly on the seedling to help dry it out a little.
Just try a little less next time and make sure it’s dry before watering again. Cannabis thrives from wet/dry watering cycles.
Cheers and goodluck!
Overwatering and bad pH we're the root of my root issues. Treating them and providing enough nutes to get a steady growth now.
Day 14: No water, no nothing.
Day15: 24oz of pHd water and nutes.
Day 16: Nothing but good looks today.
Day 17: Nothing.
Day 18: Doing well, got some nutes/water today (64oz)
Day 18: Gave each 64oz of nute/water. Just too it started to run off.
Day 19: Nothing
Day 20: Nothing.
Day 21: Watered, checked my run off and it was >1600ppm. Ran @1/2gln of CalMag and FloraMicro at (300ppm) till ppm came to @600ppm and pH 5.7
Slight purple on top stems might be indication if Mag deficiency, and with the ppm so high I think it was the start of a lockout (?)
Will monitor.
Day 22: Looking healthy. Going to try to up the nutes this week.
Day 23: Nothing.
Day 24: Nothing.
Day 25: Upped the nutes for the next stage of growth, @600ppm pH 5.7
+ Added Humboldt roots as a little experiment.
64oz no runoff.
Day 26: Nothing.
Day 27: Raised the lights 2 inches.
Day 28: Fed with 90oz nutes. 30oz runoff.
Runoff: pH 5.5 ppm 1100
Thinking maybe a plain water feeding next to remove some of the salt build up.
Coco and GH FloraSeries.
Is an 1100ppm (for ref: pH 5.5) runoff something to be concerned with?
Inflow is @500-600ppm (pH 5.8) last 2 feedings.
Should I do just a pHd watering next, low nutes feeding, or normal and monitor?
Dankest Thanks! 🙏🏼🙌🏼
The run off should not be that much higher than the feeding, that means that the plant is nor eating all the nutes you are giving it, since the run off should stay around the same as what you put in. Lower the feeding strength.
Week 5 start: Runoff ppm is high (@1100ppm). No signs of stress however. Plan on doing a fresh water irrigation on feeding #4
Day 29: Nothing.
Day 30: Nothing.
Day 31🏵️: 1.25gln (pH 5.8, ppm 0).
🚰 Run-off: pH 5.6 ppm 800

✂️ Removed largest 2 fan leaves.
🌿 LST on lower branches to get them light.
Day 33: @3/4gln (pH 5.8, ppm 0)
🚰 Run-off: pH 5.7 ppm 400

✂️ Removed largest fan leaves, lowest, and the top blockers.
⏭️⏭️⏭️
Plan is to do one more transition feeding, and move to flower nutes next week after doing a fresh water feeding.
Thinking we'll be in flower this week. Going to start flower nutes next feeding.
Day 36: No Activity.
Day 37: 80oz Nutes, w/touch of great white.

Day 38: No Activity.
Day 39: 🌿LST to the mainlines top.
Day 40: 90oz, 1oz runoff.
⏭️ Will be doing a flush next watering.
Day 41: No Activity.
Day 42: No Activity.
Definitely entered into flower this week.
Everything looks strong and healthy. Going to flush tomorrow and go into flowering nutes.
Week 7: Flowering so nicely. Showing purple around the budsites already.
Will introduce flower nutes on day 44 or 45.
Continuing with General Hydroponics, KoolBloom, MaxBloom, FloraNectar, etc.
Day 43: Fresh water Flush (pH 5.8)

⏭️ One more flower feeding then a rinse.
Day 48: No Activity.
Ended week 7 with an ambitious dose of Beastie Bloomz, and didn't have enough CalMag or silicon to appropriately consume it. Looking healthy again.
Day 50: (1gln) CalMag flush.
Day 51: (1gln) CalMag, Humic Acid, Kelp, and FloraNectar w/ Great White.
Day 52: No Activity.

🚰 Runoff EC: 1150-1300
Is this foxtailing?
Possibly "good" genetic foxtailing?
I think they're "fattening" nicely, are super sticky and smell lovely.
Lights are vClose but I ran out of clearance and the lower buds are showing same structure.
Happens on numerous other growmies Dark Devil Autos, and some sources (RQS) say purps can be more prone to genetic foxtailing.
Was relieved to see a similar structure on Sweetseeds grow diary ( https://sweetseeds.es/en/seguimiento-de-cultivo-de-dark-devil-auto-de-sweet-seeds/#semana7 )
Grow easy and stay high ents! 🙏
They look and smell great, hoping to have the drying room sorted out. Shooting for a constant 65°F/55%RH.
🚰 Feeding @2.5L Everyday. pH @6.1, EC@1150.
💧 Runoff EC @1200.
Will start flushing soon.
Same regimen as the previous week.
Trichomes look slightly cloudy.
