Day 2 of germination via soil. Espoma Organic seed starter in 5in peat pot, surrounded by a 3 gallon Smart pot filled with a mixture of Good Earth Organic Zen blend & Fox Farms Ocean Forest.
Day 3- We have breakthrough! Both seeds are viable and have broken through the soil.
Last night, the humidity kept dropping. I broke out the cool mist humidifier this AM, when it reached 20%. Plants were moist, no fans were running. I tried wet towels, and bowls of water prior to humidifier.
Now, humidity is 65%, temp is 80°F, and the little boogers have tripled in size in the last 7 hours.
I had no idea autos were so quick!
Am very happy my seeds germinated, and that they have a fairly thick-looking stalk!
Running VSP2000 on Full, 24hrs a day, cool mist humidifier keeping moisture at 60%, temp at 80°, oscillating mini fan on low, and exhaust fan on 1st/lowest setting.
This shit is fun! Why didn't anyone ever tell me?!
Started girls on 1/4 dose of nutes today. Will start lst at the end of this week, as their growth is beginning to take off, and I'm hoping she'll be up to the task. We'll see!
Last night began the 18/6 light schedule.
All in all, my plants are beautiful & look very healthy. Thanks to the community of growers here on GrowDiaries!
Discovered a few brown spots on older fan leaf 6 days ago. Then 3 days ago, a leaf on the same branch, showed white striping between veins on 2 of the leaves.
There are definitely no bugs. Its a clean room, clean tent, microscope isn't showing anything, no webs, and just in case, I surrounded the soil, pots, floor, suspended around the plants and hung nearby, glue traps and "bug feed" to attract them. Not one critter was found.
The spots couldve been from water dripping when feeding, however, the white stripes kinda hint at a deficiency. As Calcium & Magnesium tend to run together, I'm veering on the side of caution and giving extra doses of Calmag. So far, nothing has spread beyond the two leaves.
They smell pretty strong and have hairy little buds everywhere!
Shes growing...like a weed!.... duh..duh..duuuhh
Was told repeatedly, that yellowing leaves at bottom was most likely,, due to CalMag deficiency. I began increasing both immediately. Unfortunately, it started spreading, beginning at older fan leaves at the bottom.
Then it was pointed out, that Calcium deficiency usually starts in newer leaves. They also noticed the foot worth of growth in a week and suggested the problem might be that I'm not feeding enough and she's pulling nutes to feed her flowers.
So now, I am increasing amount of both water and nutes. We will see very soon if I am just fuckin it up more!
P.S. She might be GSC, but she smells like Kiwi fruit/green grapes.
Well, wasn't getting anywhere with nute increase, extra water, etc, and luckily, my sons girlfriends father is a grower for dispensaries in DC, so I got some help from him.
Turns out everything was good! The yellowing of the leaves is typical "end of life" behavior!
The smell is so strong!
Buds are fattening, smell is super stinky, and the plant looks like it was dusted with sugar. Anything that touches it ends up sticking to it; like my hair or other branches/buds.
fan leaves are almost gone. Trichomes are almost 70% milky in color. I imagine within the next several days, that it'll be time to harvest. Unsure how to go about drying, as I have 3 more plants, at varying stages of growth, in the grow tent. I have several rooms in the basement that I can dedicate as "drying" rooms, only im nervous about keeping humidity in check. We own a water/mold remediation company and have professional drying equipment, however, im thinking it might be too much. Off i go, to research!
Buds not as dense as I wouldve liked, but still got a good 3.5oz of dry product. It dried for 12 days, at 67° and 58% rh.
Tested after 1 week of curing, and found it to be the best bud I ever had. Already started 2 more plants!
