Killer kush/Northern lights 1st attempt

So I bought a new small tent and a new HLG 135 Rspec, so I figure id give it a whirl and see how it goes. I'm well aware the 2x2x4 tent is gunna be a watch and shoot so I can keep the plants super short. So I figure I'd give Scrog an attempt. Never done it before so we shall see how this goes. I got a few free seeds from a buddy who said they were sweet seeds killer kush, and i had picked up a few seeds from canuk when they were 50% off on true north, so figure since they both are fast id run them together and hopefully they harvest roughly the same time. So far even with the 135 turned down to like 50 watts its still crazy bright and my seedlings seem to be atleady 2-3 days further along then compared to when I was running a "600 watt" blurple light. I'm excited to see this light really give it in a few weeks when I make the flip.

This lights is killing it compared to my old blurple. 14 days old and they are at what took 20-22 days last grow, pretty stoked:) I transplanted on day 8 into 2 gallon cloth pots. The northern lights is keeping things pretty tight all along, bottom nodes already have decent new tips growing out. The killer kush is "killin" it. Top node is already starting to not by symmetrical anymore, and bottom grow tips are already like an inch. Debating topping noth of these to make the scrog a bit easier, it'll depend on how fast these keep going, maybe this will be quicker then I expected. :)

Well its been another good week of growth, I topped both plants at the beggining of the week, both of them recovered quick. They both also got thier first small feeding of nutrients. About 1/4 does. The northern lights is just turning into a small bush. Its not really growing tall just growing out. The undergrowth has pretty much caught up in height to the top growth. Only problem is that I'm getting some discoloration on the top leaves. May be from adding nutrients early or maybe light burn, we shall see if it continues. The killer kush is just slaying away still. It just keeps getting taller and growing new shoots, I think it may end up taking over out of the tent as it's getting taller then the NL quicker and my stretch a bit more. Either way its a growing fast with no real problems. Debating flipping to flower after next week, it'll kind of depend on how much more growth I get to try to fill the screen. Guess we shall see.

Another awesome week. Just trucking along. The northern lights even after moving the lights up and dimming them still hasn't stretched much. Guessing its not going to do much to help fill the scrog net just may end up as a Bush on half of it. But I've never grown it before so maybe it'll stretch like mad. The killer kush is just trucking along slowly filling its side up. Fed it some more and it loved it. Pretty stoked to see its end result. I dont know if my timer is messed up, broken or power went out, but it hasn't been keeping a 18/6 for the past week. Its been all over the place. So as of today its on a flip a switch 12/12 when I turn them on and off. Hopefully I can keep it to a good schedule and I dont screw it up. On to week 5 and week 1 of flip:)

Another great week of growth, but I definitely flipped to soon as the screen is not going to fill up, but I know for next time. Probably should have also only ran 1 plant in a 3gallon pot to make my life easier. All part of the learning curve. The killer kush has started a great stretch and has pretty much almost filled its side, its already throwing pistils so I'm excited to see where this goes. The northern lights on the other hand has just decided it was to be a short stubby bush that doesn't want to spread out. I have 1 more of these seeds so I may try a mainline with it next or im going to lower the output on my light to cause some stretch to fill the screen. But it is a super Harty dense plant, im sure it will still produce. Like I said with the timer screwing me up, the flip happened a week or 2 early id say. So mu yield may suffer a bit but its part of learning how to scrog the right way. Gotta start somewhere.

Well second week since the flip is in the bag. I had to give the northern lights a little hair cut the other day. It was so damn bushy that all the lower stuff didn't get enough light. It didn't stretch like I hoped ether which is OK, just didn't really do much to fill the net up. Thats ok, probably going to do a small mainline with it next time. The killer kush looks like it stopped stretching, and little buddlets are starting to give it a go. O think a 5 week veg would been more beneficial for filling the screen. Hoping both of these fast strains are as fast as they say. Could be cool in 5 or so weeks if i get some decent bud for the old girl.

Another awesome week of growth. Overall they are drinking more and love the tiger bloom vs the flora nova I was using, as I've seen a difference even after one feed, also could just be me to excited about this grow. The northern lights got another hair cut so I could expose some more bud sites. Overall this plant is super dense and would have been benificial if I gave it another week before the flip, but what can you do. The killer kush is just giving it. Crystal appeared yesterday, so thats neat. Plus it just keeps moving faster then expected. These fast strains are pretty cool, they keep surprising me on how fast they are flowering. I may have to try other fast strains.

Just another great week:) The northern lighs seems to have a mag deficiency and was taking up aot of nitrogen from lower leaves, so i up its feeding a bit and added some Epsom salts, it seems to be doing better. Starting to get a bit frosty :) The killer kush just is just having a hay day and growing quicker and quicker. Not much more to say. Week 4 of flower in the books, cant wait to see what next week holds.

Another week in the bag. Northern lights fast- gave it a crazy hair cut again, to many big fan leaves hiding lower buds. I have been fighting a ph/nutrient problem causing the leaves to yellow/rust. I think i finally got it solved next week will tell. Only problem is that I'm coming close to an end so the leaves are going to yellow anyways. Killer kush- I didnt know it but the tips of some of the leaves are starting to purple a bit, didn't know this stain had this but im not complaining. The pistils are turning a nice brown and everything looks like it's tightening up. Overall another good week, the tricomes are starting to get milky here and there, and the grow then is super skunks. Both plants are starting to fill out a bit to which is nice. Shouldn't be much longer.
