So I am finally back! I will be growing a few plants and pulling off a quick head stash harvest before we move. I have started to make the transition to organic gardening practices because I have become extremely interested in soil science. If you are too, check out the book Teaming With Microbes, One Straw Revolution, and The Lean Farmer. I also will be using knowledge/wisdom from a huge collection of extensive research conducted during my 3 month sabbatical. My main inspirations are Rasta Jeff, Mendodope, Subcool, MinnesotaNice, Brownguy420, The Dude and Scotty Real, Tad Hussey, and so many more that I can't name them all. Thank you!
For this grow I will be using the Mephisto Autoflower Super Soil. I filled the bottom half of the pot with Light Warrior, then added 20% earth worm castings (ECW), the recommended amount of Mephisto Auto Super Soil, and mixed thoroughly. Then I added the other half the pot in light warrior and mixed in 15% EWC thoroughly.
Feeding for this run will be limited to top dressing organic, dry amendments, nutrient teas, aerated compost teas, and Recharge on an as needed basis.
I soaked the peat plugs in some water with kelp meal. Before I placed the seeds in the plugs, I sprinkled Mycorhizae into the hole then dropped the seed on top to ensure tap root infection. Mycorhizae can be seen enveloping the seedling at the base of the stem and looks like a mold or stringy grey filaments. This fungi forms a symbiotic relationship with the plant by attaching to the plant root, extending a network of it's fungal roots out into the dirt, obtaining plant nutrients, then passing them back along the fungal roots to the plant where it trades the plant nutrients to the plant for carbon that the fungi needs. This fungi effectively increases the reach of a plant's root system exponentially. It is so symbiotic, just thinking about it relaxes me!
I placed the pots full of soil in the grow environment and watered them with Recharge 3 days before I planted the seeds in them. The light cycle and environmental parameters were set to run in theory to acclimate the dirt. I do this to help the soil settle, distribute moisture more evenly, and allow microbe life to begin to form in the pot well before the plants are planted.
So I was actually preparing my soil, getting ready to pop some Manbearalienpigs, when all of a sudden, a small seed container falls out of the Mephisto Genetics Super Soil bag I bought several months ago. At first I panicked and thought I somehow brought some of my seeds but upon closer inspection, I realized they were Skywalkers that I had never gotten before. So Mephisto hooked it up huge, much thanks! 👊. I took it as the force telling me to germinate those puppies so I did! I had 100% germination rate on the two seeds however one of the seeds stopped growing once the taproot came out about a half inch. The sample size was too small to draw any real conclusions from other than what I already know which is "one is none, and two is one."
Thanks for tuning in everyone! Glad to be back in the community! ✊

Sprout: 3/1/17 (Full moon)
Age: Day 11 as of 3/11/18
Updates/Observations:
-Water about a tenth of a gallon or so distilled water every 2 days alternating with Recharge every third time. Trying to keep the soil always slightly moist and never let it dry completely to keep microbes (and by extension the soil) at optimum health.
-She is one of the more healthy looking sprouts at this point in time.
-Cover crop staying small for now.
Cheers!

- She has a very symmetrical structure and appears very healthy, though she is showing some leaf curl.
- Growing very vigorously.

Sprout: 3/1/17 (Full moon)
Age: Day 45 as of 4/14/18
Updates/Observations:
- Water about every 2-3 days. She is a little burnt but showing no ill effects.
- Trying to keep the soil always slightly moist and never let it dry completely to keep microbes (and by extension the soil) at optimum health.
- Drinking a bunch!
- Structure is really finishing up funny. In this last week she shot up 6 inches and spread her main cola nodes out pretty far! I think it looks really neat.
- She is finishing up to be a really stretchy lady.
Bonus: I planted some lettuce greens in a tight circle (Google high intensity farming) around a group of peppers and threw the pot off in the corner of the room for fun.
Cheers!

Grow Schedule to Date:
Sprout: 3/1/17 (Full moon)
Age: Day 52 as of 4/21/18
Updates/Observations:
- Water about every 2-3 days. She is a little burnt but showing no ill effects.
- Trying to keep the soil always slightly moist and never let it dry completely to keep microbes (and by extension the soil) at optimum health.
- She is probably tied with my Cosmic Queen for healthiest plant.
- Smell reminds me of that 'new fruity cannabis smell'
- For some reason she seems a little behind to me but hasn't shown any real signs of stress. My guess is the over fertilization has slowed flower development.
- Definitely using less super soil next time!
Cheers!

Sprout: 3/1/17 (Full moon)
Age: Day 74 as of 5/14/18
Updates/Observations:
- Chopped her at day 74.
- I added the Mephisto Super Soil to this pot and a handful of my super soil so it was just a tad too hot. That super soil was fire lol.
- Sweet pungent smell right now.
- She looks like she is going to be a light yielder but I am really excited to try her smoke because she seemed to be effected by the burns the least.
- Chopped to hang at 70 degrees F, 50% humidity for 7-10 days.
- Will post harvest report after they finish drying and star the cure.
Cheers!

Skywalker is a great one for night time, early evening, or after a stressful day. She really had a calming effect that was enjoyable. Unfortunately I over fertilized her a lot and it effected yield but what little I had was excellent.
I grew her organically with some supersoil that was much too strong for her. Next time I grow autos I will greatly decrease the amount. She grew with one strong glory bud pretty naturally with good strong branches. I wish I wouldn't have over fertilized her so I could have seen her true potential but thank you Mepishto! Best auto seed company in my opinion!
@Endriu,
The more I read about the natural cycle the more interested I become. It is funny because outside the grow I work in IT and live a pretty techie lifestyle but in the grow I want to pretty much have it as close to mother nature as possible.
Thanks for the kind words!
