The temperature, humidity and height are approximate. First time properly growing a photoperiod outdoors and being serious about it! Kept in a small pot inside a plastic greenhouse because the night temperature was too low to move to final growing position. Used basic spray on fertiliser that I have for growing vege so nothing fancy.

1-2 weeks since planting into the final grow position and coming along well. Especially since we had some unusually warm weather during the day.

I didn't really write notes about the grow so everything is based on estimating from photos I took and whatever I can remember. By this point I had read loads on LST so was defo thinking of doing that soon. Everything looking good but getting a little worried about night time temperatures now summer here is nearly over...

Tried LST for the first time. Because of limited space and where the plant is positioned it wasn't really done the best way. Hopefully it helps with new growth though even if it's not perfect 🤞

Rethought my LST approach and decided to go for a different direction. Worked out well as it seems to be getting more bushy.

Decided to try some BioBizz nutrients so I've been applying them for the last 2 weeks starting off with low-med strength to see how things go. Seems to have worked wonders!! Not sure if it's the new feed or the heatwave we've just had but I have a feeling it's mainly the feed so fingers crossed it keeps giving... I've been debating doing some defoliation to get rid of some of the big fan leaves blocking some light, but I keep reading they do all the magic in terms of light input so still not sure... Also a little concerned I havent started flowering yet as it's getting colder at night. Considering beginning force floweing in the next week.

Not much to say this week... everything is looking good apart from the weather!! Measured the height accurately and we're at 120cm and still growing. Going to do some defoliation this week to make some space and also some more LST. Still haven't decided whether to force flower or not...

Decided to put up a horticultural fleece during week 19 to try and help with the dropping night time temperatures. Seems to have responded well after all the tugging, poking and prodding I did to install it. I took out some of the central fan leaves to try and give it the best light and also swapped over to Biobizz fish mix which seems to be going well. Who knows if it's any better than grow? Decided not to force flower but I'm not sure if I'm starting to see the beginning of some flowers!! Not currently sure if it's new growth... Update after grow question- definitely starting to pre-flower (thank you to everyone that answered). After some reading I reckon I'm (mid way) in the stretch, so maybe a week more of fish mix then I'll be switching back to BioGrow and adding BioBloom and TopMax .

If my guessing is right then this should be the 2nd week of the stretch but as I didn't see the plant on the exact day it started flowering I'm still not sure. So I'm still feeding with fish mix but will be switching to grow and bloom soon. Looking good though... new flowering sites in lots of places, I just hope they keep growing!! Update near end of week - decided to start feeding bloom and top max and switching back to grow since the buds are coming along nicely.

Having a heat wave at the moment so she's loving life... feeding 1ml more of bloom since we're into the 3rd week of flowering. Buds coming along nicely... bit of a problem with pesky snails but they don't seem to be doing enough damage to worry

I went away for a few days during this week and whilst I was away the wind blew my greenhouse and some stems managed to get squished between the greenhouse and horticultural fleece. Seemed to bounce back but I'm not seeing too much bud growth since last week - possibly too cold at night (4°C last night). Increased bloom to 3ml/l and considering switching back to BioBizz Fish mix rather than Biogrow.

It's been pretty cold the last few days so considering the weather there are some nice little nuggets developing on quite a few different branches, although as expected the back is smaller than the front. Fingers crossed the weather picks up and the nuggets grow into huge buds 😊😊 Some of the backside (darker side) fan leaves near the bottom but not necessarily at the bottom have turned yellow with some brownish marks. Not sure what this is? Just checked my ph recently and it was high so I've now sorted that, but I've had no problems up to this point so I'm not certain it's pH.

DrBuffystarted grow question 4 years ago
What is causing yellowing of the bottom/backside fan leaves during week 5 of flower? Should I worry about it spreading? Increased bloom nutrients to 3ml/l recently but could have started when feeding 2ml/l. Or is this just leaves yellowing as a part of flowering?

Hey there DrBuffy, it's totally normal for plants to lose some leaves every now and then. in your case it's from lack of nitrogen, right now the plant did a good job canabalising old leaves first, but let it go to long and it could become problematic , using topmax basically does that sometimes at your feeding ratios because it breaks down the nutrients really well . you just need to top up N . Does that make sense? Hope this helps ! 🚀

Things have gone well this week. The buds have really come along but it's been pretty wet so I just had one moldy bud. Been having to check on it daily to make sure there isnt too much water on the leaves and ventilation is ok. Switched back to fish mix instead of BioGrow since it's got a higher proportion of nitrogen and I've had a small issue of nitrogen deficiency (thanks to everyone who answered my q)

This was my first photoperiod so it was fun to grow and I was super happy that it started flowering at the beginning of September. It was my first time doing a lot of things, including LST, which definitely helped with the mass of leaves that grew. I probably had another 2 weeks left, but due to mold spreading throughout the buds I couldn't risk it taking over, but the sacrifice was flushing, which I didn't get to do in time. Will update more once it's dried and cured 😃 Dried and trimmed and now in a jar drying. A comparatively low harvest considering how big it got towards the end. Main reasons are tempersture and lack of light due to the weather and growing setup.
