This is my favorite strain regarding smell and taste, so I need to grow it again. She was a little bit slower that the other two, so it took her some more hours to break ground. Almost exactly 72 hours after potting.

Not a problem, but I'm eager to learn: Most tutorials recommend to let the tap root grow to about 2.5 cm before potting. Does anybody have a rationale for that? To me this sounds counter-productive (light protection for roots, correct orientation of seed). What am I missing?

The 2.5 is all preference, I agree with you on planting the seed soon as it cracks and letting the tap grow in the medium.

Seems Jackie tried to grow two main stems from the very beginning. After watching this for one day I decided to chop the smaller one so the plant does not waste energy for something that will not work anyway.

Jackie is doing fine and looking perfectly healthy. After switching on the second light, temperature has risen significantly. Perfect for vegetation. But soon I will need to switch on the filter which will drop the temperature again.

Jackie is very eager to grow branches, she is growing one even from the cotyledon now. Looking absolutely healthy, lots of huge leaves. Smell is very noticeable already.

Day 28. The little Jackie is branching like crazy, it even grows a branch from the cotyledons. Great development, absolutely healthy. In order to address my issue with overwatering, I changed my watering regime: I completely soak them until I notice the first drops of run-off, then I let them dry out for one or two days. So they got water only three times in the last week. Seems they like it.

Jackie is in full stretch now, the show even exceeded my expectations. I'm very happy with the new water regime. Also I'm giving a teaspoon of Epsom salt per 2 liters of water once per week. The smell is incredibly strong already. Looks very promising!

Jackie has taken the lead, she is my new favorite. The side branches are massive and all having almost the same height. Some of them are looking like a main cola from one of my previous grows. She has the potential for a big yield, so I hope I do not mess things up.

Day 49. Jackie is an absolute stunner, she looks just perfect. She is just as wide as needed, but does not waste any space. Very long and huge side branches, and almost all of them of the same height. Just the right amount of leaves. She never complains but simply does her thing. The smell is overwhelming. I really hope I do not mess her up; if the result is as good as the grow, she might be my first 10/10.

Day 63. Everything is fine. She now has a bit more space for the final two weeks, I hope she knows how to take advantage of it. Leaves are more and more getting worn out, but this should not be a problem at this point in time.

Day 70. Jackie is doing great. The colas are looking massive and she is nicely maturing. After Shiva has been harvested, the smell in the tent has decreased substantially. So it definitely was the Shiva Skunk who almost killed my carbon filter. Much better now. Jackie does not show the deficiencies like the Afghani; the development of the leaves is looking pretty normal to me given her age. I think she needs just one more week.

Jackie has been harvested on day 76. Those colas are looking very good, they also are quite dense and looking very promising. Temperatures are very low as is RH, so drying will probably go faster than desired...

I'm a bit "disappointed" because she smells so different than her sister. It is almost like comparing tomatoes and bananas. Apart from that, the grow was more or less perfect and the yield was fantastic by my standards. I wonder why there is such a huge variation; they could be from totally different strains. Maybe it is the breeder, because the Shiva Skunk from Sensi Seeds is very similar to what I grew before. Still it is first class weed. And maybe the aroma is going to develop into a more pleasant direction for me. Given the intensity of the smell and taste, there is still much room for surprises. And as I'm currently smoking some weed I harvested more than a year ago, I know what can happen after some nice curing. Thanks for watching and happy growing to all of you! Stay healthy!
