Growing it

Easy

Resistance

Strong

Grow and yield have been fantastic. My only issue is the smell and taste. It is extremely sweet and fruity, but kind of artificial, almost like gummy bears or Red Bull. Simply not my taste. I was hoping she would have the same aroma as her sister I've grown before. In this case it would have been my first full 10. Since grow conditions were exactly the same, there should not be that much variation between different individuals from the same strain.

Of course this is highly subjective. Anyone who likes this kind of taste certainly would be excited, especially as the taste is extremely intense.

The effect is quite nice, mainly on the head. And this after only some days of cure. But for me the aroma is as important as the effect, so the total rating is a solid 8.

I'm a bit "disappointed" because she smells so different than her sister. It is almost like comparing tomatoes and bananas. Apart from that, the grow was more or less perfect and the yield was fantastic by my standards.

I wonder why there is such a huge variation; they could be from totally different strains. Maybe it is the breeder, because the Shiva Skunk from Sensi Seeds is very similar to what I grew before.

Still it is first class weed. And maybe the aroma is going to develop into a more pleasant direction for me. Given the intensity of the smell and taste, there is still much room for surprises. And as I'm currently smoking some weed I harvested more than a year ago, I know what can happen after some nice curing.

Thanks for watching and happy growing to all of you! Stay healthy!

Grow Questions

Why should the tap root grow for some days before potting?
Not a problem, but I'm eager to learn: Most tutorials recommend to let the tap root grow to about 2.5 cm before potting. Does anybody have a rationale for that? To me this sounds counter-productive (light protection for roots, correct orientation of seed). What am I missing?

The 2.5 is all preference, I agree with you on planting the seed soon as it cracks and letting the tap grow in the medium.

Hey Buddha2,
I was also surprised by the fruity aroma I got from one Royal Jack auto plant I grew. Very sweet and fruity. I guess it's in the genes ;)

@Green_Dream, sure, but her sister was totally different. Like caramel or cookies. Simply great, I wanted it again. But hey, I should be happy and not complain :innocent:

Beautiful work.. Love how u do a cycle of the plants life on harvest wk..shame bout flavours from her.. i was chatting to pal on here last nite bout this.. Im curious to why such a big difference and how this happens.. If for example u grew this pheno 1st it mite of put u off growing her again.. Im sure the breeders don't want us to feel that way.. I need to read up on it:book:! .. Stay safe and best wishes for your future grows..:+1::four_leaf_clover:

@Jef79, thanks a lot! I do the summaries because I find myself checking only the harvest report of other diaries as well. So I like getting an overview without the need to click on all the individual weeks.
