My intention was to germinate in jiffy pellets and then move them into their final home, 11 ltr cloth pots, however, I shut the grow tent down due to internal temps and the heatwave causing it. The pot bottom left it a blueberry sugarpine auto that was stunted from seed and nearly died.. I kept it in there for curiosity sake and its a little fighter so it deserves to see it through in whatever wierd form it takes... This grow I will be concentrating on the 3 surviver bcn critical xxl's from seed stockers

People who are great at growing things are often described as green fingered. I on the other hand would describe myself as a stubby fingered goon who has prematurely euthanized every plant I have ever glanced at.. So, you can take it as correct that I am approaching this first grow with some trepidation!
Its not the done thing here in the UK to grow anything stronger than a mint plant so my location for the new hydrolab 2 x4 x 5 tent is driven by privacy. Unfortunately it is possibly the worst location due to it being a concrete out building with a tin roof and we just decided to have a 35ยฐc heatwave for 3 weeks right at the start of the grow.
I lost 4 plants with temps inside the tent reaching 49ยฐc so I called a halt until the heatwave subsided.
I had started 3 bcn xxl critical autos off prior to switching off so they didn't have a great start as they were shoved outside to live or die..
Turns out they lived and my fingers of doom may be on the turn to slightly greener :)
Your grow looks great! I'm new and am considering trying this strain, but forgive me, I dont know what BCN stands for and can't find an answer online. Thanks!
@RustyStarbuck72, I contacted a clone/seed bank (cannabis collective) who explained the BCN is a geographic identifier, this one in particular is from Barcelona, or at least thats how it was described to me. Thanks again!
Plant will come back soon, she just had a stretch, and was alittle to low in water and nutes, . She will look much better soon. Its way better to have an underfeeding// underwatering than an excess... Hemp is resilant
@Ixnay, lol the four tragedies happened due to the tent getting too hot In the heatwave. I was left them a day and when I went in the temp was 49ยฐc and humidity was 20 percent... It was 35 outside and the tent lives in the only safe place I have which is a concrete out building with a ton roof. they were as dead as the doe doe lol... I just shut the tent down.. Trouble was I had already cracked these 3 xxls and had them In Pellets ready to transfer to the tent... I haven't lstd these ones as I'm not quite sure of age.. They had a week and a bit outside in small pots as the tent was too hot still.. The 3 week age on here is from when they got put in the tent and then finally transfered to the 11 litre pots.. I planned to lst this lot but due to the fact they could go Into flower at any minute I thought I would not stress them further and just let these grow out in peace... I will lightly lst and leaf tuck to reveal new growth but the next 2 in there are going to get lst'd properly.
@RustyStarbuck72, we're in a similar boat for sure.. I also struggled with a heatwave for the beginning (32ยฐc some days), but come next summer you'll be prepared ๐
Yours looks like theyre growing well..
I would definitely recommend LST'ing. Mine was growing so slow I almost binned it, but then thought F it and went a little crazy with LST to see what would happen, I even snapped the main stem at one point but you wouldnt know today, it bounced back well and I'm predicting a better yield than expected! The SS Critical is known for being a pretty rugged strain for beginners..
At least try it on 1 or 2 if your not up for doing all 3, then you can compare results, I bet youll be surprised and gain some confidence for your next 2 ๐๐ฟ
How did you manage to kill 4?
@Ixnay, cheers mate, it is all new to me, and having a heatwave just when I started killing 4 plants and putting these 3 back a week before they went in threw me a bit. I'm not sure if they look good or not for the start of week 3 or not.. I think if get the watering frequency right I will be somewhere close. I have 2 new starters just gone in and they will be starting on a good foot so using 3 three critical xxls as a learning experience... I am not going to stress them with lst this time, but the new 2 starters will be lst'd.. Thanks for your comment mate, I'm following yours too
