Okay so, updates. Speedracer is taking off, growth seems... normalish? Some slight curling of the edges of the leaves have me thinking heat stress due to temps getting up to 90-95 this week, trying to keep the tent cooler from now on. Slowpoke lost one of it's first leaves (curled up and died?) so i'm expecting it to be a bit stunted, hopefully a photo so I can veg it out. 3rd seed didn't germ, but I got my Meph seeds in finally, so I quickly germed and planted the strain with the quickest turn around (4 Assed Monkey), so I'm hoping to be able to get a quick harvest by the time I put the (maybe) photo's in flower. (Maybe being optimistic, but we will see lol.)
Also I noticed speedracer might be having some droop, Could be over-watering, it's coco but ya know, gunna dial it back a little.
Wassup, so the 4 assed monkey was kept a little to wet and got seed rot, whoops. Germing a 3 Bears OG x Double grape just because I only have 1 seed of the 4 assed and don't wanna waste it while I'm still learning the ropes. The root popped, i'mma try putting it in a solo cup and transplanting to full container and see if that helps during the seedling stage, even though it's coco. Speedracer is doing fine, no real worries, seems to be growing fine enough. Slow poke, well. uh. It's growing. How? I have no clue, it seems to be stacking nodes right on top of eachother. I would call it a wash but honestly i'm kinda curious to see how it plays out, should I go for another plant or grow slowpoke and see what kind of freak I get? lol.
Germed and plnted a new seed because... uh idk I just don't trust slowpoke or the bag seed to give me females, so I might as well have 2 Autos for harvest, otherwise I might be pretty disappointing later on lol. Speedracer seemed to respond well to topping, no issues. Been feeding slowpoke plain water, noticed some yellowing and did a light nutrient mix. No issues with the new autos, will try transplanting them into 3 gallon when the time is right. (Not supposed to I know but losing 2 seeds to seed rot was disappointing lol. Don't plan on switching to flowering until the autos are done I think. Also did some very light bottom defoliation on Speedracer. No issues have arisen as far as I've seen.
So I skipped a week cuz I thought not much has really changed, Looking back at the photos I see it changed more than I thought lol.
Slowpoke started getting on track after the lst and plain water treatment. currently feeding at week 2 nutes, along with Shy Sally and Fugue State. Speedracer is getting week 3 nutes (growweedeasy.com chart)
Speedracer is reallllly filling in, did some defoliation and leaf tucking for sicker looking leaves. Looks like it might be a beast. I was really to give up on Slowpoke but it surprised me and seems to to be doing well. I was planning on letting the photos veg while the autos are going, but looking at speedracer, my tents only 5 foots and I'm scared it'll take over the whole tent if I do that. So within the next week or so I might switch to 12/12 and take some reduced harvests on the autos and a smaller harvest on slowpoke, that way I can have a variety and a decent first harvest and whatnot. If they both turn out male though, it'd be nicer to know now than 6 weeks later when I'm thinking i'm going to be getting another harvest, because their bag seed. I just mainly would optimally like to harvest before the end of the year.
Also the x-plant on the autos happened two days before these photographs, I think it went fairly smoothly, some stalled growth the past day for sure, but at least they don't appear to be dying.
Another day another dollar; so the transplant failed successfully lol. Shy sally just started flowering... so I switched her to week one flowering nutes. I guess the stress of the transplant caused her to flower. It's only like 2 inches right now. It also explains the yellowing in the lower leaves. Once I fed proper nutes, the leaves perked up, but the damage is done to the bottom ones. The Fugue State hasn't really grown, but was fairly droopy, and perked up yesterday so it'll be interesting to see what happens with her. Slowpoke is doing fine, so is speedracer. I'm thinking about switching soon to 12/12 even with autos because I think the autos are gunna be a little weak anyways and I have no clue what gender the photos might be. Fugue state, slow poke, and speed racer are on half nutes for hydro schedule (Transition week) according to growweedeasy guide, while shy sally is getting week 1 flowering nutes. Also I accidentally topped slowpoke like twice because I tried to tie it down too hard.... lol. Any advice on what to do during this period is welcome !
So I ended up defoliating about 50% of the bottom of the plants main branches on Speedracer and Slowpoke. Shy sally is doing a little stretch I guess. Maybe i'll get a whopping 7g off of it, might go buck wild, who knows. Basically El Chapo at this point.
I was SUPPOSED to be slowly dialing it back to 12/12 to see if it helped gender them a little "faster" , but it looks updating the rules on my digital timer were just thrown the to the void because it's been on when it wasn't supposed to like all the time. <img class="chromoji" title="Expressionless Face" alt="😑" src="chrome-extension://cahedbegdkagmcjfolhdlechbkeaieki/images/apple/1f611.png">Who knows, guess that's why people recommend mechanical timers, but I has a wemo layin around.
Anyways, switching to 12/12 soon, all the plants seem to be thrivin and vibin, time to gender these big girlllssss.
So switched to flowering and glad to say they are both girls! Hopefully they just stay girls ;)
Got a usb microscope for upclose pics/ trichome tracking. Everything has been pretty smooth, new leaves have been growing in without any real issue/ noticeable problems.
Might notice some light brown spots, that just me watering it and leaving it a lil wet, gotta work on that.
Really trying to keep speed racer down. That sucker wants to LAUNCH.
Overall pretty hyped about this and looking forward to the process.
And yes, shy sally is on a further along nutrient system than the others!
Some heavy defoliation on Speedracer and slowpoke for the flowering stretch. Seems to have responded very positively. Shy Sally 2 is smelling greatttt. I'm starting to think that fugue state might finish after Speedracer and Slowpoke, Might be the only sativa I have right now lol. I was gone 3 days this week so they got pretty dry but they didn't seem to mind much. had a touch of nute burn this week but fixed it within a few hours so not a big deal.
Pretty normal week, some more heavy defoilation on Speedracer. It looks like the 2 bag seeds ended up being Super Lemon Haze, they have a dinstinct sour lemon smell, like the lemonheads candy. Fugue state is definitely lagging behind, but stretching hard, like the sativa she is lol.
Everything going pretty smooth. The DG x 3BOG (Shy sally) is getting some purple hues going, hopefully almost ready for harvest. The 2 Super Lemons are going strong, and fugue state is shooting a bunch of pistols and has been growing like crazy.
Pretty normal week, Slowpoke looks to be a god level of done, will probably get the chop tomorrow. Interested to see which finished first, speedracer or fugue state. Speedracer most likely but you never know. Oh and I harvested shy sally 2. it got like 5.5 g dried and trimmed . Curing now.
So Slowpoke ended up being about 12.5g dried and had about 11g in trim. Threw it in the freezer with the rest. The flower is curing right now in the jar, already smells a fantastic gasssy orange peel. No micro pics but fugure state is maturing on schedule, while I noticed speedracer was foxtailing so The bottom is kind of done somewhat while the tops aren't really? Idk this plant is maturing at different rates all over the place. Mix of amber and glass. I'll be keeping an eye on it though.
Harvested around 12/20, just got busy and couldn't update diary. Pulled like 15g from slowpoke, 60 g from speedracer, 30g from fugue state. All dried and trimmed weight
Good job man I'm watching this one its kinda like my 1st grow little struggles little successes and see what becomes of it.
Happy Growing and
Happy Harvesting
Hi there. Shouldn't need to give them anything until they grown 2 nodes. That slowpoke looks like it got too much cal mag?. Just try with plane water until u see the two bottom rounded leaves starting to turn yellow then u know to start feeding em. All the best and good luck!
