GROWING
At first, I had no expectations for this one, it was just a test of mine to see how an auto goes untrained.
Vegetative phase was nice, no troubles at all.
When pre-flower came I saw that she was not just an auto, it was THE auto.
When flowering came, I noticed she was going to be big, and oh was she. Didn´t get much tall but had long flexible branches.
In late flowering she started to develop some beautiful purple and the buds started to get so heavy the skinny branches weren´t holding it. It was a matter of time untill she collapsed, and she did, so I supported her with ropes when I woke up and she was all over her younger sisters. By the way, I think if you intent on doing a Hulkberry Auto grow, be prepared to support or train her somehow.
Also, she seemed like a long runner, she was harvested on week 13th and it wasn´t nearly enough to get the thricomes amber (not that I wanted it).
Great against pests, I had some problems with other girls on the tent but she wasn´t affected at all.
The bud structure is good and pretty looking. It isn´t very dense but it´s big.
It got purple on the sides that were getting direct light, I don´t know the explanation.
The smell was strong, hella strong.
Overall a very beautiful and resistant plant, with nice and strong smells. The only thing is that she doesn´t have very strong stems, but that´s alright.
SMOKING
What a daytime smoke.. I´ll start right off with this.
Even tho she has 30% indica genes, it feels like it all goes to the body, getting all the muscles relaxed in a super relaxing way.
Now, for the 65% sativa, it isn´t that high that makes you accelerated, overthinking stuff and so. It is a really mellow sativa, in a really good way.
It is so good that I have a problem I never thought I´d had: I CAN´T STOP SMOKING IT. It doesn´t hit you with that feeling of being stupid high (even tho you probably are), it is a sweet and relaxing smoke for doing chores or being creative.
The flavours are mainly Sweet with a little floral in the inhale and Diesel on the exhale and aftertaste ( I think the latter due to the Diesel Auto genetic background).
The only negative point I feel like mentioning is that I get REAL thirsty when I smoke it.
Well, I think that´s it. This grow surprised me so much I can´t explain. I had no expectations and ended with this beautiful looking and good tasting plant.
Would I recommend it? Hell yeah, go on and grow it yourself if you are interested in the Hulkberry Auto.
Thank you so much for reading my review.
A special thanks to the GD team and every person that helped me out through here.
Peace ✌️
BioBizz is simple, efficient and organic. The only downside which sincerely you deal with it yourself is their schedule which, for me, an auto grower and one that doesn´t have all of the best equipments, cannot follow their recommended schedule without nutrient burn. The way I dealt was half dosing and not watering with nutrients every time. Otherwise, their line is great and I hope I´ll be getting the complete line soon enough.
Wow. This light.
First off I thought it was the worst acquisition I have ever made.
But as it turned out, it was one the best. 60W LED that does 1.15W/g? YES, PLEASE!
Let´s see how it goes in my other runs.
1st of November, HARVEST, D91
So, after the 24 hours of darkness, she is now beautiful and ready. After chopping her, I hung her for some hours – I had some stuff to do – and after that I did wet trimming since I find it more convenient and I don´t like to trim dry buds. I guess the best way for me would be to leave it drying for some days, do the trimming, then leave it drying some more, but, I sincerely don´t have patience lol.
When I was in the last stock to trim (which was the main btw) the top bud looked strange to me so I opened it and it was starting to rot.. I got really sad but what can I do except for trying to save it, right? So I took all the rotten parts out of the top bud and tore it to pieces to watch it closely and keep it from getting any more mold.
D94
Today I weighed the half part of the top bud that was already dry and it remained without any mold: 3.6 grams.
D97
Everything is dry and now curing, the total weight is 68.6, 65 of the whole plant and 3.6 of what I saved from the rotten bud. I´m really happy with the results, the buds aren´t much dense but they look beautiful.
D111
Today is the 14th day of curing.
D120
Today I´ll be doing the smoke report, it´s been curing for 3 weeks and the smells is quite good already, I know it can be better but the taste is good already so I´ll be doing it today.
More info on growing in the previous weeks and a summary of growing and also the smoke report are on the top at the strain review. Thank you very much for reading my diary!
How much longer do you think it will take to harvest this one? She´s on day 50 now, 8 weeks from sprouting. Pistils looking white, thrics not developed yet. She´s supposed to be ready at 8-9 weeks but I don´t think that´s the case lol.
Hey!
Those 8-9 weeks is just the flowering stage. Given those white straight pistils I'd say she's got 4-5 weeks left..
Harvest window opens when you start getting amber pistils(hairs).
Normally when there's 70% amber and 30% white pistils they're ready to start flushing but that's not always the case.
The best way to check is looking at the trichomes.
Clear trichomes haven't reached their full potency, cloudy ones are full of THC and amber are losing THC while gaining CBN.
So depending on your preference whether you want more of a head high or body high.
I normally start to look at trichomes when there are about 50/50% white and amber pistils.
I harvest when after examining and finding 70% cloudy trichomes and 30% amber trichomes.
For me that's a prefect combination, depending on the strain as well.
Good luck and happy Growing!
So, I was checking her when I saw this.
I don´t know how long it´s been like this or what I´ve done, but they don´t seem to even have had pollen in them.
Also, only two nodes are like this, the rest is with pistils.
Thanks!
go to my g13 hash plant diary, week four. i was using a male to breed with, what you have here is the start of male sacks or goto my super skunk diary, i reversed a branch by spraying, the branch sprayed is sacks, again i did this for breeding. so pick them off and continue the grow keep your eye out for more . your on the right track
Today I opened up the tent and she fell off all the way to the ground hitting another 2 plants.
I checked the thricomes and she was 90%cloudy and the rest crystal and a little amber.
Do you think it´s ready to harvest? I want to chop it both to have smoke and to use the pot.
Thx
these look very nice but i am afraid she is not ready just yet maybe a week or two? can your plans hold out until then? she looks very nice you have done a super job
@DerekGR, Yeah! It´s now drying, it looks and smells great, I had some mold problems but that´s probably on me. I´ll be sure to let you know about the smoke report haha
Peace!
Love your review. It glued me to the monitor for a few minutes. I feel like you're thinking the way I do ;) It's fascinating how a plant can be that much different under different circumstances looking at mine and yours O_O
