Smooth sailing into week 8. She continues to stack, and throw pistols. Some have started to turn red, but she isn't showing any signs of slowing down. She has taken her nutes with minor tip burn. I definitely should have taken more of her secondaries, but it paid off on my first grow. I don't think I will get good hard nugs off of her secondaries that should have been cut. Having the lights tent her seems to be good. Lots of good growth, and she started throwing Trichromes. Onward and upward. Excelsior, and happy farming folks.

Grow Questions

I have an issue with soil gnats. I have diatomaceous earth in jar lids which is killing them. Is there anything else I should be doing to protect my girls?

12-16 oz coffee cup with 2" of apple cider vinager. (not the white vinager) Add a small drop of dish soap to break surface tension...gnats drown. Nematodes. I use Naturesgoodguys. $10 for a couple million. :) they eat the larve in the soil. Metal halides/HPS lights do a nice job of frying them lol! Cheers!

@FreshCoastOrganics, thanks brother. All credit goes to Maggie's Auto Seeds, and my Mentor. Fortunately, I can read, and follow directions...lol. Really though, my growing is just an extension of the wonderful growers I have been blessed to meet.

well holy shit. That thing is just busting out!! Willing to admit i may have been wrong before, bit not for another 8 weeks or so at least. Damn, that auto wants to explode and it will

@BudXs, we will see. She was a little smaller than Blue Dream at the same age, but she is really stretching now. I know comparing them is wrong, but it's the only comparison I have at this stage. She is beginning to excite me with her growth. Maggie's strains can go long, but I am guessing about another 6 to 7 weeks. My mentors mentor grew her up until 115 days. I have seen her harvested as soon as 85 days though as well. I almost wanna start her nutes before her worm tea, but that is putting the horse in front of the buggy. She will get her first nutes next Tuesday. 2 weeks of work teas, and we will see where she is at. That's typically when I can tell whether she is gonna produce weight or not. Hear she is better than Maggie's Blue Dream, and her Blue Dream is a great hybrid auto. Christmas is gonna be lit...!

If your medium is soil, bring the ph up to 6.2 if its soiless (looks that way) bring it up between 5.5 and 5.8. She looks off to a less than perfect start, and stunting an auto early is a direct reduction in yield.

@BudXs, check out the Think Like Buddha diary first week. It has the guide. There is more to it, but that is the base. Fortunately I can ask the guy who wrote it for advice with it. Happy farming brother!

@LeafTucker, yes, i am interested in the bible. Particularly ph settings. Interesting about the dome at seeding stage, ive never needed, but i see others do it in low humidity enviros. I am watching, im not too humble to learn, and you are a well educated newb. Blow me away brother, seriously, do it. I am rooting for you, as you have the blocks to be an amazing grower. You need top end gentics tho. If you ever wanna grow photo, i got you on the exotics if u want

@BudXs, so am I a newb for leaving the humidity dome off without a fan and letting the dew burn my seedling, or am I a experienced grower that soft stunted my plant to prove a point? It can't be both. That's why she is small. The funny thing is, I did it twice. This is my second Logan bean. I did the exact same thing, and burnt the first one to a crisp. Started earlier hours at work, and forgot to put it back on both times. My Bible says to start pulling the dome for 5 minutes a couple times a day on day 5. I set a timer for letting her breath after that because I can't trust myself at 4am. I didn't have any fans in the tent yet because I deep cleaned it because of the budrot from my previous diary. The one where I tried to use my shower instead of a humidifier to control the humidity of my closet grow/harvest. Brand new cool mist humidifier in a box, yet this seasoned grower thought a couple of days of steam would be ok at the end of harvest. Either I am a seasoned grower throwing mistakes to pretend I am new, it I am new making mistakes that an experienced grower would laugh at. Again, it can't be both. I talked with the breeder of Logan's Run today asking if I should just pull her, or if she would come out of it. Since both sets of new leaves are developing well, he thinks she has plenty of time to recover. I already know that I screwed up, but thanks for pointing it out. Hopefully GSC cracks and I won't make the same mistake a third time. I suck at this stage because they are so sensitive. Hopefully I get better at seedlings in the near future. Sooner or later the plants will tell the tale. If you read my diaries, you will see I give all credit to my mentor, and the breeders. I am the weakest link. It's through the breeder and my mentor that I produce anything. I killed aloe plants before this. Of course, I never wanted the aloe plants to mature and flower like I do these. It has made me a better gardner in general. I found out that my river soil is basically dead, and if I want to big veggies next year I will have to bucket grow, or spend tons on bringing my soil up to par. I never cared before. I think we got off on the wrong foot. What you see as cocky is me trying to be humble. I see what other guys pull. I even encourage them. I don't mock them, that's for sure. I have a deep respect for the guys who have been growing for decades. Having married and had children young, I would never risk my family to grow. Now I can in Illinois. Lived here since junior high. Saying that because my aunt sold her half of a 10,000 foot med grow and dispensary in Colorado last year. Just because I just started growing doesn't mean I don't have some powerhouse growers backing me up. I played by the rules of the contest. Nowhere did it state that having professional growers helping you from afar was illegal. This is my third plant. I started growing because I started making extracts, and couldn't afford to pay for all the flower to do it. Not with 20+ dollar grams in Illinois. So you can be angry, and continue to follow me. I am just going to blow your mind when you see me make stupid mistakes and pull big yields. On both accounts. I was gifted a Bible that if I follow will produce lots of weight, but can't read the plants very good, and make stupid mistakes...like the dome and shower. I bought Plain Jane Fox Farm Coco thinking it could replace Mother Earth's Coco+. I didn't even know what buffered coco was at the time. I am trying to use up 3 cubic foot of it, but do you know how tedious buffering Coco is especially when you only grow 2 plants at a time? I am explaining all of this to try to create a dialog that isn't hostile. I use RX Green bloom because it's a commerical bloom used by grow houses. If you can't get a good bloom in two bottles, then you aren't making good nutes. So using root organics terp tea in my worm tea along with the bloom is great for flowering. I use Nature's grace living soil in the bottom of my air pots for the extra oomph. I was taught all of this in the last six months. I was shown how to feather in the living soil without overpacking the pot. Literally. I was gifted everything but my lights, tent, and fans. Yes, my diary's could be better. I am new. I don't know how to relay that I switch my plants under the lights about every 2 days. Or how to stop using nutrients and the journal not demand it. I didn't hide any of what the bible taught me. I would be happy to provide you with any of the info. You can test it yourself. It is Auto specific. It taught me to stay between 5.2, and 5.6. so that's where I will keep it. I have been told that is too low, but it works for my medium, autos, grow style. If you want my exact setup to try it yourself, let me know. Maybe you might appreciate the bible when you can replicate this... Happy farming brother.

@DreamOn, thank you! She is a bit larphy at the bottom of the colas, but she is covered in Trichromes. The dense stuff will be saved for flower, and the larph will be made into extracts. Took a popcorn, and let it dry out in front of a fan. It didn't taste the best, but it packed a really good medication. Shoulders relaxed almost instantly. I will update after cure.
