Growing the Rainbow

The seedlings are really starting to grow! Seedlings 3 and 4 are catching up with 1 and 2. Seedling 1 is showing some yellowing on the tips of a couple leaves. I suspect a possible PH issue, but that is a guess at this point. I will continue keeping an eye on it. I also bumped the light up to 60%. Since I have the tent setup in an insulated shed, and night time temps are dipping into the 50's, I have the heat mat come on when the light is out. It seems to be holding acceptable temps at night.

I decided to repot the ladies into 1 gallon pots. None of them showed signs of stress from that. There is still some yellowing around the edge of the older leaves. Plant 1 shows the most signs of that. I made sure the water was PH'ed to 6.5 and added some Cal-mag supplement to see if that helps.

Dear Grow Diaries, Increase the power of the light to 80%. Yellowing of the leaves haven't improved. Started their nutrient regiment to 1ml/gal of Advanced pH Perfect Micro, pH Perfect Bloom, and pH Perfect Grow.

Decided to top this week. No signs of stress and the new growth looks great. Plant #1 is looking poor, and isn't taking up as much water as the other 3. The new growth on #1doesn't show any yellowing, yet. It is odd that plants 1&2 are so narrow compared to 3&4.

We got the ScrOG net installed and started the training process. We cleaned up the the bottom 4-5 inches of each plant to make watering easier and improve airflow under the developing canopy. Our interior tent fan died and we are waiting on a replacement.

We are continuing the ScrOG process and tucking branches daily. The nodes on these plants are super close. Not sure if that is helping us here or not. I was hopping to see more lateral growth by now. We took the Advanced Nutrient Grow, Micro & Bloom to full recommended strength this week. No sign of nutrient burn, so we will continue that strength next week. Typically there is only 2 waterings per week, with one just having the Cal-mag and B-52 nutrients,

We are continuing to tuck branches. I'm going to try feeding with every watering to see if I can get additional growth. We have also topped some of the bud sites that are coming up in the net.

The increased nutrients seems to have boosted the ladies without any signs of burn or lockout. The plants are touching together on two sides now. We have a very thick mass of fan leaves under the screen. We will start defoliating some to increase airflow and light penetration. Hope to flip them soon.

This is the 1st week of 12/12 light for the ladies. There has been and continues to be some stretching this week. No signs of pistils yet. We did some light defoliation to allow for better light penetration. We also added in some of the flower nutes with the lighting change. Plant one does have some yellowing on the outer edges of some of it's leaves. Thinking it may be a PH issue, or possible zinc

Well we discovered that the light timer malfunctioned last week and we ran half the week with 24hr light. So this is now the first full week of 12/12 lighting. The ladies responded nicely and continue into full stretch. We added a 6"x6" netting about 12 inches above the other one. The light was also lowered to around 15". There was a slight lightning/yellowing of the leaves, but has seemed to mostly clear up. It could have been the odd lighting schedule mishap or a nutrient/PH/Water issue between watering. We did a fair amount of defoliation in the upper canopy to allow for better light penetration. I'm wondering it was too much or not enough. Time will tell. Night time Humidity is a constant battle now. The tent has 2 small dehumidifies, a tower fan and 6" inline vent. I'm afraid to let the vent fan run all night, as it drops the night time temps, below 50. As the buds stack however, we may have no choice.

The bud site are starting to pop more for sure. We threw in a little holiday cheer as well. We decided to go ahead and defoliate again to allow for better light penetration. No lighting issues this week, thank goodness. Humidity registers pretty high at times. Especially at night. Running the 6" Exhaust fan, tower fan and two dehumidifiers are still struggling at night. The shed is insulated but not air tight. So running the 6" Exhaust all night drops the interior temp down too low. So that's a no go at the moment. No condisation or other problems yet.

Grow seems to have slowed this week. I'm sure some of it has to do with the defoliation we did. I would have expected the stretch for another week or two. The buds are starting to fill out more and trichomes are forming on sugar and fan leaves. I'm a little worried about the dense canopy. We had such a bad experience on our last indoor with aphids, we decided to add some lady bugs as a preventative. We are keeping water soaked raisins for them to eat. Right now I guess they are just on guard duty, but that's okay!

I flushed the girls with regular water and a little molasses at the start of the week to help curb the nute burn. It did show up more this week, but doesn't seem to be spreading. Not a ton of Growth or bulking. There was sum bulking and more trichome production. After the flush, we didn't water for 6 day, and then cut the nutes back. The PPM was around 1100 this feeding. We will continue to watch the plants this week and see if that PPM is still too high.
