Okay so this was my first ever shot at growing for real and I decided to do some autos from MSNL. To be clear this is an after the fact diary. This grow ended a month ago but I have discovered this awesome platform for learning and evolving as a cultivator. So these ran alongside a couple of Lemon Haze but I chose this for my newbie entry. Used RO water and SuperThrive in glass to papertowel to soil mix pretreated with Happy Frog microbes. Everybody broke the surface with 48 hours so off to a good start.
Nothing but misted water for now. This is gonna be an organic grow so nothing but the Happy Frog in the soil and that's it. These things definitely take off faster than photos especially with side branching. One of the caramel got stunted by a transplant that was really unnecessary but the pot cracked so it is what it is...
Wow I am impressed with the branching. Can definitely tell there are 2 phenos. The stunted on has a sativa pattern but is extremely busy with tertiary growth already but not vertical while the other is more rangy but very even. Maybe I'll get the massive pheno lol
This week is the start of LST. You can see from the pictures that they took to it rather nicely and started to really bush out later in the week. Not quite as tall as the Lemon Haze but thats to be expected. I've seen this strain come back and get monstrous though. Y'all check out the journal by @Tonks
So I know I should praying fora onger veg but I am getting excited to see these things sex under 20 hours of light. The anticipation is killer. All plants are about the same size now with Lemon Haze slightly taller. We're gonna see what happens during the stretch.
And there they are.. This week is all about watching the bud sites 'shoot their pistils' lol. The q tip effect is in full effect now. Cannot wait to see what kind of production I can get from these gals. We shall see....
The girls are going nuts building up those bud sites. Its a beautiful thing to watch these plants grow from a taproot to calyx to flowers. It's God's gift for sure.
Of course when I get off to a good grow naturally something has to ruin it right? Well the plumbers didn't do their job right and my floor looks like moldy bacon so I gotta have people all in my fragrant house or move but for now I have to exile my beauties outdoors with my photo Afghani and OGK that I started in the tent with these. Sucks since its 90°+ every day 😪 and they are far away so I'll probably get some separation anxiety. No pics this time. 😞 sorry.....
Yeah so this grow is shot... maybe. I run an hvac company and summer runs me ragged so I barely have seen these girls and I had to go at night. Need more rain as I'm dropping leaves like crazy. However I think I see some color maybe. We shall see....
So they finally came home to finish up but the damage is done. Severe heat stress and lack of water have left them with alot of leaf loss and damage so yield is no longer optimistic. However there is something to be said about the durability of these genetics. And oh yeah you can see the 2 different color phenos. One looks like caramel and the other is very colorful probably from the blue black genetics in its background. Pretty though...
The finish is on. If they hadn't been so stressed I'd say let go longer to bulk up but they haven't got enough leaves lol since I never fed them. There is no need to flush since there is nothing left in the soil anyway and the colors that were possible were expressed. Coming down soon...
The strains I grew are a testament to the genetics of MSNL because by all rights they should have died outside in the dead of a heat wave. My yield suffered but they made it and one is very colorful.
SO as predicted my yield was a little over an ounce between them but after the dry and cure the jars told the story. One smelled of coffee and the purple one smelled like berries. The flavor was much the same profile for each. This is a great evening strain as it gets you very relaxed while the purple pheno will put you out. I would recommend but probably gonna seek out new strains to grow next but we shall see...
