This strain is a homebred cross of 2 favorite Mephisto grape strains.
Sour Crinkle #21
(Grape Crinkle x Sour Crack)
X
Sour Stomper F7
(Grape Stomper OG x Sour Crack F5)
Both have strong grape influence and also both have Sour Crack in their direct lineage. The Mephisto strain Double Grape is a cross of Sour Stomper x Grape Crinkle.
If this cross turns out as expected, it will be progressed to F2 in 2021 to become an auto breeding parent for further crosses/breeding.
The seed that was planted was small but healthy. After 24 hours she had germinated. She should be up with permanent leaves soon.
XXXXXXXX
I rushed transplanting her because that spot in the tent was quickly falling behind. She didn't make it.
Started a new seed and the sprout is healthy. I plan on leaving her in her 10oz cup to see if she will catch up a bit.
She is doing well and is now at Day 4.
Begin week 3
DAY 15
This homebred had gotten off to a slow start and has been neglected as I have been unable to personally attend to her these first few weeks.
Despite this care, she is doing well under her standby care provider and will be ready with 5-6 nodes by topping day (DAY 21). She had been growing in a 8oz plastic cup and was finally transplanted into her final pot today.
DAY 21
She's healthy and was topped today. Still being cared for by surrogate caregiver, it looks like she has 5 nodes remaining.
Begin week 4
DAY 23
She took topping in stride and is moving forward with vigor. She has started on high PK nutrients to increase bud sites.
DAY 25
She's healthy and starting to explode with growth. She's still in vegetative growth stage but about to turn the corner. Very happy with this homebred.
Begin week 5
DAY 30
She has large fan leaves to power her growth and is very healthy. Pre-flowers are forming everywhere. She's about to explode with growth.
DAY 34
She has started to show some nugs forming. She has large, wide indica-type fan leaves that will power her growth. She's healthy and doing well.
Begin week 6
Shes showing budsites everywhere and getting quite large. She has a slightly open structure with broad fan leaves and should continue to do well.
Begin week 8
DAY 50
Sour Grapes is big and seems to be getting healthier looking leaves. She is covered in fluffy pom-poms and starting to thicken. She is 3 weeks behind the rest and will geat a chance to spread her arms and get all the attention alone for 3-4 weeks when she finishes.
Week 9
She was started too late and as a result has been 3 full weeks behind the others her entire life.
Unfortunately, this has resulted in her being treated like the others...including chasing nutrient issues that show up late in every grow. As a result she has been negatively affected and still has yellow and green leaves indicating mag and/or P deficiency/lockout.
Will give her a flush and try to bring her home with a flurry. She's fairly healthy and her buds are stacking. This should be the tastiest ever. 3 weeks left...
Begin week 10
Been trying to get her back to a healthy state. She had been treated the same as others that were 3 full week older. She seems to be making a bit of a recovery.
DAY 69
She definitely looks better than she ever has. Most of the damaged leaves have been removed and new growth is healthier. She smells sweetly floral and is bulking up.
Begin week 11
She's been alone in a corner under a 2700k Autocob.
DAY73
She's not been drinking as much, so may be nearing the end. Buds are fat and full and smell wonderfully fruity/flowery. Will let her dry a bit before harvest.
DAY 75
After drying for a couple of days, gave 1 last flooding to runoff of ph'd water with Mammoth P to water in some top dressed bone meal. She has hard, dense resinous buds. The smell is literally "Sour Grapes"...like a Grape Jolly Rancher.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She has juicy buds and a great bud to leaf ratio. Not many seeds (8-10) were produced from the initial cross, but all remaining seeds will be germinated for 2021 breeding to produce an F2 generation for continued use of this strain. The fastest germinating will be used to produce pollen to fertilize all remaining seeds for selection.
Begin week 12
DAY 80
She's been alone in a reflective corner with a 2700k Autocob overhead. I had top dressed with some bone meal about a week ago but then didn't water it in before deciding to chop. It was watered in about 3 days ago with Mammoth P. Doubtful if it will make a difference in such a short time...
DAY 82
3rd day hanging. Buds are still firm...signaling dense nugs under the sugar leaf.
Definitely taking this to F2 next breeding season.
She grew like a champ with little effort and put on the bulk well at the end. She was a little on the small side, but there is zero larfy popcorn and her buds are solid and dense.
Looking forward to breeding an F2 generation during the spring outdoor season.
@FreshCoastOrganics, Thanks. I've sampled a couple of smaller nugs that tasted very good and worked equally as well. Looking forward to getting a good cure on these.
@Gr33nFi3ld, I rushed getting this gal transplanted too soon and she didn't make it. I have another that has sprouted and expect tomorrow will be Day 1, once her first true leaves come in. This grow will be 1 full week behind schedule.
