Things got hectic during the majority of the grow and I was not able to upload anything like I had wanted.
I vegged for 10 weeks in total and am in the 8th week of flower. Ran 18 on and 6 off for veg.
The soil that I have used is Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil amended with Mykos Mycorrhizae, Worm Castings, Perlite, and a line of Down to Earth Products(Bio-Live, Granular Humic Acids, Kelp Meal)
I transplanted into the 3 gal pots in week 2 and then I topped both plants in the same week of veg.
Gave a top dressing of worm castings and a little azomite on week 3.
Gave a top dressing of worm castings, kelp meal, feather meal, and seabird guano 8 weeks into veg. Defoliated the same day that I gave the top dressings.
Gave a top dressing of worm castings, kelp meal, seabird guano, and azomite exactly two weeks into flower.
This week has been easy taking care of the ladies. They have been doing quite well. They are starting to get a little purple on the tips of the leaves and have some amazing looking orange hairs. The smell is definitely on the fruity side. A little bit of strawberry comes through which is awesome.
All in all I cannot wait until they are ready to come down. I am still seeing some clear trichomes but the majority are cloudy now. I'm gonna wait another week, maybe two before taking them down.
@BDar_medicine, thank you so much!! I've already got my second up and going, some Putang (mms), Strawberry Cough (dutch passion), and Khem Kardashian (bred by a forum friend). All just got planted and are in the first week of veg today.
I only had pH issues when I tried watering more than every 4 days. I also found that it responded really well to me pHing the water between 6.5 and 7.0.
If I tried watering too much or with a lower pH(6.0-6.4) I got signs of nute lockout due to pH imbalance. Runoff I was getting tested around 5.6 to 6.1.
I didn't really have any problems from about week 5 of veg until the 3rd week of flower. Then it started popping back up. I had read that humic acids help so I top dressed with a little of down to earth's humic acid dry amendment and let them dry out for 5 days after watering the humic in. It took another week before it bounced back.
5 days in between watering and a mid to high pH ended up being the magic for me with it.
Also, I started watering about half from the top and then watering the tray underneath to let it soak that up from the bottom as that seemed to help.
Honestly not sure if any of that helps...I'll have to go back and check notes later and see if there is anything I missed. Good luck though...super stoked to see how they turn out for you!!
@avid_grow, nice work there. Especially as you say it is your first grow! ... I imagine your next run will be even better.
The taste sounds fantastic.
My MMS - Chick Magnet is starting some strong funky smells, I have some weeks to go yet (I'm in the middle of week 7 of flower with her).
I'm curious what you did to help with ph issues during your grow. I have ph issues with one of my plants (7weeks into flower)I'm hoping to sort out soon so I can get her across the line for harvest in reasonable shape.
@GYOweed, ya, where I live I get really low rh so I try to leave the fan leaves on to get a slower dry. Managed 8 days with the Star Pupil and feel pretty good about that.
@The_Bearded_Grower, Thank you - this is my first grow ever. It has been so exciting with so many ups and downs. Had to move the ladies 3 times during veg and I've had some PH problems but they have held steady. 👍
