Hey what's up! Keeping this grow ball rolling with some different genetics. I really wanted to try a bit of the Seedsman stuff to see how good it is. This has some high reviews on their site so I wanted to see how it would stand up. I'm going super simple on this one and really trying to revert back to a less is more approach on my growing style and eventually get into organic growing or maybe no till. I've been doing a lot of mainlining in my last 2 or 3 runs so I really want to take a chance to go this plant in a more natural sense and just let it do it's thing, more or less. I will probably top it once or twice and LST the branches to spread them out a little bit. Nutrition wise I will keep it as simple as possible with the basics and really try to work off a medium level of nutes. I keep burning my leafs tips on all my plants so I need to break it down and figure out what's causing that. I may try a method where I cycle through a few supplements on a daily bases but feed the base nutes daily. So I will always go with Micro, Gro and Bloom but then my supplement schedule would be like Monday = add Calmag, Tuesday = add Floralicious, Weds = add Koolbloom, etc etc. Looking forward to this one as this is the most ideal temperature and conditions for my grow space and a time where I have achieved solid results when growing during this period a year ago. First week notes: - I mixed a very small amount (maybe a tsp to 1000ml of distilled water) of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide into my distilled water to germinate the seeds and it worked very well as you can see in the photo - In my last bunch of germinations I have not achieved such long stems popping out from the seeds - I literally gasped when I opened the paper towel as I probably left them a bit too long but it all worked out - Seeds were germinated inside of a DVD case, inside of paper towel. I wrap the DVD case in a small towel and set it in the oven with the light on and the door slightly ajar to create an slightly warmer environment at approx 28 degrees celsius - I am careful to check the temperature often and open or close the door in order to raise or lower the temp if needed and try to avoid as much fluctuation as possible - Once seeds are showing tails, they were placed in the jiffy pellet and in the tent under 24 hrs of light until petioles opened - Once opened lights were set to 18/6 - Nute solution was diluted to 400 EC and incremented up by 50 EC at each feeding, once feeding in the morning then one at night until 1000 EC was reached Here we go!

- We got a quick one on our hands here, rapid veg growth this week - Up-potted out of the fabric pot mid way through the week and she exploded after that - Nute levels going up but diluting to EC 1100 and she seems to be responding well - Struggling with keeping humidity levels up but she seems to be doing ok even though RH levels dipped down to around 45% at points during the week - Main stalk seems to be thickening up nicely after I added a fan and slowly weened her out of the humidity dome

- I added silicate to the feeding regime this week as I had heard on a few podcasts it's good to boost strength in the plants stems, starting out slow with it - By weeks end I could definitely see some more rigidity in the main stalks of the plant but this could just be from natural growth - The T5 LED I use for vegging my plants has 2 bulbs, one is a white spectrum and one is a blue spectrum - The combination of LEDs keeps the plants growing short and stout as you can see in the final image above - I picked up a book called "Organic Marijuana Some Style" recently and after reading it decided I wanted to try supercropping - The book is slightly dated but loaded with some pretty useful information that has opened my mind to some different styles of growing - Supercropping is a way to boost plant vigor and mainly in the side branching while maintaining a reasonable height and will fit in perfectly for my grow space due to the fact I have a slight height limitation - In the past I have implemented Main Lining or Manifold training but want to branch out and try different methods by keeping it simple with this grow in order to continue learning - My plan is to bend the main stalk (90 degrees) instead of topping (removing the top of the stalk completely) and letting it heal and continue growing - First time trying this so it will be a fun experiment for me - Plant showed some good vigor in the first few days of week 3 and became almost root bound by weeks end - Transplanted to 5 gal fabric pots near the end of the week (V20) - The GOG in my tent is kicking my other plants but it growth rates! This is a super vigorous strain from what I've seen so far and I'm excited for this one - Run off EC is showing 1350 EC and input is about 1220 EC so she's in a good place - Really going to try to avoid over feeding on this run as most of my plants from past grows have showed burnt tips so I'm definitely going to try to avoid that in the "simple" grow.. we'll see if I can pull it off!

- Week 4 of veg and she is showing some vigor and good health - The side branching is growing in nicely and my plan with this one is to implement some supercropping (HST) as a training method as soon as she gains a bit of height - She's already bushing out nicely so I'm really excited about this plant - Plant was shifted around in the tent a little and light was placed at a distance until my light meter had a reading of approximately 5000 Lux - Plant seemed to respond positively to the position change - Growth from 1st and 2nd nodes removed at end of wk 3 and start of wk 4 - Not exactly sure why I did this but I wanted to see if it would concentrate growth in the higher growth tips and it seemed to work - I figure that the lower most nodes probably won't reach the canopy and I'll be lollipopping the plant anyways in the first few weeks of flower - Silicate has only been added to the feeding schedule for 2 days on then 2 days off - I will ride this feeding schedule out until I flip to flower - My first time using a silicate product but I can really see the difference in the stems of the plant, they look a little more robust.. maybe I'm just crazy

- Top of plant was supercropped on first day of week 5 - Healed itself completely by the end of the week and the main stalk and surrounding branches are much stalkier - Amount of nutrient water was been increased to 0.75 gal and showing a nice 10-20% runoff - Run off EC showing about 300 more than in flow which is where I want it - Plant is getting nice and bushy! Might have to flip her to flower after week 6 as she is a strong grower!! - Will continue supercropping the main branch as she gets taller until the flip

- This plant is a beast, she got too large for the veg section of my tent so luckily I have room in the flowering side to move her over - She was supercropped at the start of the week and bounced back quickly (within 24hrs) and the branching has kept up with the main stem - This will produce a nice bushy plant with many main colas - The larger fan leaves are being tucked into the plant basically on the daily, just trying to get some light into the lower branching - At the very end of the week a few large fan leaves were removed from the very bottom of the plant, nothing major - The plan is to start lightly defoliating from the bottom up to about a third of the way up over the next few weeks until I flip her into flowering - I planned on going 8 wks into veg but I may have to flip her after 7 weeks due to the fact that she is just growing so damn fast!

- Main stem is just shooting up at every chance so she was supercropped at the start of the week - Recovered in less than 24hrs, she's showing some real vigor - Mid week I gave her a slight defoliation by starting to remove the growth from the bottom third of the plant - In my particular growing environment the lower bud sites don't develop very well so I'm learning to remove those growth tips earlier in order to concentrate more growth to the top of the canopy - Large fan leaves blocking lower branches were tucked down into the plant - Used some LST to tie the lower branches to the top of the pot in order to get them to grow out and away from the branches above them, this is to prep the plant to grow it's colas with a little more space between them - I've added a second fan as of last week and have noticed a big difference in the leaves of the plants, no more PM! - At the very end of this week I decided to top the plant in a spot where it all the lower branches were at the same level - Topping now will spread out the hormones and create a nice even bush when I flip to flower - 1 more week of veg since I just topped her in order to let her recover, no training at all next week - The next week will be a recovery week before the flip!

- This was a set up week before flowering - I've gotten a bit "handsy" with this girl but it's good practice for other times I want to supercrop - I broke one of the growth tips at the very top of the stem so I lost a major top cola! - At the very beginning of week 8 I pinched and popped a few stems that were starting to overgrow some of the lower stems - My goal here was to try and toughen up these skinnier stems and keep them even with others - She will now have 7 days to recover before the flip - Removed some low growth tips and a branch from the very bottom that was a runt - Slight defoliation of maybe a hand full of fan leaves from the bottom - By the end of the week she is looking a lot tall and bushy, ready for the flip to flowering - Had to leave her for a few days and she looked a bit droopy in the last photo but I know she will bounce back nicely for wk 1 of flower

- The Powdery Mildew Battle has begun! YAY!!! - Seems like the PM I got on my last grow has stuck around to infect this grow as well.. fun! - I've added more and fans dialed down my humidity but PM still wants to mess with me - I ended the week by heavily defoliating the plant and foliar spraying a mixture of 30% hydrogen peroxide and water at 30ml of hydrogen peroxide to 1 Gal of water - I stripped the plant quite heavily and left only the top fan leaves - I then completely drenched the plant in the HP mixture until it was complete dripping - I also sprayed the walls and floor of the tent and tried to wipe down and clean as much of the tent as possible - Typically I would not spray the plant down like this in flower but since it's only wk 1 I think she'll be ok

- Well she seemed to have bounced back very nicely after the hydrogen peroxide foliar spray down - She shot up in height about 4-6 inches in what seemed like a day or two! - Throughout the week she looked very very healthy with leaves in "praying position" - By weeks end I found more PM residue on the leaves in an air pocket close to the tent walls - The HP foliar spray was used again on this select section of the plant - PM spotted leaves were removed carefully - Everything else seems to be going great with this plant, she's showing nice vigor - Started to see pistils around day 14 of flower - Hopefully shes done with her stretch as I'm running out of light space up top! - Getting excited about this beauty but hopefully I can keep this damn PM at bay

Week 3 of Flower - PM battle rages on but I seem to be winning! - I removed a fair amount of side branching to open the air flow in the middle of the plant and it seems to have been keeping the PM at bay - I probably lost a good half ounce or more of yield to this but it's better to lose some than the entire crop.. stupid PM - She seems to have stopped her insane stretch so this is good - Other than the PM she seems to be very happy and healthy, lots of positive feedback from the leaves and overall just letting her stack up nicely

- Pretty standard week minus the PM Battle that has been raging.. I'm so sick of it!! - It's been a daily occurrence to wipe the PM off the leaves but at least it hasn't taken over - Buds are filling out well, trying not to push this one with the nutes - I have noticed that this plant is a really light eater due to the fact that I have been going very easy with the nutrients and EC levels and she still has burnt tips - The smell is starting to ramp up and she smells very nice! Fruity and fragrant - Defoliation occurs often as I've been removing leaves that are heavily affected by the Powder Mildew - Since I'm feeding nutes at every meal I'm not too worried about removing the fan leaves so I'm trying to keep the RH down and air flow constant - I'm fairly confident I'll get a decent yield out of this one yet!

- I left the house for 4 days!!!!!! AHhhhhhhhhhh! But I had a auto watering system set up and it worked out wonderfully! - Upon my return the smell had ramped up along with the trichrome production - This baby is getting sticky fast - I have one more week of nute feeding before the flush - Hoping the buds beef up a little more in the next few weeks - I decided to leave out the Koolbloom on this grow just to see how it goes - Smelling great in here but not sure I'm getting an OG Kush smell.. The Gelato smell seems to be over powering the genetics

- She gettin THICC - Haha well, not crazy thicc but she's filling out nicely - Watching closely for when to start the flush.. I always debate on using Flora Kleen or not but this time I may start flushing when I think there's about 10 days left use it for a few days at the start and then just feed her with straight PH'd water only - PM Battle rages on sadly, been removing and cleaning all the fan leaves daily to keep it at bay - I MAY have used the vaccumm carefully to suck it off the leaves.. not sure if this is cool or not but it seemed to have worked lol - I still feel like these buds are smokeable as the PM hasn't reached inside to the buds yet thankfully - I will most likely still give them a bud washing though before drying - Should be about 10-14 days left in this girl!

- Keeping the PM at bay, doesn't seem to be popping up as much but I'm still fighting it back a little - Buds seem to be beefing up nicely here at the end - Leaves seem to be very crispy and dry and it probably has to do with all the air movement I have in the tent due to the PM, have no other choice - Started to see some amber popping up at the end of the week here so more than likely to start the flush next week - Smells delicious obv from the Gelato genetics - Loving the Kush bud structure on this plant

- Flushing with PH'd water near the end of the previous week and all through this week - I'll probably bring this girl to about 65 days or so - By weeks end (F63) she was showing about 20% amber trichomes with mostly cloudy trichomes - PM was a real issue with is grow but I've kept ahead of it as much as possible, will probably wash these at chop with a peroxide/water mixture - Smelling fruity like a tropical smell - Nugs aren't as tight as I'd like them to be, not sure if it's just the genetics or that I suck at growing hahaha but a lot of the buds are looking a bit wispy - Frosted up nicely though so we'll see what she looks like at harvest

Buds came out a bit wispy after the initial drying phase but tightened up nicely in jars. She grew a bit taller than I expected but overall was a pleasure to grow despite some environment issues on my end and a small PM problem for a few weeks.

Well I had a few issues with PM this grow again. This showed up in my previous grow and the spores obviously stuck around and decided to effect this grow as well. For my next grow I'll try heat stressing the tent by pacing a heater in the tent and raising the temp to over 32C for an hour or more while closely monitoring it. I believe the seeds sprouted due to the fact that my previous plant hermed on me and I think a few nanners popped in the tent, so there must have been some rogue pollen in there. She grows quite fast and vigorously in Veg so stay active with training if you are performing that on your GoG plant. I fed her slightly light in the last 6 weeks or so in Flower with good response. I would say to keep your EC levels in check if growing with salts in coco. She seemed to react very positively to pinching and bending on the main stalk and really filled out when I did that. Same with topping. Side branching is very good. My particular pheno here had a higher leaf to calyx ratio so trimming was a bit tedious. The high is nice, it's a good hybrid strain. Would def grow again.

@Terpy_Sonic, download a book called "Organic Marijuana Soma Style"and give it a read. It's a quick read and in it he talks about plant training, among other things. It's a bit dated but I think the super cropping tutorial and explanation he gives will give you knowledge on another useful way to get more out of your plants. You should be able to locate the PDF online for free!
