7 out of 8 seeds sprouted. Roots look very good and grows fast. Switched from tiny sprouting pots to some a bit bigger. Will be put in 5 or 7 gallon pots when they are stronger.

I started with 7 out of 8 successfully sprouted Gorilla Cookies seeds, but as with most auto's it is not a great idea to start out in small pots and then replant when rooting is in the early stages. So 2 sadly died and 1 seems to be stunted in growth, but it is still alive and hopefully will catch up up to the others. I do have some Boom Boom spray I might try and use. I will use it when these girls are older and have to go into 5 gallon pots. I know, they should have started out in 5 gallon pots, but unfortunate circumstances forced me to do it like this. I'll start a new grow diary for my next set of FastBuds auto's and they are being sprouted in 5 gallon pots from the beginning. I hope to be able to invest in a Spider Farmer SF-4000 in the near future, but until then these girls will grow under a 125W CFL bulb and a bit of light from a germination light source.

Switched some things this week. No more 125 Watt CFL and germination lamp. Now these babies are loving life under the new Spider Farmer SF4000 running at 50%. I've also added some vermiculite to the substrate which seems like the plants really love. LST is also being started this week. Can't wait to see what these girls turn into.

Still growing great. Height hasn't increased much since I've started LST. Next couple of weeks will hopefully show more height and growth.

The LST have been somewhat successful. Over the next couple of weeks I'll see if it has been worth it. The plants are showing signs of beginning to flower. Quite fast to begin flowering, but I was hoping for more size/height before entering flowering stage.

These girls are looking good. I still hope they will get more height the next 2-3 weeks. Added a hygrometer this week so changed my humidity, before it was more a guess. They have slowly begun to show signs of flowering. Some might not begin to register it as the flowering period just yet. I know this and I'll therefore most likely be adding more flowering weeks than the strain says it takes.

Things are slowly beginning to look good. Gained some height this week although I would love to see it gain even more height. Flowering has begun and I might have to edit my earlier weeks, since it is really now it is beginning to flower. My main issue is space and it is going to be difficult balancing it to get the most out of these nice Fast Buds autos. I will be trying them again and giving them the proper start. Even if these have been stunted and stressed a bit in the beginning, they'll still produce a decent amount of flower (I hope).

Alot of buds on this one. Still a bit on the tiny side, but there is still several weeks to go, before harvest. So hopefully it will gain a couple of inches more or 5. Trichomes are beginning to show, which tells me this will be covered. Even the sugar leaves are beginning to get frosted. I've defoliated a bit, but other than that, I haven't done much but let the girls grow.

Who doesn't love the flowering period? Especially when your plants really starts flowering... This is the period where growing really gets exciting and fun. You start to see a glimpse of the finished product and the excitement rises. They are beginning to smell a tiny bit, but I'm having trouble deciding just what it smells like. The smell will increase, so it will get easier determining what smell this strain has and how intense it is. The slowest of the 5 sprouted seeds have turned out to be the biggest one and it hasn't even really begun to flower yet, although it is really close. I was NOT impressed by the Green House Seed Company fast flowering fertilizer, so I've switched to BioBizz. I will be using Bio Bloom, Bio Max, Bio Heaven and Acti Vera. All in all, they are looking good and it is nice to see so many top shoots flowering 👌

First of all, sorry for the picture quality this week. Due to space issues, I had to move these girls into my other tent and it is using a 400W HPS lightbulb. That is why the pictures are different this week. I'll try and get some natural lighting for next week. But they look nice, flowering nicely and are getting really sticky. The smell still isn't that bad, but I figure it'll change a bit over the next 2-4 weeks. I don't think these will finish at the time labeled on the strain, but it will be close. They are really packing on the buds and it is hard to see it is a auto plant. Most auto's have more foliage, but this isn't that bad. It has only had a few minor defoliations throughs its life, so it is easy to handle. You aren't left with a bag of leaves every other week. They feel very sticky and it is easy to see/feel the glue aspect of this strain. But, if I had to choose one surprising aspect of this auto strain, it would would be its trichome production. It is already beginning to show on all leaves, even the bigger sugar leaves. Very few auto's produce this amount of trichomes and that is just one more way this strain resembles a normal feminized strain. Oh, almost forgot. I started out with 5 sprouted seeds and 4 of them have grown at somewhat same pace, but one of them was a straggler. But now it is the biggest one of them all, which show that some of the slow ones can end up being the biggest plants of them all. It is only in early flowering 10 weeks in, which is far from optimal, but it will most likely be the best of the bunch. Can't wait till summer and try it outside 😁

Harvest time is getting closer. At least for two of the ladies, but I will most likely push them 1 or 2 weeks more. I'm hoping to push the flowering a bit more, but when they are ready, they are ready. They haven't received any nutrients, well not the 2 mature ones. The others have been getting same nutrients as last week. The smell really isn't that bad. I thought it would be worse, but they do have a nice smell to them when you get close. My guess is that they wont produce too much dried material, but they also suffered a bit in the beginning of their life. I will be growing these again and give them much more love.

2 have been cut down and are drying. The rest has shown issues with pests. Aphids have attacked them so I've been trying to wash those little bastards off the girls. But it seems as if some of the damage has been done. I'm going to see how it develops over the next week or so and if it doesn't improve I will chop these down and put them in trash. But I'm still hoping. Note to self and everybody reading, make sure to leave enough space for proper air circulation!

My last gorilla cookie and by far the slowest of them all. It will take several weeks before it is done. I had to discard my 2 others due to insect stress. So all in all, this wasn't a good run. 2 plants are finished, but due to the forementioned issues they didn't grow well. But they did give some 50g dried. Looking forward to finishing this diary and start a new when summer arrives.

@MrHightimes, Haven't been that lucky yet. FastBuds are a great company with some amazing strains. I'm also very interested in the purple lemonade, so I'll have to follow you hehe. You're NOT a FB whore. I you like them, their seeds and service - It's quite alright to promote them and advertise for them. I'd love to someday be lucky enough to be gifted some seeds. So I consider you lucky 😀

@gj420, Yeah they sent me 5x 5 seeds. I'm gonna look like a FB whore lol! But hey! so far I'm completely ok with that!!!! I'm excited to do my Purple Lemonaid! But I have some Night Owl Seeds I wanna try tooooooo.... too many strains.... not enough time :P

@Fast_Buds, I'm looking forward to trying your genetics. So far I'm very impressed. I will be running a diary of Orange Sherbet and Wedding Cheesecake if they successfully sprout. I really wanted to try the Strawberry Pie, but my local headshop didn't have it in stock so I picked the Orange Sherbet and chose a free bee of the Wedding Cheesecake, because it just looks so amazing in all the pics on your insta profile.

@MrHightimes, Yea I might have started the LST a bit too early. I hope they build some height now, but at least the LST have worked and now there are several top sites. So it's not really for yield, but to learn some new techniques and fail a bit, but hopefully also have som success.

Damn man, I had a similar scenario with spider mites once. Lesson learned good job otherwise man 👍👍
gj420
gj420commented4 years ago
@Gassedupfromthemaskup, It was aphids or whatever they are called. It was mostly a moisture issue due to my lack of space combined with too many big plants. I needed to lollipop them way more. The reason why they were messed up was because I read that these bugs could be washed off. But I only had my shower to do a proper cleansing and the water wasn't damn hot, but it wasn't cold. I don't think the plants liked that at all. They seem very stunted by it. My first time in tents, so bound to have some issues. Especially because I have a tendency to overfill my tents LOL

Hey! I'm a first time grower and wanted to know why did you waited so long to feed those? I have 4 autoflower of fastbuds and Biobizz nutrients and i was looking to know what was the right amount to guive without overfeeding.
gj420
gj420commented4 years ago
@Jerma_grow, Hey there, I have been giving them Green House Seed company's veg fertilizer, so they have gotten nutrients from very early on. I've just chosen to switch from the Green House Seeds "Fast Flowering" nutrients to BioBizz. The main reason was that I didn't see any remarkable difference with that fertilizer. It has very high numbers in P-N-K, but it is very concentrated, so once it is diluted with water it is nowhere near those numbers. The amount of fertilizer always depend on the strain. Some can take more than others, but you also have to understand that you don't really feed the plant, but the soil. It all depends on how much uptake there is or else you'll just keep the soil with a big amount of nutrients. And in some cases that can kill some plants. But most can take a lot as long as the fertilizer/water concentration isn't too high. That is also why most feeding schedules aren't meant for pushing plants to the max. It is the general safe level, so in most cases you can easily double the amount of fertilizer compared to the suggested amount. But one important point. DO NOT over feed in the first couple of weeks. I would suggest using the recommended amount of fertilizer for seedlings. Start with the first feed, root juice type of fertilizers for the early feedings. Once the plants really starts growing, you can start with the suggested amount of fertilizer and then push it up and up until you see some upward turning of the leaves. That shows you are being too heavy on the fertilizer, but a good flushing should fix that right up. I use the BioBizz because I have used it before with great success. Although I don't use the entire line up of products, I'm using the essentials. I also use the Acti-Vera and Bio Heaven, but haven't added it to the nutrient history of the diary yet. Just a bit lazy hehe. On of my friends are also using it right now, so I was a bit inspired by his plant development. I'm especially a huge fan of Bio Heaven, but it is one of the more expensive products. But I do feel it does give some extra to the finished product, that you don't get anywhere else. I use Bio Bizz all Mix for the soil, so that also makes it easy to decide to go for their line of nutrients. I have a friend of a friend that produces a fertilizer called Big Plant Science and I might try that one out next time. I hope that helped and answered your questions. If not, just let me know and I'll try and give a better explanation. If there is anything else you need advice on, just ask.
