Sour Crack is growing slower than the 2 S.O.D.K., but it was the only Sour Crack seed of 4 that wouls even germinate.
Cover crop is coming in nice, too!
Made a sprouted seed tea using the cover crop blend from blackswallow. I didn't strain the blended sprouts enough and little bits got stuck all over the leaves. Hard to tell, but now it looks like there's PM because of the seed bits stuck everywhere. Live and learn!
Sprayed with an aerated compost tea. Everything looks happy! Ripped up the cover crop as it was getting unruly. Covered the mulch up with my custom soil blend.
On day 53 I found nanners on 1 branch of the Sour Crack. I think this strain is unstable as I couldn't get any of the other seeds to germ, and the one that did has hermied. I will keep pulling them and continue to grow the plant as far as I can.
Otherwise, everything looks and smells great!
Everything's looking and SMELLING great! The Sour Crack has stopped putting out nanners, but I am checking daily just to be certain. I removed a few fan leaves here and there, but only if they are blocking a bud site. Otherwise no defoliation whatsoever. I think this will be done by the end of the year, but I will give them as long as it takes!
Although this plant yielded so little, the bud has a good flavour. I have found about a dozen seeds in the first few grams, which is more disappointment with an already disappointing strain. More reason to never buy this strain again!
Since only 1 of 4 Sour Crack germinated, the one that did hermied, and is very small compared to the rest in the same pot, I can't recommend this strain. I'm thinking I only got an ounce or so. Yikes!
That being said, what's there looks great. I'll post a smoke report when it's cured a bit.
I loved growing S.O.D.K., the one pheno had a higher nutrient requirement, but no problems at all. No problems with mold or hermies. Highly recommend this strain!
The Sour Crack was done earlier, so it's drying in paper bags, and the S.O.D.K. is hang-drying in the tent. The was the first time I tried putting plants in 48h of darkness- can't say definitively if that impacted much.
I will say that my hands were covered in resin from just removing some fan leaves. The smell is amazing!
