Got my new 350W ceramic heater. Time to reorganize the setup to get ready for repotting them in the future. Set heater to turn on if it dips to 68f. Moved things around. Keeping the exhaust fan on when the lights are off now. Before I was opening a top port and using a tiny fan to blow air out when the lights are off. With the top hole sealed it keeps the heat and humidity better. Haven't need to turn on the humidifier in a few days since it's consistently between 50-60rh. Plants are growing great. Gave them some BioWeed and ProTekt along with the Foliage Pro. The from-seeders have veg growin' out the cotyledons! Got a good purdy feelin' about this grow (my 2nd ever, 1st indoor).

Quite a week! Got em in plain undersized saucers with rocks in them to allow airflow. My experiment with having them on top of a plastic storage bin top was foiled by water's ability to pool in the plastic indentations (stupid idea - was gonna vacuum up the water but it's annoying, ineffective and loud). Plants look mostly healthy with a few random things. Crystal (bottom middle) has some curls to its leaves and I suspect might become mail. Ice (top left) looks really good. GSW (bottom left) is thick with a little droop. Chemdawg clone (top right) is looking indestructible and familiar (I grew its the original from bag seed). I think they're all still recovering from the repotting and all the moving around I did by lifting them. I need to engineer a better way to water them without having to move the big heavy (gonna get heavier)pots so much. Update: Removed Ice and Crystal from the tent as they're both showing male parts. I overwatered GWS so it's a bit droopy but at least I know what I did and I have no doubts it'll recover. Topped GWS and some Chemdawg stems. Did some HST and LST on both. Took out some sucker branches off Chemdawg.

Harvested the 2 males. Burnt tips on GWS after watering with solution that sat & contained Bio Weed + Diamond nektar. Plants on nifty new square farmer bases (a good buy). Look them up, they're inexpensive and easy to test or vacuum up runoff. Defoliated these bushy ladies a little. Tied more Chemdawg branches. Added Great White mycorrhizae and soil from removed male to mulch. Gonna try going another 1.5 weeks then switching to 12/12. Gonna exclude Diamond Nectar and Bio Weed for this grow moving forward. Used them in my 1st grow but probably overused them due to less quality soil and no experience.

Went basic w/ nutrients this week - silicon solution and foliage pro. FIM, tied, and defoliated GWS early in the week. Such a bushy plant I should probably take more off of to improve light penetration and airflow, but don't want to shock it. Top canopy is looking like a table though, so I can't wait to see what happens when it starts the flower stretch next week. Chemdawg is nice and spread out and ready for that 12/12.

Plants looking healthy and colas looking a bit more like bud sites every day. GWS is a bushier plant with broad leaves, whereas Chemdawg clone is lankier with kind of weird looking pistils. Chemdawg was grown from bad seed originally and I did find 1 seed in the original harvest (without noticing bananas or anything abnormal during trimming). So I'm hoping it doesn't go hermie on me this time under much better conditions (original grow was outdoor with some stresses). I'm not too confident on my ph readings. Noticed my Vivosun ph meter feeling a bit off an slow to respond, so I tried calibrating. It doesn't recognize the 4.0 ph solution so it's now officially useless after 8 months of use (tried soaking in water for a few hours to no avail). Ordered a new ph meter from another brand. 1st half of week: 6.5ph mix .25t foliage 1.25 bloom .5 protekt .5 molasses Slight nut burn tips on Chemdawg. Not concerned. 2nd half of week: Defoliated both for the last time. Mix _ph .25t foliage 1.25 bloom .5 protekt .5 molasses

1st half of the week: Trimmed a few leaves to open up the canopy for bud sites not at the top. In retrospect, I should've trained GWS to spread out a lot more. But hey, I kind of wanted a bushy plant with less hands-on than my 1st. Mix ?ph (broken meter) .25t foliage 1.25 bloom .5 protekt .5 molasses 2nd half of the week: Dehumidifier placed in tent. Levels were between 52-59%rh after watering. Mix 5.9 ph .25t foliage 1.25 bloom .5 protekt .5 molasses PPM = 639 (Got a TDS meter). Don't know much about TDS but I'll do some research.

Flowers lush with white hairs on both plants. GWS buds are a little bigger than Chemdawg's. Frosting looking crystals forming on the sugar leaves around the buds. I noticed the fattest bud is the one connected to the stem I did the most HST on. Definitely will do more of this in future grows. Adding some Beastie Bloomz, which is supposed to help buds fatten mid flower cycle. Runoff 6.5ph 809 ppm New mix 6.3ph .25t foliage 1 bloom .25 beastie .5 protekt .5 molasses 618ppm 6.6 ph runoff

Buds are looking frostier and bulkier each day. Accidentally touched a GWS bud and got a good whiff. Oh my goodness. Almost a vanilla-flavored sensation. Chemdawg smells more potent-diesally now than it did grown outdoors. Excited for them both as long as no one starts trying to make seeds (foreshadowing). This shit is bananas /: GWS is outshining the Chemdawg bag-seed monster-cropped clone... which by the way, has 5 little bananas emerged from the top buds! No!!!! Discovered them and plucked them off as best I could, but I'm scared there could be some seeds. Maybe poor genetics (got the original seeds from a bag) contributed to it "herming out." I found only 1 seed in the original outdoor grow where the plant got stressed several times. Surprised to see 5 lime-colored bananas since the plant is in a much better environment. Maybe light leak? Gonna have to check that. Watered with a new pump-action sprayer instead of the traditional water bucket. Takes a lot longer, but I'm not just dumping a bunch of water on the plants and having to vacuum the mess. Seems more efficient but I might need to give more water since I'm not getting any runoff using the same .5 gal watering per watering. 729ppm 6.34 ph Mix 1t bloom .25 beastie .5 protekt .5 molasses 5 bananas on Chemdawg ):

Grow Questions

MagicPlants17started grow question 4 years ago
Bananas appeared on 5 Chemdawg flower tops and were there up to 5 days. Should I be worried that GWS next to it may get seeds from this? Removed them but I'm scarred now they may have pollenated the same buds, or worse, the GWS next to it.

Hi !

I'm gonna plant sprouts in solo cups, but thought it might be cool to use clear plastic cups (to see when roots reach the edges). Would it be bad to use clear plastic cups? Maybe the roots/soil won't like the light idk?

Buds are getting more glittery and hairs are starting to turn orange. Plucked 2 more bananas off Chemdawg. Hoping that's all of them, but keeping an eye out. Noticed some slight purple coloring of fan leaves on Chemdawg, mostly towards the back of the tent for some reason. Added some close-ups of trichomes from my new microscope. Few more weeks to go 'til harvest! I'm also excited to start germinating seeds for my next grow. I'll be using a separate homemade veg tent w/ T5 fluorescents. Check out my other diary I'm starting for deets. 1st half of week: 6.25ph 665ppm watered Mix 1t bloom .25 beastie .5 protekt .5 molasses 2nd half: new mix 6.2ph 621ppm Mix 1t bloom .25 beastie .5 protekt .5 molasses

GWS buds are lookin bigger and frostier. Can't wait to try them out! This is the kind of crystalization I was hoping for when I decided to grow indoors over the winter. Chemdawg buds aren't quite as far along as GWS, still lots of new white hairs. Love the diesel smell (: Plucked a couple bananas off both plants. After I harvest, I'm gonna check for light leeks I suspect might be causing them. Started flushing. Then read some articles about how it's "bro-science" so now I don't know what to believe! I'm growing 2 GWS clones next, so maybe I'll a/b test flushing one and not the other. 1st watering of the week: 6.2ph 585ppm 5t bloom .5 beastie .5 protekt .5 molasses 2nd watering: Flushing with tap water + ph 6.3 forgot to ph the 1st pour on GWS |: 3rd watering: Flushing with tap water + .5t molasses

Last week of growth! Just barely starting to see a few amber trichomes, but still mostly milky (both plants). Chemdawg is getting a lot more purple and one of the branches is getting weighed down by the buds, hanging off the side on the far right all nilly willy. Plucked a couple more bananas her (hoping for no seeds!). Gonna harvest week on day 72 of flower. Flushing with Ph 6.15 351ppm +.5t molasses

Harvested on day 72 of flower after 24 hrs darkness and 7 weeks of veg. This plant grows super stout, leafy and bushy. I learned a lesson about not spreading out the canopy enough and not removing enough shoots before flowering. The result was beautiful top-shelf buds on the top, but many larfy, leafy buds under that top canopy that didnt get much light. These became my shake buds for rollin less potent joints. I'm growing 2 clones off this plant next and i will make sure all of the plant gets light. Got 74gs of top-shelf and 25 gs of larfy nugs n shake. Never had any probs growing it other than over-watering a little in veg, but really a damn healthy plant throughout its life!
