I'm determined to get one of the remaining test seeds I have left from @SweetSeeds growing! Those of you who have been following my other diaries will know that I have had no luck with my efforts thus far. My previous attempt at Red Poison fizzled out quickly as the seedling just wouldn't root. Could this be the one? The seed germinated over night, with a tap root emerging 24 hours following that. I moved the cracked seed into the rapid rooter and the little seedling sprouted a day or two after that. This was another seedling that took her time shedding the shell. She wore the helmet for about 5 days before the first leaves emerged. I was able to move her into a bucket 2 days after she shed her shell. So far so good. 🤞 Thanks for tuning in ✌️

Could it be? The Red Poison is still alive! I've been doing top feedings through the week. Roots started emerging through the net pot only yesterday. She seems to be happy enough. Branch manager, Twigs, seems pleased with her progress. Until next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

D21: The Red Poison is making steady progress. She had a nice little spurt of growth over the week and her root development has started to pick up steam. Her needs have been modest up until this point; I only needed to do one light top up and feeding during the week. Her PH has been stable around 6.1; with PPMs running around 450. A little boost in nutes with her rez change today. I won't be risking any potential setbacks by topping or FIMing this auto so I began some LST training today - I yanked her over to one side and tied her down. Hopefully, I can round her out a bit. I haven't done any significant LST since my first grow so this should be interesting. 🤞 I may or may not use a ScrOG net - I'm waiting to see how she develops. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

I guess I've been a bit of dick to the Red Poison this week. I thought her nutrient mix was a little hot when I changed her rez last week but I ignored it and she's now suffering from some nitrogen toxicity as evidenced by the dark leaves and the tell-tale claw. Lightened things up quite a bit today with the rez change and skipped adding the Grow nutrients altogether while she recovers. I'm not sure how successful my LST attempt will be. Branches are quite small and tightly bunched together so it's tough to get in there and pull things apart. I kind of wish I rolled the dice and tried FIMing her. I'll keep fiddling around with her as she grows. She'll be what she'll be. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

D35 F3 Pretty good week for the Red Poison all in all. As mentioned last week, her feed was too hot and she suffered some clawing due to nitrogen toxicity. I lightened her feed up quite a bit with her rez change last week but after a couple of days decided to just give her a 36-hour plain water flush. There is still clawing present on the leaf tips but I'm hoping we're out of the woods. She went into flower about 3 days ago on D32. She's had a nice little growth spurt this week and has started to fill out and begin her stretch. Her roots have started to develop more mass as well. I gave her a gentle feeding following the flush and will gradually increase her feed through the week as required. I can already see hints of red in the developing bud sites and can't wait to see how she looks and smells in full flower. Until next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

D42 Great week for the Red Poison. She's recovered nicely from the nitrogen toxicity and is growing strong. In the 3 days that followed last week's update she grew another 14 inches, reaching a height of nearly 30 inches. As I don't have a lot of headroom in this tent, and saw on other grower's diaries how tall this lady can get, I decided to take action. My earlier lazy attempts at LST didn't really pan out so I decide to break out the ScrOG net and give her the full pancake treatment on D39. I super cropped the main stem and pulled everything apart as far as I could. She was a very willing subject. Her branches were supple and bent to my will easily. 😏 Folding her into the net took 10-12" off the height of the canopy. She fully recovered within 24-hours and is on the move again. She's starting to get more hungry and I've been upping her feed through the week. I've held back on the FloraGro this week and started adding more bloom nutes. Her colours are starting to pop now - lovely dark purple around the buds and frost starting to form on the leaves. Looking forward to seeing how she evolves. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

Steady week of progress for this pretty lady. She put on another 9" since last week and her buds are starting to plump up. She has a sweet, berry fragrance - especially noticeable when you rub up against her. Her colours are gorgeous - I love the purple hues around the buds. She's been getting more hungry and thirsty, demanding just over 2 litres of water/day. I've been increasing her feed bit by bit throughout the week. PH has been steady with no wild fluctuations. Excited to watch her finish over the next few weeks. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

Pretty solid week for the Red Poison other than the fact my PH pen went out of whack and the poor girl had to suffer through a couple of days of sub 5 PH levels. I actually noticed some light brown spotting on a couple of the leaves on a plant in my other tent so that raised my suspicions to a PH imbalance. I broke out the liquid test kit I keep around as backup to confirm and sure enough my pen was actually providing readings a full point higher than what they actually were. Anyway, I ended up chucking the pen in the trash as I couldn't even calibrate it again. I think I'm done with these cheap PH pens and will rely on the liquid test kit while I research something that is more reliable. I've been looking at the Bluelab stuff. Any other suggestions are welcome. Just a waiting game now as this girl probably has 2 weeks more to go until harvest. I've upped her feed gradually, more to the bloom side, and have cut out the FloraGro altogether. Her buds are a gorgeous purple and she has a sweet berry, slightly citrusy scent. Her smell is certainly getting much stronger which forced me into finally installing the carbon filter in this tent. It was getting a little dank in the basement. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

A fine week 9 for the Red Poison as she continues to pack on weight and get stinkier. Trichs are mostly cloudy throughout the plant now so I started her on the flush today. Ideally, I'd like to see some amber by the end of the week before l chop her down. Hopefully I've timed things right. 🤞Excited for a pre-Christmas harvest! Thanks for tuning in ✌️

Just a few days left until harvest as this pretty girl fades into the sunset. Trichs are cloudy throughout the plant but I'd like to see a little amber before I pull her so I'll give her a few more days. She continues to pack on mass and her skunky scent hits you in the face as soon as the tent is opened. With any luck she should be harvested and mostly dry by this time next week. Thanks for checking in 👍

An early sample in the vaporizer shows some real potential. The buds have a beautiful smell - berries and diesel; somewhat reminiscent of shoe polish. Taste is much like the smell - fruity berries and gas. Very enjoyable. A nice cerebral high at first and then settles gently into your muscles and bones.

Shout out again to @Sweet_Seeds for the opportunity to grow this unique and wonderful strain. Other than a bit of nitrogen toxicity due to overfeeding early on, the Red Poison was a pleasure to grow. The most unique plant I've grown to date and I loved watching those beautiful purple buds plump up and get more fragrant through flowering. I was almost sad to harvest her. Almost. The biggest downside with the whole grow came at the very end when it came to drying her - she dried much too quickly. I have very low humidity in my home now that we're in the winter months (<30% sometimes) and she was completely dry within 3 days. I think the buds would have been much tighter had they dried more slowly but it is what it is. As it is they are quite light and crispy. I did have a humidifier running in the tent when I was drying her but I should have had it turned up much higher than I did. I've thrown some Boveda 62 packs into the jars so hopefully I can get some moisture back into the buds while she cures. I harvested 90 grams of dried purple buds - 63 grams of which I consider grade 'A' and will be smoking - and another 27 grams of smaller buds that I will use to make hash or tincture. I probably could have pulled a bit more out of her had I ramped up my early, lazy attempts at LST or rolled the dice and tried FIMing her. For my next auto flower grow I am fairly certain I am going to try FIMing the plant and see what happens. Thanks for tuning into my ramblings for another grow. I should be spinning up another auto flowering adventure within the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned✌️ Wishing all my GD friends a dank & hazy holiday season. 🎅💨

@Doktorholland, Yes. I had a humidifier in the tent but I should have had it running at a much higher RH that I did - it also didn't help that I neglected refilling it on day 🙄

Yes berries diesel and nail polish remover super fire 🔥 when you burn it it’s sweet lemony berry and gassy dankness, everyone should love this strain. It starts off like sativa really brings you up and then does a crazy neural and physical relaxation, too much you will find yourself on someone’s floor temporarily paralyzed lol 😂 I know because this Christmas 🎄 we quarantined and got the most lit 🔥 in the Superbs 👌🏾

@CannaScuzzyB, Ya, she's starting to get more thirsty. The plants in my other tents are sometimes drinking up to 3 litres/day. I had bad luck germinating the other strains I got from Sweet Seeds but the Red Poison is coming along nicely. All the best with yours!
