Day 7: Today when I woke up I had a slight burned tip on the Gorilla (you can see in the picture). I was concerned a little at first, but decided to go on with the plans of feeding her with Advanced Nutrients as listed above. The Strawberry got fed with 469ppm and the run-off was 492ppm, sounds good to me. The Gorilla on the other hand, had more salt built up (therefore the burned tips), I fed her the same as the Strawberry but the run-off was around 572ppm, did 2 more run-offs and got her down to 480ppm. When I got home from work I got surprised at how much they grew.
Day 8: Fertigated them twice today at 9AM/9PM, with 430ppm / 6.1pH and the run-off was pretty much the same as the intake. Tomorrow I'm mixing a new bottle of Advanced Nutrients with a little Formulex (will be adding it during week 1 and 2) as listed above. Will try to increase the ppm a little more slowly this time.
Day 9: My pH meter is RIP. Since I'm using the pH perfect base nutrients by Advanced Nutrients they're supposed to keep the pH on the correct levels for you, we shall see about that. Fed them with 480ppm this morning, run-off was about the same as intake. Also after work I gave them another feed, and increased the ppm to 550, run-off was the same as the intake. Let's see if they can take it! I have also just noticed that my coco sinked down alot and my plants are quite low compared to the edge of the pot, next grow I'll put some extra!
Day 10: The feeding went great, since they grew quite nicely, but they are both showing sings of calcium deficiency today. In the morning I gave them a 550ppm / 6.5pH feeding. At night I fed them 2ml/L of Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra at 550ppm and pH around 6.0 (I'm using a pH drop test kit to measure, so I can't get super acurate readings unfortunatly). Lets see if they recover. I will keep alternating the feeding between CalMag water and my normal feeding mix. Once I start to see no signs of calcium defiency I will start to add the calcium itself to my normal veg feed mix, thats the plan!
Day 11: In the morning I fed them 600ppm / run-off was around the same as the intake. Fed them Cal-Mag Water at night, just like day 10. I've been reading about silica lately and since I have Rhino Skin by Advanced Nutrients available (even tho they don't really recommend it in their charts) the next mix I make I'm going to add some silica.
Day 12: Fed them with 600ppm in the morning, run-off was about the same as intake. When I got home from work I mixed a new bottle and added 1ml/L of Rhino Skin to the mix, fed them with 550ppm, I came back down on the ppm because the Strawberry has some yellow spots and I have some new burned tips on the Gorilla.
Day 13: I have Piranha and Tarantula by Advanced Nutrients available, in the charts they don't recommend them for veg, but after some research I think they are harmless for veg phase and they will help develop the roots even more! So today I came back up on my ppm to 600, but added Piranha and Tarantula to my mix. My plants are still yellow on the tips, which I think are from my very strong HPLED, I have it raised to 120 cm from my plants which is as far as I can go. They are still growing regardless, but not looking super good. Also I'm thinking they're having some nitrogen toxicity issues, because of the yellow tips / light burns on the tips so tomorrow I'm mixing a new bottle but I'm removing the Formulex from the mix and reducing on the CalMag a little since I don't seem to be having issues with that anymore.
DISCLAIMER: As the tittle says this is my first grow, and all the "moves" I'm making on the feeding are based on a lot of internet reading, so I just want you all to know I'm writing wtv stupidity I'm doing over here so you all can learn from it if I fail miserably.
Day 14: I'm an idiot. It's a magnesium defiency. I'm gonna start spraying them with some Cannacure today and order my new pH meter right away, since I could be having alot of pH problems which can lead to alot of magnesium deficiency problems. Fed them 500ppm in the morning, and 500 ppm CalMag water an night. I hope they recover from this. I switched them to 20/4 so I could start spraying at night without the chance of more leaf burn.
