FB2 Purple Lemonade Auto

Not much to report this first week. The first true leaves are out and the second node is forming. Just spraying with pH 6.5 water when the coco dries out and looks like the nutrients are doing their job and not burning anything. These may be a bit slower starting than in soil but we shall see...

The updates for the first and last couple of weeks are always boring but anywho its just pHed water until they get ready for LST. This isn't as uniform as OS but the phenos are closer than WCC. I lost my current WCC this week to an accident so it killed my vibe. Saw the QP potential in that plant but we shall NOT see....

Out of the three strains these two have stayed pretty much uniform but on the smaller side of what I like to see 3 weeks in. I know there isn't a problem with nutrients so I'm thinking I gotta do better about checking my water pH when it takes more than one watering session to use up that batch of water. I check it when I make the batch but not everytime I pick up the sprayer to use that same water. Thinking carbonates are raising my pH. Gonna find out next week which will also be time to reamend the medium with some fresh food for the microbes to feed the roots. We're gonna get these babies big. Granted this is about the time that my last PL showed pistils so let's hope for a longer veg. Anyhow we'll have to see how they react to the topdress and their new strictly 6.5 pH next week. At least neither of these looks super sad. The same can't be said for one of each of the other two strains in this grow...

So finally got pH stabilized but in my efforts not to overwater these babies I think I may have underwatered PL2 as its leaves looked super dry when I went in to reamend my medium for the video blog contest. Shouldn't have waited so late but now all new growth look happy and healthy. Looks like both of these will make it but we shall see... Started slight LST on PL1

So far this latest experiment has been proving much less than stellar. Admittedly coco is brand new to me and I've only recently began amending soil in the last couple of years so much of my experience is with liquid nutes in soil but I honestly didn't expect to do this bad. Granted pH and fertilizer brand have a lot to do with my issues since I have uniformly seen my plants crisping up using the Happy Frog which I amended with right after pH issues had already stunted their growth so they just never recovered before they got smacked again. The Dr Earth PL is green and healthy but as I said stunted compared to my soil grown version. This grow isn't about yield though. Its my chance to feel out this new system and decide if there is hope in the future lol. Will never use Happy Frog early on again as right after applying PL2 began a slow burn while OS2 died. WCC 2 is the best looking of all but seriously small compared to her sister. The slight LST may be a waste of time as this strain flowers fairly early and I've already got pistils...

Finally gave up on the Happy Frog PL. All the fan leaves burned up and started on the budsites. It was lost cause and as much as I hated to do it I pulled her up. The survivor is super stunted and barely has a qtip for a cola so not expecting any yield, just many lessons learned. Went back to the drawing board on my medium and popped some random beans to give the new mix a whirl while I'm waiting for my new testers to arrive. Maybe when the new light gets here this one will decide to actually grow. Disclaimer: all problems were user error and is no fault of the genetics from FastBuds.

She's trying her hardest to hang in there. Something about this coco just isn't taking with a couple of the strains. I started a new plant in the same mix only subbing 25% soil with the coco and the early results are much better than this round. Can't wait to start some new testers in that medium. Gave the appropriate feed this week for her age but not expecting any miracles. We shall see...

Since I thought with all the early issues and slow growth that this whole coco grow was a bust but one of each strain made it though with much much less spectacular results. Flowering is almost over for this one and the Orange Sherbet gets chopped in the morning. Wedding Cheescake was the only one that was up to par but it is what it is and valuable lessons have been learned. My whole substrate mix has been refined since and the results of my 12 new tester runs will prove that this was a fluke so we shall see... * of the two plants I've grown of this strain I've had one that was barely purple and this one that has none at all that I can see. I've had lower night temps in flower and slightly raised the pH yet I haven't seen the purps that newbs are seeing. Funny how people will waste a seed planting in a solo cup and not know how to feed it or anything and yielding a quarter ounce yet the buds will be as purple as Barney the fucking dinosaur and I've dialed in a perfect environment in order to see nothing but green. I want a real purple plant and this particular pack of seeds just won't give it to me😩 😫 😤 just my luck 😆 🤣 😂

So she's finishing up and stinking nice but once again I'm upset at the total lack of color. Maybe the phenos in my seed pack just didn't have strong genes for purps and more for yield. I even had lower night temps earlier on and still missed out on that legendary color I've been chasing for the past 6 months lol. Anywho its time for some dark and chop this week before we end up with a bunch of CBN. Harvest to follow...
