So, if you wanna be a monkey, be a mtf Gorilla!! @Methodman - welcome to the brix!
Want to upgrade my flavor stash. Got allready 5 strains a side , going for the long cure run. GG cant be missed in that list.
But hey, whats in a name?!!?
She got directly into a jiffy pad, coco pad, with a smooth 6.0 ph. No additifs!!!
Im trying to look what suits me best in terms of germination, so i got an other strain germination started at the same time, or with like 10 min in between.

Week 2,
Gorilla glue is doing good. At the moment she gets a little bit outgrown by her compagnon plants, but she will soon pick up pace.
As Im only using veg mode now on the v600. I can use some extra colour in the mix.
Ive placed a extra cheap led spot with only blue red combination, to amp up capture of the leaftissue. Lets see what it gives. Forgot to mention in the cash express diary, the led spot also has 1 IR led, 2 warm white and 2 cool white leds.
In terms of feeding, i go for the low/no feeding mode, to see and get a better understanding of how my homemade soil works out. I think its better to bypass if needed, instead of feeding from day 1.
I use the humic acid for every shower they get in the morning, but in a very gentle way. The evenings are just plain water.
The humidifier is back in place so thats fixed too.
Thats it for this week,
Thanks for reading, feel free to check out my other diaries, and if you like what you see, give it a like. πππ

Gorilla glue, starting to feel comfortable in the growbag, surrounded by her compagnons.
As the cash express, she will get mainlined by the methode ive seen by silky smooth. Top grower in my opinion.
So max 2 weeks to go before getting started.
The compagnon plants are a mix of nemathode repeller, lise repeller and nitrate fixers from the air. Or is it carbon fixers? Again, correct me if im wrong.

Gorilla Glue is the most difficult 1 to get on point. I did a gentle move on the top 3 nodes to 1 side to open up a bit the center. But it didnt liked that at all it seems. Only 3cm growth and no spectacular moves on the lower nodes.
I think after the change to the big tent and the brighter light, Gorilla glue will be the one to wait for to start up bloom. She has a hardtime dealing with stress to my feeling.
Took some ph measurement from runoff water and it came out 6.4
π¦π¨βπ¬

Gorilla Glue doing not the best job ever, but hey, she seems to feel better day by day. She hasnt grow that much, but she recovered from some nutrients lack and light stress. But only a few days in the big tent and she shows again a better green and pace gowing up in terms of growth.
All plants some kind of following the same LST methodes, this 1 is most difficult the get an even canopy.

Week 10,
Gorilla glue doing fine. As the smallest of the bunch, i dont know if its the genetics, the seed or me to blame?!?!
Water consumption is much less compared to the others. Some leafs are still under attack of spidermites, but nothing compared like the Thai or Express.
Lights are at 13/11 for the moment and we will see who starts bloom allready and who doesnt. Thats from last friday, so only 3th day in bloom phase.
About the spidermites, i actually ordered the orio bugs 2 days before i received my new microscope (Γ60 - Γ120) , and so i learned very much about pests, as its my real first encounter, but the trips are the smallest problem and are beaten for sure, but spidermites are the real cause of trouble in paradise. With the new microscope, it was piece of cake to determine who i was up to. So orio bugs do eat spidermites, but its less their thing, instead ive ordered phyto mytes, arriving between tomorrow and thursday.
Ive allready deranged the spidermites with changing their conditions and the orios do get a defensive line up. So even thursday is no problem so far. No real nests are formed. But i noticed a good quantity of eggs laying around. Orios dont eat them, thats why. So Im preparing for a second wave.

Week 11,
Gorilla glue being almost last, 1 day before sweet thai, to flower and still looking like a dwarf beside her sisters. Nonetheless, she started directly with some nice pistilformation in only a couple of days.
She took some extra height but nothing like the others or especially the SAD.
She also seems spared from most spidermites pest. Much less than the cash express and sweet thai, but much more than the SAD.
On feeding, i only feeded today, no feeding during the week.

Week 12,
Gorilla glue took advantage from this weeks change. Growing good budsites all around. What changed is the height of the pot. Its 5cm up now, so the canopy gets more light efficiency and it responded that way.
Still the smallest of the bunch, and that will not change anymore.
This week 2 feedings as there are a few leafs at the bottom that starts to fade out into yellow. Only 2nd feeding was with bloom added.
Others rainwater ph 6.2-6.3

Gorilla glue, alive and kicking! Huge difference in growth/flower build up. She does need much less water in comp with the SAD for example. Nonetheless, the main bud has grown a lot and assures me that ill get to taste this soon.
The defo is again minimalistic, maybe 3 or 4 leafs tops.
2 feedings this week with above mentioned mixture. Rest was with ph water.

Gorilla glue doing good, same problems here as with the sweet thai and cash express. Homemix soil is no good. At least not in those proportions.
Brought down the waterings bcs it keeps feeling heavy, while the toplayer is crusty dry.
So far the bad news.
The good news is molasses unsulphured came in today and ive added a touch for this lady. Maybe the microbes could change settings down there. At least, thats what im trying to do. I hope i get some good feedback.
Only 2 waterings during the week with ph water 6.3 and this evening 700 ml with the molasses and the microferm and just a dash of pk plus. π€π€π€

Taste notes update later. Good germination, but from that moment slower than its compagnons. After having spidermites, and trying to get rid of them, she stayed infected and stalled where the others didnt got pest free, but it didnt overtake them like the gorilla.
After a good check, it seems like no spidermites got really into the main buds, the lower popcorn just got started getting webbed at the internode.

High,
Its phacelia thats blooming, the grass type you see here and there is japanese rye and the busy bushy soilcovering plant is vetch. Have 2 little flowers from those 2. And some red clover.π
I cant say of its beneficial, but i like the way it looks. There were some yellow mosturd plants and lupinus. But these where very vigoreous and overgrew the ladies.

Bellissima!
@Organic_LarF,
I started with a led amsterdam grow light,
unfortunately it burned out and jo had to temporarily adapt with a led I had in the house.
a week in all to switch to marshydro ...
seems to be doing a good job now, but time has taken a lot longer!
Looking good! Hopefully those new predators take care of your problem!
If you donβt mind me asking what is the βhomemade anaerobicβ in the nutrient section?
@Organic_LarF, Thanks for the explanation! The name gets cut off on the nutrient section so I wasnβt sure exactly what this was.
This makes total sense, what youβre describing is almost bokashi composting minus a couple steps but I know that a lot of people who do bokashi have a spigot on their bucket to get those nice juices at the bottom and usually mix those into a tea or nutrient solution.
A family member got a vitamix foodcycler for Christmas. Iβve been using my fan leaves and old roots in that composting machine and it basically turns it into a dry amendment. I feed that to my worms in my castings bag and they absolutely love it. I also use it in my compost teas. Anytime I use it mycelium attaches itself to it and starts to decompose back into the soil. I try to reuse as much as possible similar to you but Iβm always trying to learn new ways so thank you for explaining your process!!
@FreshCoastOrganics,
Indeed, kind of bokashi.
But I got that allready going for a year, the bokashi buckets with small tap to drain those juices.
But as i hadnt good microbes to add, i dont use it that often.
Now since 2 weeks i have this 2 liter microferm(its fermented 2, but with aerobe bacteria instead of anaerobe, its a treathment with the juice after the fermentation) so i can use both now, the closed on water and the bokashi.
πΏππππΏ
@FreshCoastOrganics,
And as a last, deFharo is a grower here. He got a lot of diy fertilizer and bacteria on his diaries.
He is a true botanics kind of guy that likes it as natural as can be. A real inspiration to me.
Give it a visit, and give a like, bcs this 1 earns each one of them. π¨βπΎπ¨βπΎπ¨βπΎππ
ππΏπΏπΏπ
@ZioSem,
Its not that simple, they are like 0.1mm of size. With a microscope Γ―ts possible to identify.
If you want pics, just Google spidermite and you will see.
Its handy to know and recognize these pest bugs, so when you der them under microscope, you can act immediatly.
πΏππππΏ
@ZioSem,
You can try to spot them with the naked eye. They are most to find at the underside of the leafs, and whitish dots appear on the upperside of the leafs. Most of the time it starts where all fingers connect.
One's it gets out of controle, realweblike things will start to build.
And the most devastating is when buds are completly webbed.
The thing that harms the plant is, they suck out the chlorophile(white dots) so the plant cant make fotosynthese at a wanted level.
πΏππππΏ
