W4TW PT II (Weed 4 the wife) preface: In my previous journal I discussed I'm not much of a smoker, however the wife is. This is my ongoing project to grow her some pot our spare bedroom. In the previous journal, I fell into EC issues, as well as mistakes by me during flower and had to cut 2-3 weeks early. I will be growing the exact same strain this time to give it another chance, and addressing mistakes. Here's a list of issues I've addressed. 1. EC issues: I'm going to be lowering my EC input goals significantly, lowering pH slightly and changing some of my products. 2.Better Lighting: For Veg - Mars Hydro TS1000 (dimmed during early growth) and a 35w blurple LED. For Flower I will be using the same mars hydro ts 1000, as well as a "600 watt equivalent" blurple LED. 3.Utilizing beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizae from the start to build a healthier root zone. 4:Adding Silica to assist in plant health. After some research I discovered the benefits of silica. Coco has no silica, nor does basic 3 park nutes. 5: Praying to the weed gods for a better harvest With all that being said, let us begin. 11/4/2020 - I put the seeds into the glass of water at 3pm. I used 4 seeds, although I'm only going to finish with two plants. This gives me some wiggle room for failed germination, males and choosing the healthiest plants. 11/5/2020 - I put the seeds onto the wet paper towel before work at 6am. It will stay in there in until I see some taproots. Temp 22.8, humidity 55% 11/6/2020c - All the seeds have their tail. I'll give em one more day to develop a larger taproot. 11/7/2020 - planted them all. Mixed some extra perlite into the promix and added some beneficial microbes and micorizae. Turned the light on minimum 24/hr a day. Put the humidifier in. Watered all the plants 10ml of water. Well see how many pop! See ya in a week!

11/8/2020 - so far three have popped from the soil. Watered 30ml spring water. No nutes for now. 11/9/2020 - all 4 popped, 3 have their first true leaves. Watered with plain spring water with added microbes. next water will have light nutes, probably in 2 days. Noticed some unwelcomed fungas gnats, will deal with them tomorrow with neem oil and nematoads. For now i put sticky pads in. Switched to 18/6 11/10/2020- did a very light neem oil soil treatment and covered the top of the cups with pearlite to prevent them access to the substrate. Also put small yellow stickys to catch the adults. Will do nematoads sometime next week. So far theres very few ive seen, maybe 5 or 6... 11/11/2020 - / 11/12/2020 - gave the first nutes today at an ec of 300 and a ph of 6.0. Second set of true leaves are starting to come in. Havnt seen many of the fungas gnats. Only caught 5, but treated with nematoads regardless. 11/13/2020 - / 11/14/2020 - watered at an ec of 350.

Well i learned not to water peat like coco..... over watered but managed to fix it. I potted up and added perlite to the promix hpcc. (60/40) to prevent this. After that the plants has been growing rapidly. Thanks for taking a look, ill be here again next week. Daily reports below. Cheers. 15/11/2020 - watered until light runoff, ec 350. My ph pen is acting up so im done with cheap meters, gonna invest in a bluelabs pH pen, and while im at it ill get the EC one as well. My pH drip test read around 6 pH. Used superthrive today (1 drop per L) and top dressed with NPK raw microbes & micorizae before watering. One plant is perticularily smaller than the others, well see how she does. 16/11/2020 - I overwatered and had to transplant early. I removed some of the wet peat and potted up, I will carefully water it since its in a larger pot. I went with 60/40 peat and pearlite respectively. I used NPK raw grow microbes directly on the roots. 17/11/2020 - watered 200ml in a circle around the transplant, avoiding the edges of the pot. ec was 350 ph was around 6 (Still no pen, but using drip pH) 18/11/2020 - Pen arrived today, those bluelab tools aren't cheap boys. Letting it soak in the kci solution for 24hrs. Didn't do much in the room today, cleaned surfaces and equipment with 3% peroxide. 19/11/2020 - watered at lights on ec 600, ph 5.9. 20/11/2020 - did a calmag foliage spray. 21/11/2020 - cleaned tools with 3% h2o2. Wont need water today, maybe tomorrow.

Lots of growth this week. Watering at ec.9 (450ppm) and ph between 6 and 6.3 I use 75% declorinated tap water and 25% distilled water. Humidifier has had a rough time, my humidity has been a little lower than I want, but it is what it is. (~55%) theres snow on the ground here and my furnace is running, so the humidity is low no matter what. Ive been watering every other day One pheno is pretty sad, she will likely be culled but i want to see how she does. Shes much smaller and has different structure to her stems. The two larger plants will be topped tomorrow or monday. Have a good week See you next time Thanks for lookin

Having some slight issues with outflow PPM with my promix. Aside from that everything went well. Im flushing for the next bit with low ec water Ill take some better pics next week, been extremely busy with work and life. Cheers --WEEK 4-- 29th - Switched from additional Micro to additional Grow. A little bit of clawing, so reducing nitrogen was necessary. I will be keeping the PPM's at 400 for now (Noted for next grow). Topped the two larger plants and reduced lights slightly to prevent additional stress. INPUT PPM - 400 / .8EC pH - 6.3 30th - Light Calmag foliage spray. They look good after the topping. Temps were a little low today, around 22C 1st - / 2nd - Potted up, light water to let the roots spread a bit. Will water until runoff tomorrow. INPUT PPM - 450 / .9 EC pH 6.2 3rd - Watered until runoff. Started LST. I cut all the largest fan leaves off of the smallest plant, I'm curious how it will grow as an experiment. I will continue this experiment for the plants life. INPUT PPM - 390 / 900ec pH 6.3 OUTPUT pH - 4th - 5th - FLushed with 300ppm water.

I've missed a few days but the girls are alive. Been working out of town so long commutes and really long shifts. But we just went back into covid lockdown so I'm off for the time being. I had a really bad mag deficiency, I nursed them out of it with calmag and epsom salts. Some of the old leaves still show the deficiency, but the new growth looks normal. Still some purple stems, so adding extra mag still. They have their first day of 12-12 tonight. Watering every 3ish days. PPM's between 500 and 550. (PPM 500 scale) Gonna do 7-9 weeks of flower, I'll keep up with the weekly posts now that I have time. cheers

First week of flower (transition/stretch). It's been a great week for the girls. The signs of Mag deficiency are much better. Slight purple on some fan leaf stems, but nothing severe at all. Still dosing a small amount of Epsom salts as well as 1ml/L calmag nonetheless, its what the strain seems to want. Been running 550ppm's (1100EC) every other day, pH 5.8-5.9 until 10-15% runoff. 5L of water seems to do the trick for now. They're getting thirstier, and stretching hard! Stopped using superthrive, I'll use that only for veg Defoliated the bottom few inches of all leaves and stems. Maintaining LST until preflowers show, I'm proud of my LST this grow. She's short, wide and has robust veg material, and a beautiful even canopy. She looks smaller in the photo's than in real life. Humidity is between 50 and 60%, day temps 23-25C (73-77F). Once the pistils show ill bring humidity down to 50% Introducing my bloom nutes this week in a small dose (.2ml per L for part a and b) These will be upped every week, especially as the transition/stretch period ends and the plant no longer needs N. Switched to my bloom mycorrhizae and microbes to support the plant during this stressful time. (NPK industries bloom microbes) I did a small top dressing of high phosphorous bat guano, about a tbsp. This will be slowly provide P throughout flower as the mycorrhizae works its magic. (0-18-0) -----daily notes------ 28/12/2020 - dry out - last day of veg 29/12/2020 - Watered 560(1120ec)ppm ph 5.8. Top dressed with phosphorus bat guano, 1 TBSP for the whole plant. (0-18-0) 30/12/2020 - Dry out day 31/12/2020 - Watered 550 ppm(1100ec) Added extra mycorrhizae in the water. 1/1/2021 - HAPPY NEW YEARS~~~~ Dry out day. 2/1/2021 - Dry out day, added a gnome to watch over the girls. Will up ppms next week to 600(1200ec)

Been a good week for the ladies, pistils are coming and stretch is slowing. The tent is beginning to have a very slight aroma. Been reducing nitrogen. By the end of this week I'm off veg nutes completely (details below) Tried supercropping and cracked the stem. Taped the damage, hoping she heals. Stopped all training and defoliation, keeping the ties I have in place but not adding more. PPM remains 550ish Upped pH to 5.9-6.0 Stems are robust and strong Some very slight nute burns this week. -----Daily notes------ 3/1/2021 - Dry out day. Looking good. 4/1/2021 - Slowly reducing veg nutes. Tried supercropping and ended up cracking the stem. Taped it. Wont be doing that again lol. Hopefully it recovers. Input 570ppm / 1180ec. Dark green leaves followed by downward clawing and burnt tips is very indicative of nitrogen toxicity. Feed with pH'd water a couple times and see how she responds. The damage won't be undone, but if the spread slows and eventually stops, you'll know you're good.

As they say, its okay to make a mistake, just don't make that mistake again.... Lesson learned is to bring my veg nutes down earlier rather than the way I did it. I have a N toxicity. I was adding too much calmag thinking it was a cal/mag deficiency. But we're back on track. I flushed the plants with 2gal each on tuesday, watered them with nutes friday, and will flush next watering before feed. I've reduced calmag to .20ml/L. Aside from that, the growth this week has been phenomenal. Lots of bud sites coming in and getting bigger by the day. I'll make sure I'm light on the nitrogen for the rest of flower and hopefully it didnt set me back too much. I think stretching is over, or close to over. Dehumidifier has been running non-stop now, as the plants grow larger and transpire more. 1/10/2021 - watered 2x4 tent - didnt know about the N toxcicity. 550ppm ph 6.0 .5ml/l silica 1ml/l calmag .4 teaspoon Epsom total 1.1ml/l bloom A & Bloom B Bloom booster until 550ppm 1/11/2021 - Dry out day - 1/12/2021 - Watered with ph'd tap water, 2 gallons per plant. @60ppm ph 5.8 1/13/2021 - Dry out 24.9C in tent 22C in room 55% RH 1/14/2021 - Dry out 25.2C in tent 22.4 in room 55%rH 1/15/2021 - Watered 570ppm pH 6.0. much less calmag this time. Week 4 flower. Been a good week. Some light deficiency's going on, likely from salt buildup, so did a light flush friday before I watered. Buds are getting fatter, plants seem mostly happy. Upped my nutes to 600-650ppm this week, pH 6.0 Lots of floral and citrus smells, with a little pine. They smell great and the terps are coming in hot. I'll defoliate more next grow, definitely should have done a better defo but whatevs, some popcorn nugs for making edibles are fine. Did the final feeding Thursday. 750ppm pH 6.1🙏 From here on in I'll be giving ph'd tap water. Ph 6.0-6.2. PPM's out of the tap are around 100 The dehumidifier is working hard, the plants are really transpiring. Brought the temps down, between 22 and 24C lights on, 50% rh and 17-18C lights off. I'll be harvesting in ~2 weeks. Trichomes are milky, but none are amber yet, at least not as far as I can tell. I ordered a new jewelers loop this week to get a better view. The terps are wonderful. Spicy, earthy, floral but mostly lemon. The taller pheno is noticeably more floral that the shorter one, which is fascinating. Cant wait to get these girls dried and cured, just gotta fatten up & flush those nutes! Hoping to cut saturday the 20th. That gives me 2 weeks of plain pH'd waterings. Thanks for stopping by See ya next week

It's been really simple since I started the flush, just watering every 2-3 days with dechlorinated tap water, pH 6.0-6.2 - PPM's around 100 The trichomes at the top and middle of the plant are cloudy and starting to amber Huniditys holding at 40% - 45% Terps are coming in strong. They smell like a field of sweet spring flowers and lemon rinds. Undertones of earthy and spicy aromas as well. Didn't expect so much limonene but I'm not complaining. I'm hoping to cut Friday the 19th of Feb. This will allow the plant enough time to amber and develop some CBN, as well as gain some size. I have to cut both tents the same day and the Blue cookies are much more developed than the Cherry Head, but I've heard cherry head finishes fast in the 7th week leading into the 8th. If I have to wait I will, but so long as the plants are 25% amber or more I'll cut. Hoping for at least 2oz each plant this run. Made some mistakes, but there's a lot of buds on these girls, and flower went mostly okay aside from a bit of a N toxicity. See ya next week. thx for lookin cheers

I cut friday, she smells AMAZING Lots of purples on the one pheno Would've waited a little longer but works picking up again and I know I wont have time next week, but about 15% of the trichomes were amber, all the remaining were cloudy so she was ready for sure. Smells like Rose's, blyeberrys, lemons and fresh rain. Amazing. I'll report the weights when the dry is done. Drying at 55% RH at 21c /69.8F Hung them up in the tent with a fan on very light at the bottom that turns on every 2 hours, the exhaust fan turns on every 5 hours for 15 minutes, and the tent is zipped down a bit. Me and the wife will be doing 3 checks per day to ensure everythings good. Got the dehumidifier and humidifier running to reach ideal levels. Cheers.

This grow cycle had a couple issues but overall went very well. This strain likes Mag and is sensitive to nitrogen. I had a few rough weeks due to work and time but they powered through and took everything really well. First time with peat so that made some changes in my watering schedule, all's well and will maintain a lot of things I did here. Mars hydro performed well and my new nutrients have become staples in my grows. Looking forward to my next grows. The smoke is good, ill write more after the cure for a true comparison Thanks for those who looked at this journal, its been a pleasure sharing this grow with you all. Cheers Ryan
