Looks like I'm going to have to defoliate a bit but I hate to do it. I love those leaves. Most are still looking pretty green though! Even towards the bottom. North Shore Maui is growing slowly vertically and seems to be kicking over to flowering. First time so hard to tell but they are all looking different. Whispy hairs then buds. :) Plants are thirsty as hell and I am slowly adding Bloom nutrients to acclimate them. The organic stuff stinks... not gonna lie. I'd say half a teaspoon per watering. Been keeping the soil as healthy as possible. Some roots want to stay exposed so I am adding a little soil here and there as it erodes. I am going to post the bottom of the North Shore Maui to see if it's a problem or not. Looks pretty ugly. Things seem to be doing okay. Doing my best to keep the apt dark as possible at night so there is no light bleed. Also, bought a little fan and that solved the high humidity problem quickly. Still using the recharge product with every watering. Don't think I can overdo it. Want to try the living soil thing next time I think. Really excited to see what comes next in their development. Growing weed has made the pandemic much more manageable. Happy growing everyone. ----- 01/14/2020 Took them out of the tent. Feel bad for them... they now know what real sunlight tastes like. They look fuckimg gorgeous in natural light. Took a bunch of pics mostly. Defoliated the nsm but left everything else ------ 1/17/20 Dem flowers lookin nice to me 🙂

Does this look like fungus to anyone else? I was looking at the soil of a plant that is not doing well, and saw this. It could also be roots maybe?

Looks like Pythium. Its actually an algae that looks like fungus. Pythium is also called water mold. It comes with garden soil. It likes wet soil and high nitrogen fertilizer. And it flows with water. Guano over dose could easily kills plant root and promote Pythium. Why on one plant and not another? Some strains feeds more heavily than another. General idea is that Indica feeds more and can take more water. Some breeder put up information on feeding and "irrigation" tolerance. What to do with Pythium? I put a beneficial fungus call Trichoderma in the soil. I spread about and kill off most of the unwanted fungus. For guano and other garden fertilizer, start with one third the strength. My Sativa takes only 1/4th strength. And Indica usually takes up to 1/2 to 2/3rd strength. Good luck

Introducing a new grow light in week six. Still vegging. Do you think this will be too much shock for my plants given their stages of growth? I've already got it hung, night time is in 3 hours, but I was thinking of maybe raising it up and slowly lowering it to other lights?

Once a leaf starts showing signs of ill health (yellowing, etc), what is the point of no return? I have been working with this plant for a couple weeks and can't seem to get the yellow leaves to "heal" - new growth seems healthy to me however. Any thoughts?

No damaged plant leaves do not recover. Always look to new growth to see if an issue was corrected. 🤘😤

Anything to be concerned about? This is a plant that has had a history of yellowing leaves due to I think nutrient deficiency. New leaves are coming in light/dark green. Maybe caused by being too close to the lights? (It is my shortest plant with about 1 ft distance)

Are these little white growths a good sign? I can't tell if it is the beginning of a new leaf or if it's a sign that it might be time to start flowering soon. Sorry if it's a dumb question but I'm getting to the point where I think I need to go to 12-12 and want it to go smoothly

Switched to 12-12 and damn... that preflowering stretch is no joke. My 3x3 is overflowing with fan leaves. Humidity has gone up on its own since the switch, from ~20-30 to 50-70%. Idk why. Reading about flowering. Any pointers? Start adding flow nutes?Room up,maxed horizontal

Well you can cut down on some of the leaves if you cut bottom one third of plant extras out. Leaves, small branches, stuff that won't get light and will rob other grow points of growing energy. I would start introducing bloom nutrition but in light amounts. Have fans and fresh air circulating 24/7. If your humidity stays below 70 I don't believe you will have issues with proper air circulation. If center of plants are super busy can defoliation a little to keep air and light available to vital spots. Hope this helps and happy growing. 🌲🌲🌲👊

Accidentally broke one side of this stem while attempting LST through a lattice. My idea was, instead of simply topping, to bend the plant downwards into the lattice to keep it down. Problem I'm trying to solve is plants keep growing too close to lights. Thoughts? ✌️

Seems they have outgrown their space. A good rule of thumb is to flip the switch to 1212 once you have achieved half your desired plant size. Some varieties can stretch two to three times once they've been flipped to flower. You may need to perform some late lst to control them but they will keep pushing on as it early in your flowering stage. Topping in this stage may stunt them entirely. I'm not 100%.

Maybe this strain is harder to grow strain or simply has special needs. Should I cut off any of these stems that are not supporting healthy leaves? Or just leave the thing alone as it doesn't appear to be using much energy there. Pics of bottom and top of plant.. Thoughts?

Your leaves are fine. The plants will always stretch in this stage of flowering. For flowering you want light about 18 to 20 inches away for most lights. Some are way brighter then others. Adding a pinch extra phosphorus and potassium is what your plant will want soon. Good luck and happy growing. 🌲🌲🌲👊

Mildew? This has been on certain leaves of my plants since I got them so I didn't think much of them. But as I'm about two weeks into flowering, I want to see if this is possibly an issue. Have okay airflow in the tent but could be better. Humidity is 55% atmosphere. Thoughts?

Wikipedia.. You are my only friend.. A quick little search into Spinosad indicates they are Organic and can be used in Organic Agricultural. So when used with Caution and this early into flower.. I'd say GROW FOR IT :)., "Spinosad has high efficacy, a broad insect pest spectrum, low mammalian toxicity, and a good environmental profile, a unique feature of the insecticide compared to others currently used for the protection of grain products.[5] It is regarded as natural product-based, and approved for use in organic agriculture by numerous national and international certifications."

Sir I tend to ignore VPD or humidity as it were.. There is a whole lot of stuff that happens with proper watering.. And it's not even that complex it's more to do with saturation vs. intake and transpiration. My plants gobble up as much as 4 litres of water a day. when I had crazy high temps this past summer I still didn't bring the old humidifier out, I was adding more water :).. It's funny how much people get wrapped in the idea that there is this perfect temperature humidity zone.. I mean there is but at the same time lots of plants grow out of that perfect zone with zero problems.. Would you believe 95% of the mistakes I see on this website as caused by the growers themselves :). It's so easy to be like bad soil, bad lights, bad nutrients... What's a lot harder to do for us as growers to do is ask where in the hell did I go grow wrong? ha ha ha :). Anyway you learn the most by growing and trying new things so keep on growing and pushing for bigger better plants.

@Eldritchscotchtober, Dude me too.. Sometimes you learn more from screwing up then by doing great :). Keep it up and don't take my words as discouragement... Good on you for seeing your hand at play in all this... Sometimes now I intentionally "screw" up. As in I let things go to see what will happen ha ha ha ha.. It's way more fun :).

@DeadwebsiteBoringcommunity, Lol thanks. Yeah pretty sure most of the problems are caused by me. The Mac & Cheese is still struggling. Meanwhile, the Pure Vida which is supposed to be indica dominant is towering over the other plants. Really noticing growth there. Pruned some yellow spots from the Blueberry Headband - that plant seems to still be doing well. I've almost lost hope on the Mac & Cheese. The GG #4 hasn't done anything too interesting yet. Invested in some neem oil. Gave every plant except for the Mac & Cheese a quick spray to see how they react.
