Just found this site, I've already started my grow and I'm into week 2. Looking good so far! I've got her in Roots Organics Original soil with just a sprinkle of earthworm castings on top. I have more soil cooking right now that will be ready once this transplants and moves outdoors. Again, 2 1.5cuft bags of Roots Organics Original with 4 gallons of EWC, blood meal, fish bone meal, alfalfa, neem seed meal and a few other things. Nutes will be all natural fermented plant juice from things I find in my yard and neighborhood throughout the summer, I may even grow some comfrey in my garden for this in the future.
Just a simple LED strip for now at 20/4. I had her under the lamp at like 12 inches but was seeming to stall, moved to about 3 inches above to see if that makes a difference. The light strip isn't high wattage so I don't think it'll burn, but we'll see.
I'm watering with Gerber brand filtered water, FYI it comes at 6.5 ph out of the jug!
The stem on her is so purple already! I can't wait to see what she can do!
I started a small amount of fermented plant juice that I made from various things around my yard and neighborhood. I got a little too eager and overwatered the big girl, I failed to mention that I started two plants, which I’ve started documenting. I’ve been having some experiences through meditation that have changed my perception on life and I’ve slacked on my first diary.... oh well :) I’ll pick it up now and be more vigilant. Anyway... so the overwatering affected the big one only. Her leaves curled down a bunch, turned yellow for a couple days but I let the soil dry out and she’s already springing back. I’ve cut down the amount of water I’m giving them, as I have made the classic rookie mistake of too much water.
The smaller plant wasn’t even affected and looks great so far. Also, look at the purple on the larger girl!! The veins in the leaves are now starting to creep up with purple, and I’ve read that this is all due to genetics :) I can’t wait to see what this thing looks like in a couple months.
So here in Portland it’s been cloudy and rainy so they’ve been inside under the led and cfl most of the time. Seems to be keeping them going at a decent pace... in a couple weeks I’m sure it’ll be nice enough to start moving them outdoors and in larger pots.
I cut way back on water. The big one with the purple stem seems to be bouncing back, and is starting to take on a pretty skunky smell. I consulted with a couple local growers, and am going to just give them only water for a bit until they are transplanted into my super soil. I see some growth at the nodes already so that’s a good sign.
Alright I have a whole new setup for these girls until they move outside and for my future indoor grows. I got a 2x2x4 tent and a Mars Hydro 600w LED. I gave them a dose of Roots Organics Oregonism XL Mycorrhizae and since I put them in the tent they are doing nicely. The first one is kinda starting to look normal and number 2 is just looking fantastic.
Topped #2, she’s very bushy already but leaves are yellowing a little. Pruned the crap out of #1, and discovered she is quite purple already so I’m excited to see her flower later this summer! I transplanted them into 2.79 gallon pots with my hot soil mix in the bottom half. I shouldn’t have to feed them until the next transplant. The Mars Hydro led has definitely given them the light they need til they go outside in the next few weeks. My autoflowers should be pretty happy under this light :)
Cut way back on water. They seem to be liking that. After topping #2 last week, she has really started to bush out. I counted 6 different tops already! They’ll both be moving outside next week.
I gave them fpj and compost tea, and it looks like they’re getting what they need, although the second one may be having some ph issues or something. I stupidly still don’t have a ph meter so I’m going out to get one today. There are a few leaves on #2 that are yellowing a little and burning at the tips, but other than that she’s bushy as hell. #1 has taken on such a cool look and color. She looks kinda like a bonsai tree haha. I’m excited to see these flower outside later this summer!!
Another week down. A lot of under growth, training is coming along nicely. PH is low so I top dressed with dolomite like, hopefully that’ll help soon. #2 has been showing yellowing on the leaves so I hope the lime will help her. # 1 is a champ though, color is fantastic, so much growth and purple stems. She’s smelling pretty good too. Once I get her in the next pot I think we’ll really start to see some growth :) I still haven’t put them outside due to the weather but today’s looking nice so they’ll go out later.
They are LOVING the outdoors. I’ve started some heavy pruning and training and I’m just pulling stems this way and that. #1 I’m giving a sort of spiral around the pot and pulling the side branches, looks pretty sweet from above, kinda like a yin yang lol. #2 has finally started taking shape so I’m pulling all of her main branches out and I’ve toped a couple of those. I’m going to build a raised box for these to go for the rest of the summer. I should have some bushy mamas by the end of the summer :)
Just moved them into 20 gallon pots today, it wasn’t quite time yet but the root ball held all the soil together so they went pretty smooth and no shock at all. Should be the final pots as I don’t think I’d be able to transplant these again... they are pretty heavy lol. If everything goes according to plan I should have a pretty decent harvest and be able to give away some cuttings.
I’ve been slacking on photos... but here’s another week. They got hit hard with hail the other day and lost a bunch of leaves, also a bunch of broken/torn leaves, nothing major though.
I will definitely be following. I can't imagine what she'll turn into outdoors! I just harvested one of my CKS PK plants and I wish I has cloned it because it was an amazing pheno, finishing in 7 weeks indoors and stretched like a monster, more so than the Super silver hazes which surprised me. My other PK pheno.... not so good but it looks like from your pics that isn't the pheno you got.
I overwatered a little bit and burned her leaves but she's popping back already. Tomorrow she's going out in the sun, and I'll post another pic. I have another seed that I've been growing along side her that looks completely different, super fat leaves and really lush color. I'll add pics of her tomorrow as well :)
