Here we are with a brand new diary! I had a pack of BlueDream'Atic seeds that was laying in the fridge for about 3 years now. I was wondering if these were still alive, so I did drop 10 seeds into a germination tray (EasyStart from RQS). Only 8 have germinated but after 3 years I think it's a good score. They have been transplanted into 11L fabric pots but since I only have room for 6 plants, I'll have to proceed to seedling selection soon (keeping the strongest/fastest). Stay tuned!
So I have 2 weirdos, that really look like shit 😂 I'm not going to complain, this will make the selection process easier. Since I only have room for 6 plants I did kill the 2 weirdos. All the other plants are looking good. With 6 autos in a 2x4 room, I should be able to get a beautiful Sea Of Green. Stay tuned!
Growth is looking good, seedlings are turning into beautiful small plants, driver was dimmed at 100% so we're pulling 320 watts (raw from the wall) for the entire 2x4 space, in terms of ratio that gives me ~53 watts per plant, you might find it low, but I've had great results so far. I have added some Blumat irrigation carrots in order to give the plants a continuous source of water. I did notice in the past that these carrots do help a lot, and it allows me to delay my hand-waterings.
Pre-flower week! Plants have started to stretch, stems are fattening up, so it is the good time to add some 'Fast Buds' (by GreenBuzzLiquids) into my soup. It's starting to look like a SOG in here, but I'm going to call it a "sea of dreams" 😄 I've proceeded to a selective defoliation, in order to improve light penetration on the lowest bud sites. Pictures were taken before hand-watering, so plants look a bit thirsty, but don't worry they're all fully healthy. Stay tuned!
Bud sites started to appear everywhere, plants are looking healthy and are still stretching a bit. I've decided to add x2 infrared strips to the lighting setup, in order to improve the spectrum for blooming and trigger the emerson effect (infrared 15 mins before full darkness). I did notice in the past that infrared before darkness helps a lot and speed up the whole flowering process. I started to add some "Organic Bloom" to my soup. Various phenotypes are showing their traits, some plants are true sativas, others are more hybrids. I'm going to bet that the most sativas will take a few more weeks to finish. Stay tuned!
Here we are, 42 days from seed, and all the plants are fully flowering now. I had to proceed to a strategic defoliation once again because the room is slightly overcrowded, removing a few fan leaves will help getting more air and less humidity at the plant's feet. A few thrips managed to get into the growroom, probably because of other plants that were laying around, so I've added a few ladybugs in the room, they should do the job and eat most of the thrips before they become a real issue, they will prevent a massive colony from appearing. No more Nitrogen from now on (OrganicGrow) because the stretch is over, and I started to add some 'Organic More PK' into my soup. Thanks for stopping-by! 😎
Things have started to become interesting so I've decided to take the plants out for a quick photoshoot 😎 A few plants have shown signs of overfeeding, I'm not surprised considering the last meals I gave them, plus I knew this strains is sensitive, but I guess I wanted to see it by myself... Now I'm going back to a more reasonable EC, and will give them only a few meals before harvest. Most of the plants look like the same pheno, but plant 3 is a unique one, fully sativa, with thin leaves and tall stems, I'm worried this one will take forever to fatten up and mature. Otherwise everything is looking good, I think they have 3 weeks to go, and I'm hoping for a good yield. Thanks for stopping-by! 👊
It smells like cat piss in here, which is a sign of sativas ending their lives in the best conditions! Most of the plants (4/6) are now under flush while two other plants need a few more weeks and are still eating nutrients at low EC (1.0). The nutrients burn was still going on by the end of week 6 but now that most of my plants are under strict water regime, it seems to be over. Despite that mistake of overfeeding during week 5, those plants did manage to produce fat and sticky colas, with a great density and beautiful colors. The tallest one / most sativa in the room is a unique phenotype in the batch, she grew tall with long internodal spaces, and doesn't want to fatten up as fast as her sisters (plant #3 on the pics). I'm confident she will put weight on the scale, as far as I give her enough time to mature. The 4 finishers are being flushed with GreenBuzzLiquids "Clean Fruits", and I'm now waiting for all the trichomes to turn milky. Thanks for stopping-by, stay tuned for the last update! 😎
4 plants on a total of 6 were ready to chop by the end of week 8. The other two need a few more days to reach their full maturation potential. It took only 63 days from seed to harvest for most of these autos, I'm always impressed by such short lifetime. Buds are dense and sticky, plants are truly satisfying!
So the two latecomers are now ready for the chop, I took this opportunity to try some XMAS pictures with plant #5. These two babies needed 70 days from seed to harvest. That's what I call fast buds :) Thanks for stopping-by, stay tuned for the harvest post!
I made a full timelapse of the run, make sure to watch it in my harvest post!
This run was a full success, thanks to good genetics + good lights + good nutrients, I'm very happy with the outcome.
Thanks to everyone for reading this diary, and stay tuned for other grow reports! 😎👊
