12/12 fr seed vs reg veg cycle BLUEDREAM

Hey folks, hope all is well So this is the comparison grow for blue dream from ILGM. We are comparing a 12/12 from seed plant with a plant that underwent a regular four week veg cycle. Now there’s a couple things I wanted to touch on first about the whole comparison/experiment here. There are some factors that are limiting this from being real great comparison and I understand that but I just wanted to get an idea if there’s any substantial difference in bud quality and other things. So I definitely should’ve used larger containers. These are 2 gallon containers so in reality these are limiting the plants potential quite a bit – especially the regular veg cycle plant. It would’ve probably picked up a little more size in the veg state, and I believe it would have stretched more during the early flower stretch. So it’s quite advantageous for the 12/12 plant, because it wasn’t receiving those extra six hours of light before it started flowering it didn’t grow as much, and the container size wasn’t as limiting a factor as it was to Reg veg plant. So before this I’ve never done a 1212 from seed, and my understanding was it basically is initiating flower around week three.. So I was expecting the reg veg one to be about a week behind given that I put it in the flower tent during week four. Now I’m starting to think it might be quite a bit more behind than a week but it’s really hard to say. The buds look way better on the 12/12 plant - more mature, more filled out. I also have to talk about the fact that I did more defoliation and pruning on the reg veg plant. It has a few more nodes total than the 12/12 plant and it was very dense and bushy once flower began. I tried to keep everything fair and do what I did to each plant the same - but at some point they become quite a different plant and you can’t do the exact same thing because they’re not the exact same plant. Also I believe these are pretty distinctly different phenotypes. It is hard to tell because of the fact that one’s 12/12 and one did the vegetative cycle. That said the 12/12 plant has darker leaves, a little bit wider fan leaves (like more indica). Now I’ve also noticed that The rag veg plants seems to have a little more frosty sugar leaves then the 12/12 plant. It’s hard to see if that’s a factor of vegging out longer or if it’s just a different phenotype. Also the sugar leaves around the buds are forming a little bit differently kind of more what I noticed with Indica plants where they stack really heavily around the buds, whereas hybrids and sativa‘s don’t have as congested fan leave presence around bud - if that makes sense. It’s basically like just more congested with sugar leaves around the buds on the reg veg plant. Whereas the 12/12 has more sporadic sugar leaves protruding from the buds. Honestly if I had to choose just one of these to move forward at this point I think I’d go for the 12/12 plant. It just seems to be growing the best without the need of human intervention, and honestly it looks like they’re gonna be close to yielding the same amount.
