How early can I really give it nutrients? I've read when the plant has 3 or 4 sets of leaves but in my produce-growing experience I just give it a little nutrient once it forms its first set or second if I'm lazy.

You start to feed the plant when the cotyledon (false rounded leaf that are the plants nutrient start to yellow) you can use 1/4 of strenght around the end of second week under 200-250ppm around week 3. Week four is were it actually starts. The cotyledon are usually gone and the plant is in its first week of actual vedging

Just starting to give it nutrients. Roots hanging about 6" below the net cup now. Looking very promising.

So my TDS are high right?? I live in the Phoenix area, very hard water. I used a garden hose filter that apparently will pull some of the minerals out. But at 660ppm for fresh water after just a light amount of nutrients for the seedling. What happens if I continue like this?

Honestly a lot of what is in the water can and will be uptaked by the plant.. So it's a lot harder to balance out a "balanced" nutrient feeding if your water is rough... Aerating and all that jazz will not change the amount of TDS in the water.. Water is such a huge part of the total puzzle.. Like water + light + a little bit of nutrients = growth.. It's really hard for me not to recommend you getting an R/O system for yourself.. As growers spend a lot of money on our growing efforts or can.. And if your gonna be spending money... Then you should be willing to spend a bit more... Your plants will thank you... Your overall results can improve and your lungs will thank you as well. Good Clean water is a such a key ingredient to the end results.

Looking good so far. I realize the TDS are way high. My water here is surprisingly bad. Looking into an RO system.

Doing well. I topped it above the 4th node and plan to top it once or twice more. It is pushing shoots hard from the 3rd and 2nd nodes, so I am planning to develop those into buds. Will probably use LST to pull them apart and make use of the space. Plant sweats heavily. It is wet to the touch oftentimes. It used about 40% of its water in week 2 Leaves are starting to overlap so unsure when I should defoliate some of it.

Still going strong. Thursday I bent the branches with some wire secured to the net pot. Also topped the growth on the 2nd and 3rd nodes. Defoliated some of the fan leaves in the way of new growth. It is still growing well and now many more bud sites showing. I added 6 18W LED strip lights from my lettuce grow setup. Should spread the light evenly across the top now and encourage outward growth.

Still going well. I keep trimming away large fan leaves to give light to bud sites. Did a big trim on Tuesday this past week. Starting the 12-12 cycle today and upped nutrients to 1tsp each of FloraGro, Bloom, & Micro.

Accidently deleted my 1/10 notes. I defoliated during the week once and on 1/10 as well. Topped it off with water mid week.

Everything going well. Used about 2 gallons of RO water from my new system inside. I trimmed away the larger fan leaves and trimmed off the lower 3" of the plant. Found one shoot and some other things needing trimming. Lots of budsites ready to go now. The plant has a very nice funnel shape to its stems. Buds are stretching as wide as I can make them go without using a net. Ready to see some white colors!

Flowered Thurs 1/21! Seeing noticeable growth every morning. Everything seems to be going well. I've been worrying the TDS is too high but no signs of any plant stress at all. I trimmed away all of the large fan leaves and any leaf that would clog up the middle part of the plant. I followed Nebula's Flowering Stage Defoliation Tutorial. Looking to be somewhere around 18-20 main colas! Roots are looking very nice and fragrant. Air temp has been pretty consistent. Fertilized as if it was in the beginning of mid bloom. My light setup is a board of T5 fluorescents flanked by several LED strips. The T5s and LEDs have different height requirements, but I think since the LEDs are on the sides, it is giving more energy to budsites on the sides to catch up and create a nice table of bud. See attached pic.

Everything is looking great. Trimmed 2 or 3 larger fan leaves by the end of the week and topped it off with water twice. Roots look great and are starting to bound together which seems easier to manage on reservoir changes. I'm going to lower the lights to about 4". They are T5s in the center and a bunch of 18W leds on the sides. I will watch it close and make sure it doesn't burn.

All seems to be well. Some nights I forget to turn on the radiator and temps drop to 65. Plant seems unaffected. Plant did not grow in height. I trimmed maybe 4 or 5 fan leaves all week but may not have been necessary. Choosing to do the optional 3rd week of mid bloom. I think buds need more time to develop. Getting very frosty now

Everything going well. Looks like the top buds are starting to fill in shape. Colors are still green, smells are amazing. Very eager to cut this thing down and dry. Saw one rust spot on one leaf. Most leaf tips have slight burn on them but nothing even mildly concerning.

Starting to flush today. Trichomes up top are turning amber. Buds below that are still coming along nicely. I haven't trimmed any fan leaves in weeks but am thinking maybe I should, not sure.

Changed last week's water out with just plain water. Just a faint sign of yellowing showing in some fan leaves. The top buds look like they are ready to harvest in 5 days or so I'd guess. The popcorns below, not so much. I decided to trim the largest fan leaves from the top of the canopy to increase light penetration. I also bought an HLD 550Rspec quantum board, 4x4 tent, and carbon filter. Plant was moved into that environment during the week. Its bright 😎 I'm thinking harvest in 7 days! Will update then! Wed 3/10: Decided to partially harvest the plant. I trimmed off the top two or three nodes on a total of about 25 colas. About 5 or 6 of them look very nicely formed, and two are very stacked and dense looking. The rest are smaller which I attribute to lack of a powerful light. Using the quantum board for the last few days caused the already-mature buds to grow those those little bumps of extra bud (don't know what its called). Just an observation to record. 10wks of flower with this light must be insane. Wet weight 80.1g. Dry weight for harvest round 1 expected to be 1.6oz to 2oz. I think maybe another 1oz is left on the plant to grow. Only one leaf starting to turn yellow, and the rest of the plant is still thriving. The buds remaining are still developing and now that they are exposed to sun and air should really plump up as it uses its last nutrients. I trimmed away some crowding leaves in the new canopy. I trimmed off large fan leaves and some smaller ones before placing in a dry rack. Stored in a bedroom with humidifier. Ambient RH was 36% before adding any. I'm afraid I trimmed too much given how arid it is here. Smell is wonderful and smells like finished product. Deep diesel smell, some purple color on the sugar leaves

The new quantum board turned the leaves a deep purple hue. Still not feeding the plant anything but pH balanced tap water and little sign of lack of nutrients still. Very beautiful. I harvested that I thought was going to be the 2nd half of this plant but I ended up keeping several more buds on the plant that are not yet fully mature. I don't have new plants to place in the lights yet, so this is better than growing no buds. 1st cutting of this harvest has now gone through dry trim and is in a jar, about 1oz of bud and 0.75oz or so of shake. The shake just broke away from the buds like it was deep fried. I will let the plant continue to ripen remaining buds for 1 week.

Plant was harvested in three phases over 3 weeks. My original light was not powerful (T5) and my lollypopping left many buds growing under the main canopy. But all in all very easy process to get all three harvests in and start new seeds. New seedlings went into the grow tent the same hour this plant came out.
