This strain was purchased from the Ontario Cannabis Store 1 week ago. I cleaned my tents and grow area and prepared my water jugs for a new grow. I spent the last few months unable to grow due to having a kidney stone and a lack of motivation. Covid times are tough. I decided I don't want to grow a bag seed this time around and instead I wanted to grow a feminized seed, sexing the plants is not my favorite thing, and last grow I had to throw out several hermies leaving me with only a few plants to finish the season with. Still what I grew lasted me until now and I still have a few more weeks before I run out so I decided it was time for me to step up and do this thing. I appreciate any and all feedback so please feel free to add your two cents.
Both seeds germinated and were potted up within 2 days of starting the paper towel method. Both tap roots were roughly 7-10 mm long when they were planted into the pots at a depth of roughly 1.5 - 2cm. The media was premixed and moistened before the seeds were planted, and the seeds watered in with roughly 50 ml of water so as not to soak the media. The pots were then covered by a clear dome, one dome for each pot, leaving enough room for the plant to grow a few inches; finally, I placed them into the tent with the lights on a 12 hour schedule. The lights are 3.5 feet above the domes. I placed a shade cloth over the domes so that light only indirectly reaches the pots. It will stay like this until the plants have popped out of the media and are healthy enough to handle the bright light.
On Day 3: Lefty has broken the surface of the media and I can see the two little cotyledons ready to jump start this little plant. Righty on the other hand is still trying to break the surface. I should mention that the seedlings are each inside of their own individual domes, maintaining the humidity they need to maintain moisture and encourage plant growth. The tent environment is maintaining at 20% humidity and roughly 24 C.
On Day 4: both seeds were above the surface of the media and looking very green, just a few more days before I start seeing some true leaves emerge. In the comments, if you can tell me how I'm supposed to take good pictures of my crop as it grows that aren't overexposed, I would greatly appreciate any tips. I only have my phone to take pictures with, but its a Google Pixel 3 if that helps, perhaps there is some app that works better than the native photo app.
On Day 5: Both seedlings are looking good and healthy, no need for pics today they aren't much different from yesterday.
On Day 6: I woke today to find Righty hanging over, having broken its stem - and I have no idea why that happened. Yesterday they looked fine, they had been sprouting their first set of true leaves and they were a nice emerald green, today they might as well be dead. Lefty is still standing but it looks like it will soon join Righty. It appears that after just 6 days this grow is done. And I think I'm done with this too.
