Time to start my first feminized grow in awhile. I've been playing around with autos lately but am ready to have a little more control over the grow. I started all 5 seeds in a shot glass with rain water for 24hrs. Paper towel method for another 48 hrs and went 5 for 5 on germination. Put tap roots in pre soaked jiffy cubes at 6.5 ph then installed in a humidity dome in total dark . 48 Hours later all 5 seeds had broken ground. Turned the led strip light in my clone chamber on under 18-6 light schedule. My first Barneys Farm genetics and am impressed with the ease of germination. Definitely extremely viable seeds.
Since I went 5 for 5 on germination and sprouting, I picked 4 to put in my 8 gal. bucket, top fill RDWC system.
I " miracled" the extra seedling to a friend. One is a little smaller than the rest but once more roots hit the water, I'm sure she'll catch up.
I did a complete water change this week with fresh nutrients. I'll be topping at the 5th node by the next week. Plenty of healthy I'll roots in the water.
Well, I was able to get the scrog net installed and plants topped above the 4th node. The plants look healthy, roots look healthy and net is pretty well filled out. I've changed my resevoir and am now switching to flowering. Curious about how these will run.
Started flowering this week. The plants are stretching pretty good. Tent is full. I've attached a photo of the feed chart I'm using with the addition of Liquid Koolbloom.
I did a light defoliation yesterday and nutrient change today. Plants stretched more than I thought for the breed, but seem to be starting some nice bud formation. I purchased the PH Perfect by Torus to see if it does what it claims. I've ran it for a week now and didn't have to adjust ph once. It kept my ph between 6.0 and 6.3. I'll keep posting my impressions of the ph balancer. After one week, it's performing as advertised.
Did some light defoliation this week. Everything seems to be going well. The PH perfect is working well so far. I change resevoir, adjust ph to 6.0 and the PH Perfect kept it at 6.0 to 6.1 for the entire week with no adjustment needed. I would just add my RO and the resevoir stays at 6.0
Starting to see the buds fill out. I'm guessing about 5 more weeks. I'm going to give it a good defoliation some time this week. Torus Hydro PH Perfect is working as advertised.
Starting flush this week. One of the 4 plants is finishing sooner than the others so I'm going to flush now. Everything is going smoothly. The plants smell wonderful and are coated with resin.
This is my last week.I still did a resevoir change and am continuing to flush with straight RO water. I will be shutting off lights and leaving in the dark for 48hrs and then the work will begin. The colas look and smell wonderful. I'll post cure pictures and final numbers in a few weeks. Really looking forward to trying this for the first time.
I harvested this week. These plants were easy to grow and I'm real happy with the quality and quantity produced.
I'll be back with totals and a smoke review in a few weeks.
Final total of 670 grams of some really resinous, dense bud. I cried for a week in tent then jarred and burped for another 2. Barney's Farm LSD feminised produced what they claim and I couldn't have hoped for a better high. Excellent!
