MY FIRST GROW EVER. IT ALL STARTED BECAUSE OF HYDROPONICS!😀 My interest in hydroponics has finally led me to grow my own plants. Now I have chosen the Ebb&Flow technique, in order to learn from it. For this I have put together an Ebb&Flow setup myself. The germination period for me wos 3 weeks, below here the steps: Before putting the seeds into the rockwool, i had them in a glass of water for 24 hours: (PH: 5.7, PPM: 40, Humidity: 70% - 90%, Temp: 20 - 23. Result: They opened just a little after 24/h. After 24/h i placed the seeds in the rockwells. Keeping the above values at the same level and adding light to it. After 3 days they started popping out. In the first 2 weeks i didn't add any nutrients to the feed. Because a seed has spare nutrients to use for gemination. In the 3rd week i transplanted the seedling in the small rockwools into the bigger ones and placed them into the growbed. Since then i started adding Vitalink: PlantStart 1ml/l to boost the root growth during the last week of germination. All i used was SPA water till now. SPA water contains low ppm and the PH is close to what you need. Perfect to use while germinating.

Precondition: > Leaves show sideburn!!! [Updated] - Reason: Nutrient lock because of to high ppm 600(used tap water while i should've used filtered water). - Solution: > 2 plants of 3 arent growing that big as the other one. - Reason: To much light - the other plant is a strong one and accepted the light as a boss somehow. - Solution: decreased the intensity of light Feed schedule: Once a day i feed them by running the waterpump for 5 minutes, because i've seen them getting overwatered to many times. That is probably the reason why the 2 plants are growing smaller then the other 1. A video is added on the first hydro feeding i did. Monday: Plants are placed on the growbed and they got their first feeding with nutrients. Light sideburns on leaves Tuesday: Light sideburns on leaves got worse by a bit. Show signs of overwatering * Because of the sideburns i flushed the bed and rockwools with tap water(ph:5.8, ppm 340{without nutrients}). * Running the fan from a far distance on low to dry the rockwools faster. After 4 hours the leaves already started looking better. Tomorrow i will take other picture's and see how this adventure continues on Wednesday: I still dont know exactly if the sideburning has stopped or not. But the plant looks happier now. ill keep on feeding them manually 2 times a day with only tap water and a fixed ph level to keep the medium on the right ph. The fan still spinning (not in the video because of the timer) against the tent which creates a better airflow now and is much more pleasant for the plants. The led lamp's brightness is lowered and the distance increase to 50cm. Which i hoped it was the issue for the other 2 plants to not grow as big as the right plant in the video. The middle 1 is 3 days older. The plan: Let them grow a bit bigger before i start with the vitalink hydro schedule in the ebb&flow setup. Stop the sideburn and curling Thursday: The leaveburns had increased yesterday and i kept on feeding them only tap water with a fixed PH of 6 and PPM:380. Today it seemed they stopped leave burning which is good and added only 1ml/l of plant start. which boosts the root growth process. Friday: I didnt have time to create graphics to update my diary till the end of this week. But i kept on feeding the plants just tap water with a fixed PH level of 6 and PPM of 380. The hasnt stopped yet. i check the mars hydro manufactur manual and adjusted my led to the perfect distance and the light intensity to 25%. Mars Hydro TS100: Germin: 25% 24-30 inch Veget: 50% 18-24 inch Flow: 100% 10-18 inch

Your ppm is ridiculously high for seedlings. You only need about 200ppm at this stage. Plus looks like light stress hence the curling sides. If your light is at that distance you state then it’s probably way too high. Only need around 200 ppfd at this stage. Should be about 30 inches above plants. Refer to the manufacturers recommendations

Precondition: > Leaves show sideburn!!! [Updated] - Reason1: Nutrient lock because of to high ppm 600(used tap water while i should've used filtered water). [FIXED] - Reason2: PH in the medium fluctuates to much and fast. Have to keep an eye on the PH. - Solution: Monday: The leaves burn didn't stop till now. The speed of burning decreased tho. Is the PPM still to high or is it an PH issue? Tuesday: The tips of the leaves are still burning.. PH: 6, PPM: 350 without nutrients. only added ph down.

After a week the issue still occurs of leaves burning but in a slower speed. I adjusted the distance and brightness of the lamp based on manufacture manual. The burning started a week ago when i started giving nutrients(PPM 600). Ichanged the feed by giving only tap water.PPM 350

The older leaves are getting all burnt and dry/crispy.. and the new ones are starting very slowly at the tips. But i dont know if it is still because of to high PPM? or is it a PH issue? When does a plant expect nutrients? How can i know that? When do i start feeding nutrients?
