Been a while since my last grow finished because I’ve been upgrading a few things! From what I could see from my last harvest she needed more light and better air flow, so I’ve gone for the mars hydro ts1000, fitted a black orchid 4” intake fan, changed from a fabric pot to airpots and the oscillating fan will be moved and mounted at the canopy as she grows. I also let the temps get too high in flower but that should be harder to do now we’re in winter.
I’ve also challenged myself to grow two at a time, do-Si-dos (left) and tangerine dream (right) autos, sativa leaning for those weekend afternoons and indica leaning for the after work wind down 👌🏻. Soaked for 24hours in bottled water, then placed in wet paper towels for three days and placed directly into there final pots with a cup and a half of water in biobizz light soil.
I’ve read nothing but good reviews about voodoo juice so that’s been added to the nutrient selection along with rhino skin, the plan is to keep it simple and not too much messing about, tie them down and keep everything level for multiple colas with a light defoliation before they enter flower.
🤞🏻 Fingers crossed everything goes to plan!
Day 1- cup of water each and the light set to 80%.
Day 6- 1ml of voodoo juice to 1.5l of water and they got two cups each.
Struggling with humidity, I have two wet cloths hanging in the bottom to keep it above 60%.
Day 7- another cup and a half each of the same voodoo juice mix.
Day 8- they each got 1l of water with 1ml of voodoo juice.
TG looks kind of discoloured and crinkly, I had a bit of trouble with the humidity at first so I think it’s maybe from that but the DSD looks great so I’m not 100% but I’ll keep an eye on her.
Day 10- light raised 3 inches and set to 90%.
Day 12- they each got 1l of water with 1ml micro, 0.5ml grow and 0.5ml voodoo juice
They’ve been watered twice with no nutes on day 12 and 15 and they also got tied down on day 15. Lamp still at 90% for now.
Lowest fan leaves on TG removed also on day 15.
Day 16- lamp raised 2” and set to 100%. Some more lst and a couple of fan leaves removed from both and fed 1ml voodoo juice, micro and grow in a litre of water each.
Day 17- more lst. TG seems to be happy now, the new leaves are nice and green with no discolouration so I could have been wrong about the humidity and maybe she had a deficiency and the nutes have picked her up a bit, either way there happy I’m happy 👍🏻.
Day 18- 1 litre of water each no nutes.
Day 19- more lst and a light defoliation for DSD because a few fan leaves were blocking the light for some shoots, I think she’s going to take up a lot of room!
Day 20- fed with nutes 1ml of voodoo, micro and grow, a litre each and another half litre of phd water over that because I didn’t mix enough 😂. Couple fan leaves removed that were on top of the soil.
Day 21- checked on the girls this morning and one of TG’s tie downs has gave way and she’s topped herself 🤦♂️🏻 Absolutely gutted, but it is what it is she’s healthy enough for it to not bother her! I’ll have to take a bit more care next time 👎🏻.
Going into week 3 and compared to my last grows these girls are solid, there that strong there pulling stakes out the soil and topping themselves 🤦♂️🏻 must be doing something right! Im happy with how healthy they seem and there taking feeds well so I’ll be upping the nutes gradually every other day from now and keeping on top of the lst. Hopefully no more accidents!
Day 23- watered with 6.5ph water till run off.
Day 25- watered with nutes, per 2litres of water they had 1.5ml voodoo juice, 1ml rhino skin, 1.5ml micro and 1.5ml grow and had the full 2litres each.
Day 27- watered with ph’d water till run off.
Going into week 4 and there both developing pistols, DSD starting to produce trichomes already. Both seem very happy, healthy and strong.
Day 29- watered with micro, grow and rhino skin at 1.5ml and bloom at 1ml per 2l of water. (29/12/20)
Day 31- watered with ph’d water till run off.
Day 32- there both wilting quite bad and some fan leaf stalks are going red, it looks like a phosphorus deficiency to me so I’ve given them both 2ml voodoo juice, 1ml bud candy, 3ml micro and 3ml bloom to 2litres of water. Fingers crossed that gives them what they need to bounce back. I’m obviously being too cautious with the feeding and need to step it up sooner... a mistake to learn from!
Day 35- They seem to have just about bounced back so I’ve removed all the fan leaves showing the deficiency’s, pre soaked the soil with ph’d water then gave them another feed with 1.5ml voodoo juice, 1ml rhino skin, 2ml micro and 3ml bloom in 2 litres of bottled water.
Going into week 5 there recovering well from the stress of a phosphorus deficiency and a bit of defoliation of the badly affected fan leaves, I underestimated how much they could take and was too cautious with the feeding.
I’m going to introduce big bud this week, I think there ready for it now the bud sites are really starting to build up, fingers crossed for a smooth ride through flowering 🤞🏻.
Day 37- they were pre soaked with 1 litre of water and then fed 1.5ml voodoo juice, 1ml bud candy, 1ml big bud, 4ml micro, 1ml grow and 3ml bloom in 2 litres of water.
Day 39- TG looks like she has a cal mag problem, something I don’t but should have so that’s been ordered hopefully arrives soon. Both watered with ph’d bottled water.
Day 40- both flushed with ph’d water then fed with 1ml cal mag, 1ml voodoo juice, 1ml bud candy, 1ml big bud, 3ml micro, 1ml grow and 3ml bloom to 2 litres of water.
Day 42- there both looking unhappy and very unhealthy, I think I’d mistaken a magnesium deficiency for a phosphorus in both! I’ve got cal mag into the mix now and I’m just hoping they reach harvest, it’s not looking good though. Fed with 1.5ml calmag, 1.5ml bud candy, 1.5ml big bud, 3ml micro and 3ml bloom in 2litres of water.
Going into week 6 and the magnesium deficiency I mistook for a phosphorous deficiency has affected most of the fan leaves on both plants, it took a few days longer for the calmag to arrive but since feeding with it at .75ml a litre the new growth on the buds looks healthy and it doesn’t seem to be spreading anymore so fingers crossed they get to harvest and I actually get some usable bud.
Do-si-do’s now has a good coating of trichomes and starting to get smelly, citrusy and sweet. She hasn’t been affected by the deficiency as much as TG.
Tangerine dream is looking a bit worse for ware but since getting calmag into her, all the leaves have started to raise and the spreading has slowed right down and possibly stopped. She’s also started producing baby trichomes so fingers crossed I can get her limping over the finish line 😂.
I should add that when I water I use 2litres, the feeding chart is for 1litre so there getting 9ml of nutes at the minute.
It would seem the route cause of my deficiency is actually a faulty ph meter, one on order!!! 😡😡😡😡
Day 43 fed with 1ml big bud, 1ml micro and 3ml bloom
Day 45 1 litre of water each.
Day 46 ph tester finally arrived, fed with 1ml cal mag, 1ml bud candy, ml big bud, 3ml micro and 3ml bloom. The damage has spread right through the plants, not going to stop but I'm not sure how it's going to affect harvest.
Day 48 fed with 1ml cal mag, 1.5ml big bud, ml micro and 3ml bloom with 2litres of water.
Week 7 and there still going, the ph problem has caused major issues with them both and I’m surprised there still going. Another failure in my eyes but I’m still going to try and limp them over the finish line.
Do-Si-do’s smell is amazing it’s so strong, like a citrusy pie, so sweet 🤤 every single fan leaf is covered in dots and burns but she’s still fattening up and has a good coating of trichomes now.
Tangerine dream is starting to give off a light smell of actual tangerines but the dsd is too over powering until you stick your nose into one of her buds. She’s still stacking but every one of her fan leaves are damaged as well so I’m not sure she will make it. Time will tell with them both, they were getting fed every time they were watered for a week till now with a good bit of run off to wash away excess build up of nutes.
Day 50 1litre of ph’d water each.
Day 51 there really using up there water, fed with 2ml micro, 2mo bloom, 1ml bud candy and overdrive in 2 litres of water.
Week 8 and I’m fairly confident the DSD will reach harvest and give me some usable smoke, TG on the other hand still has a few weeks so I’m not too sure with her.
DSD day 57 More and more pistils are turning orange and most of her trichomes are cloudy, she’ll be ready to start flushing in a couple days but Im not sure on how much of a flush to give considering she hasn’t really got anything stored in her because most of them are dead 😂.
TG day 57- Starting to see the odd orange pistil here and there, the buds look like there going to be airy with not much weight on them and probably quite weak strength wise as there’s not a lot of trichomes compared to DSD but we’ll hope for the best and expect the worst!
Day 57- fed with 2ml micro, 1ml grow, 2ml bloom, 1ml bud candy and 1ml overdrive in 2 litres of water and the soil pre soaked with 1 litre of ph’d water.
Day 59- fed with 3ml micro, 1ml grow, 3ml bloom, 2ml bud candy and 2ml overdrive in 3 litres of water.
They got flushed on day 61 and have had another at day 65 and 69, DSD’s is nearly ready for the chop and TG isn’t far behind. Been really busy with life so missed a few days of the diary, next update will be the harvest. I can’t believe they made it to be honest, just shows how tough these ‘weeds’ are!
Really strong plant right from the start, not sure where in the growth the ph tester started reading incorrectly but even with all the deficiencies the end result is some pretty decent bud, I’ll update everything properly once they’ve dried enough to weigh and try. Harvested as the odd trichomes we’re turning amber at day 72. 97g of bud altogether, 35 of it is popcorn/fluffy buds to be made into butter.
Same as the DSD even with all the deficiencies from the faulty ph tester she made it to harvest with usable buds with plenty of trichomes. Harvested just as the odd trichome was turning amber and the rest milky at day 73. My weighing scales battery went flat before I could weigh before hanging to dry but there’s a bit more than the DSD but there a lot airier. 48g of good usable bud and 53g of popcorn/airy buds and trim that will be used for butter 👌🏻. Pleased with the result from both considering the mess they were in with ph imbalances!
