MULLIGAN made fresh box and moved 2 of the ladies into it.
going to try some pure water this time so I can monitor what might be killing the babies. starting before notes. 1 tds, 2 ec, 6.0 ph.
going to hold on adding anything for a couple days. maybe some root drench..

MULLIGAN discovered ph was low 4 and prob what has been killing plants during week 3.
baselines tank with 6 gallons pure water at 1tds, 2 ec, ph 6.0.
24 hours later dropped to 4 again, added some baking soda and seems stables at 6.0.
cleaned existing peat plugs with seedlings in the pure water ph at 6.5.
runoff was 3.8-4.5...nasty stuff. will add nutrients in another 24 hours.

MULLIGAN real happy with 1 of the blue lemon haze seedlings. no2 lost a cotyledom leaf didn't make it. (shell husk was stuck and it rotted.)
no.2 looks 50% behind no.1. if I was more advanced grower I'd prob toss it to make space but keeping it around for learning exp.
I went up to 1/8 nutrients 27 dec,
and at 75tds 120ec. starting from pure water with 1 tds/2ec.
most of my seedlings sprout and the shell husk never really 'falls' off. when I wait for nature, I end up with 1 or more rotten cotyledon.
-planting shallow in peat plug.
-never get roots to grow to bottom.
-do I need to plant deeper into plug so plant can get better grip?
Use rockwool my friends.. Peat Moss is great for Dirt.. Peat moss is terribly for hydroponics.. It's far to acidic.. And your seedling will be at a ph of 4-5.. Great for starting blueberries but not great for starting cannabis.. Lean towards neutral starting solutions or aim for a better ph with your peat pucks.. Peat moss that is 40-60 is a bit better as it will have Coco Fibre in it which is more neutral then a 100% peat moss puck.. Ask your local grow store or order Rockwool online.
lost both my yellow heat bulb and temp was 48f (6hr dark) inside tent this morning. warming pad was being used for.
glad I covered the seedlings that I just moved into the tank.

this is my third round of growing and the first time that I'm getting results like this. 1 of the 3 never got turned right so I flipped her over and they are all looking great! once we have leaves ill move each into a 6" netpot. with the plug, coco coir liner and clay pebbles. I think I ripped out the roots last round so hoping the coco liner keeps things together this time.
