I’m only 3 weeks into the current grow in the veg tent (Perpetual Pie). But, as there is still space, I’ve decided to start a new crop in smaller pots in the same tent. So I’ve planted two seeds in one gallon fabric pots. A Fat Banana auto from RQS and a Strawberry Pie auto from Fast Buds. When the current flowering crop (Two Tents) is harvested I will move them into the flowering tent in 3 weeks with Perpetual Pie. Might as well be... perpetual. I like the new sprouting success indicator Grow Diaries. I will hopefully update it in a few days when they pop. UPDATE: Both seeds popped. Really happy again with going straight into soil. Still 100%.

Both seeds popped. The Banana took longer though. It still hadn’t really opened up. I realised the sheath of skin from inside the seed was stuck to the leaves and glueing them together. I helped the leaves open up a bit and break through the skin. All good. Just babies right now. Feeding tiny amounts constantly.

Both still small seedlings. The Fat Banana is taking its time catching up to the Strawberry Pie. Two leaf nodes on each plant. I’ll start feeding this coming week. That’ll kick things off. At the end of the week I need to decide whether to keep them in the veg tent with the next grow (Three Sisters) or move them to the flowering tent early with the former grow (Perpetual Pie).

The Fat Banana seems to be a bit stunted. The main apical shoot is totally missing. I can’t even see where it has been knocked off. It just isn’t there at all. I’ll have a look with the microscope to see if I can see any damage. It might have had early damage from the trouble sprouting. It might just be a mutant. Luckily there are two side shoots growing. I expect it will recover before flowering starts. The Strawberry Pie is where it should be at three weeks. I’ll start LST on it now. Probably not too much, given it is only in a one gal pot. I have been feeding both this week. I will add flowering nutes into the Strawberry this coming week. But I’ll keep the veg nute mix going for the Banana. I’ll also leave them in the veg tent for another couple of weeks at most. There is currently room in the flowering tent. I only have three perpetual grows atm. Once the next one starts (King & Kong) I will have a full cycle of four grows going at the same time.

I can see signs of preflowering just starting on the Strawberry. It is coming along nicely considering it is in a 1 gal pot. I decided not to do any LST on it. It will need to be tall enough to go into the flowering tent with the previous grow. (Perpetual Pie). Time to start flowering nutes. The Banana has finally started to get it’s grow on. After the failure of an apical node to appear, the plant redirected its growth back to the two original single fingered leaves. I have never noticed a stem growing from the very first leaf nodes before. But needs must. So this is kind of like a very early topping I guess. Hopefully the plant still matures and goes to flower. Maybe I will get two main colas instead of one. Still another week in the veg tent then the they will go into the flowering tent. Not sure the Banana will be tall enough so I’ll need to put it on a pedestal to reach the canopy.

Both plants have started flowering. I’m moving both this week so I can put seeds down for the next grow (King & Kong). No training at all. The Strawberry is just tall enough. Will fare well in the flowering tent. I just shifted it across today. The Banana is really trying to catch up. It probably has 2-3 weeks to do so before it stops. It might stay on a pedestal in the flowering tent though. I’ll move it this week sometime.

Both fruits are in the flowering tent. They are both showing significant bud sites for small 1 gal potted plants. The Banana is really catching up and, due to its early deformity, has two equal main colas. The Strawberry is as tall as I want it to be. I’ve pulled it over and will grow it along the side if it stretches any further. I’ve also done some light clearing of tertiary growth. It is good to see plants growing without much training again. I’ll carefully up the flowering nutes now. I’ve grown both strains before and neither likes too much feeding.

The Strawberry is showing a really good shape with a lot of bud sites in the top of the plant. With more room in the flowering tent I have pulled some of the branches outwards and tied them down. The Banana is still a bit smaller with all the bud sites on the two main colas. I’m not touching that one at all. Not even any defoliation. Both plants are showing a good covering of early crystals already. The Banana has the same dark geometric leaves I remember from the last time I grew it. I am projecting 1.5-2oz in total from them. I need to water them more regularly as they are only in 1 gal pots. 3 gal is the optimum for space and returns. I left them too long this week and the Strawberry wilted slightly. A bit of dehydration stress could be a good thing for it though.

The buds are getting fatter on both plants. Officially I could start cropping the Strawberry from next week. The Banana won’t be close for another few weeks. But I have supply atm so I’ll probably let them both go untouched to week 10-11. The next grow (Three Sisters) is s bit behind as I had to replant two seeds. I won’t flush this one yet either.

I decided to chop both plants down at 9 weeks. Maybe a bit early. But I need to increase the perpetual throughput for a while until I have 10-12 week cycles and proper cure time. I checked the trichomes and by far most are cloudy with a few clear and even less amber. I got 8oz wet weight, so expecting 2oz dry. Also should get 1/2oz trim as well. Slightly more Strawberry than Banana. Both are covered in sticky crystals. Most of the Strawberry trim is caked in it. The Banana has streaks of dark purple colouring through it this time. The Strawberry is pale and frosty.

Happy Harvest Day!

The plant was stunted from the get go. There were not many bud growing off the two main colas. But because it has two of them the harvest was about expected weight for a 1 gal pot. The buds started turning a deep red purple. They are just as stinky and fruity as the first one I grew.

Just a small harvest but only 2 gal of soil where in the tent for this grow. The Fat Banana had trouble taking off and was a bit of a mutant. But it was a tidy trouble free grow in the end. Harvested too early. Could have gone another week. I’ll be going fast through the cycles for a few grows yet.

This was a tidy, well lollipopped plant in a 1 gal pot. I only pulled down the main colas and removed some lower growth. The buds were a good size. Covered in white sticky trichomes and very strong even at 9 weeks. The same sweet delicate berry flavour is there again. The trim is so sticky it got stuck into clumps and I mistook them for buds!
