Planted directly in 3 gallon fabric pot. Added some ancient earth to help with germination. Broke soil on day 4. Added tarantula and voodoo juice towards the end of the week after she broke the soil.
Another easy week. Would love to have temps down in the 70's but it costs too much money to cool the house below 77F and with the heat from the light it puts the tent in the low 80's.
I did some major LST this week to make sure she will fit. You can't see but the Bruce Banner grow is to the left of GSC during her early weeks into flower. During the LST I accidentally topped her. I left a tied attached and came back 6 hours later and the top had broken off at pretty much the right place for a topping. You could say she self topped herself. It was my fault for not properly supporting the areas behind the tie. It worked out for the better and am glad it didn't happen later in flower.
Another easy week. She is drinking more water at this point for sure. Has a semi chocolate smell with the finger test. Looks like it's going to be a good yield.
Flushing started this week. I got confused with how long the flowering period was because it's an auto flower. The package said expect harvest from just 9 weeks from seed but this thing was nowhere near ready at 9 weeks.
At this point I am thinking she is taking longer to finish than the breeder recommended finishing time. This is a common misconception to follow the breeder information to a T as they are more like guidelines.
The humidity is really high because I had a clone in the tent at this point along with popping two other seeds in solo cups. In hindsight this is the time that I should have harvested. I'll explain more about it during the harvest.
The only thing I liked on this plant was the yield. It was just shy of 6 ounces at 5 ounces 24 grams which is a great yield. The quality was not great at all though. I think I may have just gotten a bad seed.
I learned more this second grow than the first grow. Mostly on training the plant and harvest times. Again, the plant yielded amazing but the quality was just not there. The next grow on deck is sure to blow the previous two out of the water. Banana Cake from In House Genetics and Lilac Bubba Cookies from Ethos Genetics.
Tamedfire, have you noticed your Mars adding any heat to your tent? a few degrees or nothing at all? And thanks for letting me know about the 100% power trick.
@mercerism, It adds about 4 degrees. Any light will add some heat to your grow tent. I removed the driver and placed it outside the tent and that has also helped keep the heat down.
