Ready for a new season of growing.
Mon- So far, I have an early popper that I am excited for, and two more that def looked like they were just cracking open. Moved all 4 to rapid rooters and a gentle lowest setting at furthest distance possible. Feeling good juju w this grow.
System up and running like a champ. Roots are reaching the water now, but the top flow has helped so much that I’m not gonna stop until I move out of this tub to the larger system. Little bump up in light this week. I’ll see how they do a few days and keep an eye on the water ppm. Had a build up of brown sediment this h2o change. And biofilm on the hoses. Full strength on the VooDooJuice and no GreatWhite till mid week. Happy little garden
The top feed micro tub on a chiller is def the way to go for early root growth. Cant be happier with the size and color of the roots I have. Everyone was getting crowded in the little bin, so I went ahead and finished the large system. Went together much easier this time around and the smaller black pipe is def large enough for back flow but small enough to keep water amounts reasonable. My foam jackets fit perfect, and I’ll just have to wait and see if it helps maintain the cooler temps. Not sure what I’m going to do with two left over. Maybe soil pots on the side, I’d hate to kill them off but my system is what it is.
Interesting week. Water changes are the worst part of this system and I’m going to invest in a bulkhead and pump just for this task. Here’s what’s going on in the tent. I Had to spread them out, so moved one to soil just see if I could. Growing has stalled but she didn’t roll over dead either. The two in the primary system are doing great except for an issue at the water line. There the roots turn colored and funky; above and Below that they are beautiful white. So I cut off everything that looked bad and went hard w the voodoo and hydroguard. The final plant is still in the starter pot, with double air but zero cold water. Just a top flow w room temp h2o. No root issues there yet, but she’s def falling behind her same age sister who gets the chiller. Girlies are def stinky with the light but seem to calm down after dark a bit. I need to start LST on the older of the two, but maybe I just let it run wild for another week. Happy grows.
Easy week so far. Soily is rocking along. Older sis got a trim to open up some of the low flowering sites, and star of the show Is cruising with no signs of slowing down. I finally got in some floraflex parts I wanted from the start, so I added the top flow back to the system. It probably won’t help this batch but will be awesome in the future. Happy grows
Tough week in garden. Did a water change Wednesday and added some myco+. By sat I had crazy ugly colors on my roots. Washed what I could. Removed what I had to and Did another full change Sunday. Keep the top flow on has given me the confidence that they’ll still get enough water and bounce back from the pruning. Soily continues to amaze me and show what the bare bones of the plant is about. She has decided to flower up earlier than the others. I went a head, added the rest of the potting soil I had on hand and upgraded her into a bigger bucket. Ya know, for science. Older sister has really gotten taller and bushy with Star of the show in full Hulk mode. Leaves are larger than my man hands at this point. I added a net to try and flatten out some of the canopy but I think it’s too late for older sisters main top. Another week in the books. Happy grows
Well. The issues that I had with root mass on older sister has def shown up at flowering. While Star of the show has flourished and is producing fat delicious buds covered in trichs, Older sister is struggling and really only making small popcorn balls. Even Soily has a pretty cola formed up and filling in. Just goes to show that it all begins and ends with the root mass. Really cranking up the food this week before the final turn to flushing. Maybe two weeks or three weeks out? Idk. Happy grows
What a week. Started out with maximum food around 1750ppm, adding freshwater daily it got down to the 850s before I added some sweetener today. Pretty sure it’s too late for that to show up in the final but since it arrived. Why not? Star of the Show is frosty and happy. I need to learn more about trimming autos, as a haircut could probably help the buds. The little bit of lsd I’ve done to older sister has put her on a funky clock. Certainly stressed multiple times this grow, this betch is still reaching for the sun and the bud / trichomes just look behind. Soily is hanging tough and has exceeded any expectations I might have had for the runt that should have died on off. I think it’s almost time to start flushing, but I really want to give older sis extra time so I may have a staggered harvest. Happy grows
