Here we are for Grow # 22 and for this one I went with something I liked so much, I felt it deserved another run, and that's FastBuds Original Auto Critical. When I grew it last time there wasn't a lot of information on it except for how long it was expected to grow and its basic genetics ( Indica or Sativa). After growing it though I found out how classic it was. I'm going to go for the same results but this time I want to have more dense buds. For those of you who aren't so familiar with the strain here's a brief description: she's a super reliable, highly resilient, and very easy to grow plant that boasts an impressive THC level close to 20%, with epic yields of easy to trim, citrus pine dense buds. Critical Auto is perfect for beginner growers and those who want abundant harvests of monster-sized yields in a short time. Fast Buds were able to enhance all the desired traits that make Critical so popular, resulting in a medium tall plant that performs incredibly well in hot climates. Despite her Indica dominance, Original Auto Critical is perfect for social scenarios and provoking creativity. The best choice for commercial growers and amazing for hash and extracts. Now before I get started with the germination process down below will be a list of the equipment I'll be using :
Hydro Planet 2x4x5 Grow Tent
1.67-Gallon Plastic Pot
Happy Frog Soil
Vivosun 300 watts Full Spectrum Grow Light
Vivosun 4" inch Exhaust Fan
Vivosun Carbon Filter
Vicks Cool Mist Humidifier
4 Desk Fans
Acurite Hygrometer
For the germination process, I went with my usual, of soaking the seed for 48- hrs before placing it in a moist paper towel that is then placed in a black container. I actually had to use a heating mat this time because I felt that the container wasn't staying warm enough. Once the seed had a taproot that was 1-2cm long the seed was placed into the soil.
I Officially started counting days on 12/12/2020. During the first few days, I just give the seedling a couple of mistings to help with the transition into the new humidity level. Then on Tuesday 12/15/2020 which is Day 4 I gave the plant 250 ml of plain water that had a ph of 6.29, then on Friday 12/18/2020, she received another 250ml of water with a ph 6.14.
I did notice during this first week that the water I was using had way too much chlorine in it and was starting to make some of my plants leaves look weird, so the way I fixed this issue was by boiling the water for 15-20 mins to remove the chlorine, then you let it cool off before giving it to your plants and there we are chlorine problem solved. I also went with a smaller pot, no reason specific just trying to see the results of downsizing pots when it comes to growing autos.
So far everything is well and I plan on keeping it that way, that's going to be all for this week, so until next week fellow growers and remember
"Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".
Here I am back for the Week 2 update on the Original Auto Critical and are still going great. This week she received a watering on Day 10 and on Day 13. Both times she was watered I made sure the top inch or two of the soil was dry. She is still only getting whatever nutrients that were in the soil still not giving her any nutrients yet, going to wait until later in Week 3 for that, because I noticed last time I grew this strain that it can be a little sensitive to nitrogen early on. Another thing that I noticed is that this time the Auto Critical had grown way faster than last time. In my previous grow she was only 2.5" inches tall in Week 2, this time she's already 6" inches tall, that's a 3.5" inch difference, and I'm thinking the light distance and pot size is playing a very important role in that, which is why I went to a smaller pot to try and figure out exactly what size pots are going to perfect for my plants and grow space to get a little more out of them.
Well guys that’s going to be all for this week. So, until next time fellow growers and remember ... "Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".
Back for another update and this time it's for the Original Auto Critical from FastBuds. Even though I changed the pot size from the last I grew this strain, I am really loving how she's taking off. So far she's only been given water, and the reason for that is because in my previous grow I learned that the strain doesn't like to be overfed and it's not a bit fan of the heat, so with me keeping both of them in check she's just been loving life, so much that she grew 10" inches this week, also over the course of this week she started to show sex which means the stretch is near. I should have put this diary up when I did the AK-49 Auto but I've been extremely busy, so busy that I even had to slip in before lights out to grab the photos that are above.
Well, ladies and Gent's that's going to be all for this week so until next time fellow growers and remember ... "Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".
Back for another diary update for my FastBuds Original Auto Critical and things are right on schedule. Last week she started showing her sex, and this week the pistils are starting to pop, she's also stretching like crazy, she grew 8.5" inches in the last 7-days making her 24.5" inches tall now. She also got her first nutrient feeding this week and responded very well as you can tell no burning or anything. So remember if your growing this strain start feeding nutrients in Week 4 to prevent any nutrient burn.
Now it's time for my favorite part of my diary... "S/O TIME"!!! This week's BIG THANK YOU goes to @ViparspectraJennie and @Newbie_01 who became a new follower of my page. And to all the many others it means a lot to me for you to take the time out of your day to show love, it is much appreciated.

It's been a wild and crazy week and my garden suffered from it a bit. I had a family emergency that required me to be away from my garden for 3 days and when I returned, my plants were literally dying of thirst. This one was so droopy it took her a whole 24-hours to fully recover after having a feeding. I was glad to wake up to a happy plant the next morning. I did some defoliation to some of the bottom leaves they were yellow and needed to go. Minus the lack of water she still grew 4" inches this week bringing her total height to 28.5" inches tall and counting.

Since last week, this lady is looking a whole lot better, in fact, she grew 3" inches this week making her 31.5" inches tall now and something tells me she's still growing. Her flower sites are starting to fill out pretty fast and are everywhere, making me think this plant is going to have a crazy yield. I thought by growing this strain in a smaller pot this time would make it smaller, but it seems I was wrong. Lol. She's been needing water every 1-2 days. On 01/21/2020 she was watered with 500 ml of water that had a ph. of 6.34, then again on 01/24/2020 she was given the same amount that also had a ph of 6.34. On 01/26/2020 she had a feeding and was given 500 ml of water containing 3 ml of Cal-Mag, 3 ml FloraMicro, 6 ml FloraBloom. With the amount of water she is given there is some runoff, which is great, so she doesn't get any salt build-up.

Back to give the report on the Fastbuds Original Auto Critical for Week 7, and this plant has officially become a monster. Lol. I mean last time I grew it she was a big girl too but this time she's already bigger than that. In fact, she's getting so big and heavy I had to bring in the wire to help hold her up at the base so she doesn't bend to the point of breaking. I did some light defoliation on her this week but it was basically leaves that were either dying from not enough light or from the lack of nitrogen since she's in flower. She's already giving off that wonderful smell that I remember oh so well. Besides the light defoliation and feeding and watering, I haven't had to do anything to this lady.

Back to give the report on the Fastbuds Original Auto Critical for Week 8. So far it's safe to say that she has officially stopped stretching and is focused on bud growth from this point on, she's been showing more and more trichomes as the days go by, and the smell is exactly how I remember from the last time I grew her. On 02/09 she was given a feeding that had a ph of 6.24, I removed the dead or dying leaves also this day. On 02/11 she was given a plain watering that had a ph of 6.34. I also moved the last 3 plants that are left in the tent around so they were more comfortable since I just chopped down the Crystal Candy XL Auto from Sweet Seeds.

Here we are to give the Week 9 update on the FastBuds Original Auto Critical, and things have been going great. This lady is basically near the end I estimate she has about 3 Weeks left if that the way she turns so quickly it could be sooner. On 2/19 she was giving a watering with a ph of 6.34, then on 2/22 she was given a feeding, normally I would do another watering before feeding but I went ahead and fed her along with the other two in the tent. I also did some trimming of the yellowing leaves that you see when your plant is getting near harvest. On 2/24 she received another watering along with me cleaning out the tent. The smell on this lady is out of control if she's removed from the tent she stinks up the whole house, and the trichomes on this strain are crazy, making the plant super frosty.

Another easy week with this lady, she's at the end so at this moment she's just gaining mass and getting sweet. since she's so close to being done she's only getting water at this time.

After lighting it up, there will be an immediate effect that is deeply relaxing. A balanced hybrid that will provoke creativity as well as a physical body effect that is both calming and serene. A great choice for social nights out, musicians, artists, gaming, or chilling with friends watching movies. Be warned that smoking too much can leave you in a dream state that can last for hours.
This is my second time growing this strain, but this time it came out perfect. Last time the buds turned out kind of airy but this time there were dense, so dense that I ended up with an 11.4-gram main cola (dry), that was a little over 4.5 inches long, my biggest yet. This strain is super sticky so expect it to stick to you like glue. It had the same wonderful taste that it had last time, which is unforgettable. During the grow cycle she grew fine even though I put her in a smaller pot, she did so good in the new pot I think I'm going to switch permanently to the smaller pots, she even had a better yield than last time too. FastBuds you really outdid yourself with this strain, and I want to say thank you again for the awesome genetics you guys are coming up with.
Well, that's going to be all for this grow guys, so until next time fellow growers and remember ..." Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".
@DeaneR, You really should they grow in half the time and despite what people say they are just as strong and heavy yielding as there counterparts. This Critical is one of the strongest I've every had.
Thanks for your mention my friend, but to tell the truth it's me who has to thank you. Following you and your diaries helps newbie like me to learn new information about new strain, techniques to use, nutrition plans and general setups... so... Thank you 😘
@Newbie_01, Well your more than welcome my friend, I just know we're all here to help, so that's what I try to do, and speaking of new strains I'll be doing some more testing for a few well-known breeders here soon. SO STAY TUNED IN !!! Lol.
