This is Blue Cheese from Dutch seed shop and I’m growing it for myself and for a medical marijuana patient. She requested the strain and gave me these seeds because they are good meds for her. They have come up strong and at this point I am just watering them with distilled water and after one week I switch my lighting to 100% from 50%
Two weeks from the time the seeds popped and they’re coming along quite nicely! Nodes are tight and I’m using just plain water pHed at 6.5. Lights are at 100%
For week three I transplanted them into their final homes which are 5 gallon pots. I didn’t notice it at the time but my pre-filter was dirty and it wasn’t sucking the hot air out of the tent like it should so my temps were high and the plants were growing slow.
Here at week four they started to grow much quicker and I began to LST at about 3 1/2 weeks. They are overall healthy and I have the temperature of the tent back down. I’m feeding them Foxfarm grow big and Cal Mag.
At week five these ladies are getting close to the flip to 12 hour darkness. There are lots of tops and they’re growing sideways like a carpet which I like. The plant in the corner it’s not blue cheese and that’s a mother plant of something else by the way.
A few days shy of six weeks and this is the first day of flower and I’m on a 12 hour light schedule. I’m happy with the way they are growing which is short and bushy for my short tent. The first time I water after the switch to 12 hours I always give them a good dose of flower nutrients and continue to keep up with the LST.
After one week of flower the plants are stretching nicely and beginning to really fill in my tent space. I continue with the LST and they are overall looking healthy
Two weeks after the flip and I’m beginning to notice the different phenotypes. The one on the left has thinner leaves and is a lighter green. I finally gave them their first dose of blackstrap molasses.
21 days into flower and the plants are developing nicely! The buds on the right plant are looking more mature and growing faster than the one on the left. Around the 21 day mark I always defoliate and these plants seem to defoliate perfectly, I always clear out the bottom branches and do a little bit of lollipop.
The buds are five weeks old and this is supposed to be an 8 to 9 week flowering strain. So now is the time I do back building which is snipping the tops of all the buds. You can see what I took off in the last two pictures
This Blue Cheese is starting to smell really strong at this point. The nights are cold in my basement and it’s really bringing out the blue in the plant, which I love to see. Makes the frost stand out more!
This is a really great strain to grow with no issues at all! One of the plants was lime green and the buds didn’t seem to mature as well And were not as dense as the darker plant was. Blue cheese is great for making edibles and eating them in the evening and for relaxing and also for a great night sleep. No complaints about blue cheese.
