This is my first soil grow. Initial observations are that the growth is a little slower. While I am ph-ing the water and adding a little calimag, it feels like a lot less work as I am not having to measure run off and mix up nutrients every day/few days.
Also, had some fruit flies not long after the start up. Used Captain Jack's Deadbug and moved on fly free in two days.
Early flowering. Watering once or twice a day. Let it dry a bit three times to avoid over watering. No added nutes so far. Only pH-ing the water and adding a little calimag. Plant looks great. Probably the healthiest I have grown, so far. The soil grow isn't as quick growing as hydro, but I have zero nute burn and it is less work. Very light LST with a slight bend in the main stalk and a lot of leaf shuffling and slight bending to get more colas on a more level canopy.
Keeping a closer eye on watering.
Plants seem to enjoy a day on day off cycle.
Leaves arent as shiney/waxy looking.
While the pistils are oranging up, I still think this plant has another couple of weeks before harvest
UVB light on for just an hour a day. Will up to 2 hours a day this weekend.
Getting close to harvest. Very weak smell. Buds slowly fattening. Over all grow looking good.
Checked trichomes. Now, nice and cloudy. UVB light on a couple of hours a day, just after mid-day.
This is a really lovely strain. The buds are not dense which I will put down to my growing, but the aroma is stupendous. Very fruity, as you might expect. The cloud is good, too. A little bright on the mind and not too heavy on the body. So, I wasn't cactus. I also made a nice tincture from the decarbed buds which made wonderful bulletproof coffee.
Looser nugs, but super frosty. Easy grow. Lovely aroma. Somewhat tropical, sweet, mint and light diesel. Great flavor vaping and packs a good punch on combustion.
