Bought two seeds, first one did not germinate. Started in soil, then transferred to a paper towel. It never opened up. Soil used is Batmix from Plagron (https://www.plagron.com/en/products/batmix) with peat, perlite, worm castings, Bat Guano and organic fertilizer.
True leaves appeared quickly. Leaves are not uniform in color, it looks like they are bright green with darker spots. Note that a few weeks later the problem apparently disappeared and leaves were growing all smooth and darker
New leaves still discolored but growing apparently correctly. Possible reasons:
- genetics (?)
- heavy fertilized soil - Batmix from Plagron was used (?)
Changed direction where the top was pulled to, it's now attached to the opposite side compared to last week. Largest branches also pulled to the sides with a thick wire
Some leaves are showing small brown spots. Around 5% leaves affected and all are close to each other. Can this be an infection? Otherwise plant looks healthy
Doesn't seem like any deficiency or toxicity probably just from water drops that got on the leaves while watering or drenching in foliar spray.
If this problem doesn't persists then there's nothing to worry about!

Switched to flowering lights (150W HPS) this week following signs of pre-flowering. Defoliated the bottom of the plant by removing the leaves which do not get much light. Growing in general seems to have slowed down, is not agressive as 1-2 weeks ago. Continuing LST by pulling the long branches to the sides of the grow tent to maximise the use of the little surface that is available. Would have done better with a larger tent, even for one plant.
Following nutrient schedule proposed by the nute manufacturer (General Hydroponics)
Flowering started on auto, switched light from MH to HPS 4 days ago. Same power, same ballast, different bulb vendor:
- 150W MH from Superplant at 5000 K
- 150W HPS MASTER SON-T APIA Plus from Philips at 1950 K
Flowering continues but leaves started to droop, plant looks sad
Same thing happens to me when I switched to my Blackdog. Different intensity she needs to get use to it.. I was told you should keep the distance a little further away for a few days as not to shock the plant. slowly move it close so she gets use to it
Second week of flowering, over a week under HPS. Plant does not grow in height anymore but the flowers are getting bulkier.
Leaves still (8 days in) drooped after switching to flowering light. Following advice I pulled the light away from the tops, no improvement seen yet.
Nutrient schedule still follows manufacturer's plan with one clear-water watering.
This week the plant continued to stretch reaching 55 cm. The tent is really feeling small both in height and width, the lamp is almost as high as it can get. I might have had done better with more pruning earlier, now I don't I don't want to stress too much this far into flowering. This week just removed some leaves and some branches without significant flowering from the bottom.
Right after switching to a HID light for flowering, the leaves started drooping badly. The plant has mostly recovered from that. Flowers are getting bigger, slowly growing trichomes on the leaves too.
Plant continues to grown, seeing more and more trichomes on the leaves. Seeing photos from other White Diesel Haze Automatic growers I was expecting more frosting. It's possible the light is too close to the top of the highest stems but I cannot move it any higher.
pH was high so I added some pH min from Plagron to the water.
Plagron pH min helping to lower the pH. Some leaves folding their edges upwards. Possible humidity problem? Afraid tops get too hot as they're really close to the light. Cannot lift higher
RH was hovering around 60% so I added a dehumidifier to put inside the tent. It barely fit but it helps. Still not seeing much frosting on the leaves, might be b/c too close to light? It's at its absolute maximum height. Will increase watering frequency, top leaves are brittle and break easily.
Flowering continues, not seeing trichomes darken or get cloudy yet. Bought a small dehumidifier and fit it inside the tent which helped manage the RH. Started removing some fan leaves every other day to give maximum light exposure to the buds. Also changed the watering schedule from to every other day instead of every two days.
Trichomes still clear, no signs of maturing. Have not yet seen one turn brown. Growing in height has stopped completely. Seeing slight light burn on tops but there's nothing I can do now. Certain leaves turning leathery.
Some leaves are dying off on the bottom, not more than 10 per week so not worried.
First grow, it's been a ride.
Big colas though with less frosting then expected. I observed some strange discoloration on the leaves at the beginning which normalized later. No major issues except for some bud rot at the end - I had the dehumidifier in but still was forced to amputate parts of colas in two instances.
