Week 10!
This is our first official week of flower!
New for this week, we'll be introducing bloom nutrients and we've changed our pH adjusters to a "natural" product that's meant to work better for living soil.
We don't plan to do much to the plants this week, as we want to minimize any stress while they transition to flower.
Day 64 (day 4 of flower):
- increased our main light intensity from 55% to 60%.
- plants are receiving between 22,000 - 26,000 LUX across canopy.
Day 65 (day 5 of flower):
- Plant #1 is starting to stretch. Plant #2 has not yet shown much stretching.
- Plant #2 feeling a bit more dry (by pot weight) but we'll wait until tomorrow to water.
Day 66 (day 6 of flower):
- watered Plant #2 only, with dechlorinated tap water with:
.5ml/L of BioBizz's "Bio-Grow", "Bio-Bloom" & "Top-Max",
1ml/L of "Acti-Vera",
.5ml/L of Remo Nutrients' "Velokelp"
.25ml/L of General Hydronics' "CALiMAGic"
- This resulted in a 430ppm nutrient solution, pH adjusted to 6.4.
- Runoff levels for Plant #2 were 2430ppm & a pH of 6.7. We might like to see the pH a tiny bit lower and normally, when not growing with organic nutrients, we'd consider 2400ppm to be very high... but we've been told that it's not uncommon to have runoff ppm's between 2-3,000 with organics in soil. We didn't bother to flush additional water through the pot, watering until approximately 2-3L of runoff was collected.
Day 67 (day 7 of flower):
- no changes
- Temp: 69-79F; RH: 56-62%
Day 68 (day 8 of flower):
- defoliated small side branches from Plant #1
- increased light intensity from 60% to 65%
Day 69 (day 9 of flower):
- watered Plant #1 with dechlorinated tap water mixed with:
1ml/L of BioBizz's "Acti-vera",
.5ml/L of BioBizz's "Bio-Grow", "Bio-Bloom" & "Top-Max",
.5ml/L of Remo Nutrients' "VeloKelp" and
.25ml/L of General Hydroponics' "CALiMAGic".
This resulted in a 280ppm solution, pH 6.5.
- watered to runoff. Runoff tests came back at 1,950ppm, pH 6.7.
Day 70 (day 10 of flower):
- no changes
@timbarin, so far we've only used it the one day, for about 2-3hrs during the warmest part of the afternoon. When the outside temps are above 10C, and with our light at 90% intensity, the tent would reach 84F, instead of the 78F that we're aiming for.
@MrHightimes, Ya, it's kind of weird because for the first few months that we had that pH meter, it needed calibration almost every week! We never knew if we could trust it... but since then, it seems to have stabilized and we haven't had to calibrate it for months. We check it with pH reference solution every few weeks and it's been spot on. We'd love to upgrade to the Blue Labs meter but it isn't necessary quite yet. The only complaint that we might have is that it takes a couple of minutes to get a true reading, whereas the TDS meter we have gives you accurate readings in just seconds.
nice grows! can you tell me how satisfied you are with the AC INFINITI T6? have you used other brands and how dos it compare? I am eyeing one now for the controls set up features, does it clear humidity? heat? and how quiet is it?
thank you for your feedback!
@Stonyways, Hi, we've been really happy with the Cloudline T6 fan. It works very well and has programmable settings. We currently have it set to turn on any time the temperature reaches 81F or any time the humidity exceeds 61%. We're glad we got the 6" version instead of the 4" version, since we can run the fan at lower speeds, which means it's very quiet. It's actually much quieter than our little oscillating fan! It's quite powerful and has no problem managing heat and humidity in our little tent. I think you could easily put this in a 4x4 or 6x6 tent and it would work just as well.
As the female half of "VanCplGrows", i don't have a lot of experience with other fans so i can't really compare it to anything but it does everything that we want and it does it well!
@timbarin, Thanks brother! We're a bit slow with our replies this week but we are happy to be back and happy to have ya following along on our latest grow. Cheers!
@Beachbudz, Absolutely! They may not be the biggest plants for 14 weeks but it's been a great learning process and we sort of prefer the leisurely schedule compared to the autoflowers we were growing before... which always seemed like a race against time, especially if you run into any problems like deficiencies or other. This has been a very comfortable grow for us. 👍
