After I ran into (read: caused) some critical problems with my last grow I took some of the lessons I learned and am already back with my nose to the grindstone.
I've made a few changes to my setup, namely I decided to switch to using seperate buckets instead of the combined tote for a number of reasons; Less risk of TPK from shared issues, less wasted nutes, higher air/water ratio, easier to inspect the plants, the whole nine yards.
I also went and decided to upgrade from the SF1000 to the SF2000, because I could, so there.
These are the last of the Green Crack seeds I got from a localish seed bank, this time I started the germ by soaking them for 24hrs in a glass of water and then transferring them to the paper towel method, were they only spent a grand total of two days in before they were already shooting out tap roots and I moved them to the Rockwool (with a dash of Great White) and into the lot new homes today.
And I definitely learned a lesson from last time in regards to my feeding, they're just on straight tap water here until they pop and get past their baby leaves. Learned my lesson about lockout the last time.
I got kind of side tracked about updating here, but I've got some decent looking little plants here.
These two are I'm my opinion better looking with better roots than what the previous attempt was at at this point so that's a definite bonus.
So I kind of fucked up last week (shocker) and I shocked them and put them into some kind of lockout situation, but I managed to get things cleaned up and stabilized and still have a good root mass and they're still perky.
As long as this week goes well I'm gonna start topping and maybe training next week!
So I noticed that my temps and everything seemed a little off so I rigged up a climate control system with an active intake into the box. Looking good so far!
So plants are continuing to love the climate control system so big score there.
I wasn't sure initially what the discoloration was coming from, but upon consulting with the sages it seems to be a Mg deficiency so I've doubled the Cal-Mag and also increased the Grow. Will definitely be keeping an eye on it.
The new shoots from the topping last week are already coming in and I'm gonna start LST when I get some time over the weekend.
Oof, this hydro stuff is rough when you're new. Ran into some kind of ph issues last week which I seem to have cleared up going into this week, they were looking much rougher than they are now.
I've upped the calmag because I'm still seeing issues there, but that could be related to the ph but I don't think it will hurt.
I've undid the LST for now just in case that was too much as well, gonna let the ladies breathe and recover.
Haven't updated in a while. Kind of hard to get the willpower to update when things aren't going well.
I had had some severe ph and root slime issues that I feel like I'm only now on the other side of, but it looks like things are going better now.
I recently switched from buying jugs of distilled to getting my own small r/o setup and I think that may have been a large part of my previous issues as the PH on distilled seems to be faaaaar more swingy.
Haven't been updating this thing as much as I should be but boy oh boy are these ladies finally coming around on me!
I might not have the exact week correct but this is the end of week 3 of flower. I have defoliated almost all of the fan leaves and we have some major trichome development happening!
Coming up on third base! Starting to get cloudy and amber trichomes on the sugar leaves, the buds shouldn't be too far behind!
The smell is amazing and getting some really good colour! I can't wait!
I think this is going to be the last feeding. Bud is looking good, smell is awesome, and I'm at about 2-3% Amber trichomes, so my plan is to let them go one more week, flush for a few days over the weekend, wet chop and into half oz jars. I'm expecting somewhere in the ballpark of 4 oz.
Flushed!
Chopped!!
Hung out to dry!!!
See you folks in a couple weeks for the final report card!!!
It smelled so good to chop and it was sooooo sticky!
Had some ups and a lot of downs with this grow but in the end I think I got a solid result and learned some lessons to take forward to the next time! Can't wait!
