The seeds were soaked in reverse osmosis water for 24 hours. After 24 hours they both had sprouted a tail about 1mm long. I then transferred the sprouts to solo cups (Dec. 7, 2020) filled with pure coco coir, buried them about 5mm, and gently watered them in with R.O. water. On December 12, 2020, both seeds had broken the surface and were showing their first set of true leaves.
These seeds are my first attempt at making seeds. I rooted a cutting from the plant in my Mango Sapphire Mainline diary. I then made my own colloidal silver solution to apply to this plant. I managed to get it to produce pollen (not an easy task, it didn't produce much) which I then applied to a rooted cutting (in flower) I had taken from the plant in my White Sugar OG Mainline diary. Both plants are feminized (and super frosty 😍), so I'm hopeful these seeds will turn out to be females and remain stable through the flowering cycle.
I made these seeds to learn and have fun....so, let's see what happens!

I'm guilty of neglect😫. These poor girls were placed on a shelf, 2" under t8 fluorescent bulbs (18 hour days), in a cold room, with low humidity. They were further abused by a oscillating floor fan for the last month. They haven't been fed yet, only watered, and are showing signs of nutritional problems and are pale green.
Tomorrow, these plants get a fresh start. In a tent 82F, 65-70% R.H., and 300W of LED light. Time to get these girls growing right.

VEG WEEK 5
My Base Nutrient Inputs:
I will be using a powdered nutrient 5-12-25 by MasterBlend, plus Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulfate), and Calcium Nitrate. This is essentially the Jack's 3-2-1 method ( for those of you who are familiar with it ), except I'm using MasterBlend, a more readily available manufacturer in Canada. I mixed up two concentrated stock solutions to make a Part A and Part B (see photo above), for fast, easy mixing. The formula is 3 parts MasterBlend, 2.08 parts Calcium Nitrate, and 1 part Epsom Salt, all measured by weight.
To Make Part A - Start with a 4 Liter bottle of distilled water. Remove about 2 liters and set aside. Mix in 720 grams of MasterBlend and stir until fully dissolved. Then mix in 240 grams of Epsom Salt (magnesium sulfate) and stir until fully dissolved. Now add back enough distilled water, that was set aside earlier, to make 4 liters of stock solution. Store in a cool, dark place.
To Make Part B - Start with a 4 Liter bottle of distilled water. Remove about 2 liters and set aside. Mix in 500 grams of Calcium Nitrate and stir until fully dissolved. Now add back enough distilled water, that was set aside earlier, to make 4 liters of stock solution. Store in a cool, dark place.
Part A gets mixed into the water first, followed by part B. Equal amounts of Part A and Part B are used. These stock solutions will make several hundred gallons ( depending on your dosage strength ) of mixed nutrients, inexpensively.
This was a busy week getting these girl's on track. I focused on getting their environment dialed in to a VPD of 1.0kPa. They were up-potted from solo cups to 3.0 quart / 2.84 L plastic pots and watered in well as noted above. I used 100% Canna coco with diatomaceous earth mixed in and Great White sprinkled in the hole and on the root-ball. Looking at the roots, they were slightly over watered (still trying to dial back my watering😩, I'll get it right eventually, lol), but ready for transplant. 5 Days after transplant, new roots are poking out the drainage holes, and vegetative growth is going strong. On the final day of the week (Sunday) these girls were named Laverne & Shirley (damn...now I have to remember how to spell Laverne for the rest of this diary😀). They were topped in preperation for flux training (variation of Main-lining) . Both ladies were topped just below the 5th node (leaf growth pattern - node 1 single finger leaves, node 2 triples, node 3&4 five finger leaves). I leave the stem long, as I find it shrinks back and forms a strong junction point. For Laverne I pruned off the cotyledon (seed leaves) and the 1st node leaves (first true leaves) leaving her with nodes 2, 3 , and 4. I plan to flux Laverne to 12 main cola sites. For Shirley I pruned off the cotyledon (seed leaves) and the 1st and 2nd node leaves (true leaves) leaving her with nodes 3 , and 4. I plan to flux Shirley to 8 main cola sites. Next week the training begins.

This week (Monday to Sunday) I focused on starting Laverne and Shirley's training and shaping. So far, so good....no broken stems🙏. I plan to flux Laverne to 12 main cola sites in the shape of a hexagon (six sided, two colas per side). I plan to flux Shirley to 8 main cola sites in a somewhat square pattern with two colas per side.
These girl's were fed 1/4 gallon each on Monday and a 1/2 gallon each on Thursday, mixed with nutrients as listed above.

VEG WEEK 7
My Base Nutrient Inputs: See VEG WEEK 6 for details of stock solutions A & B.
My grow weeks run from Monday to Sunday, and I was side tracked with home renovations, leaving the girls to grow till the weekend . On Saturday I performed some training, defoliation, and topping on the girls. Their upper branches became very stiff as they had thickened up, and were resistant to me bending them back down. I spent awhile performing "plant yoga", gently bending the branches back and forth before pinning them down with wires. This was a good reminder to keep training daily when young and pliable before they get a chance to thicken and stiffen up. The majority of the training is now done, as Shirley is set-up for 8 main cola sites, and Laverne has 12 sites. Now, it becomes a matter of moving and spacing the colas.
These girl's were fed 1/2 gallon each on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, mixed with nutrients as listed above.
Time to give these girls some new shoes.

VEG WEEK 8
My Base Nutrient Inputs: See VEG WEEK 6 for details of stock solutions A & B.
My grow weeks run from Monday to Sunday.
This week the goal was to get the girls into their final 7 Gallon / 27L fabric pots. I had a couple of Canna Coco bricks and a 107L Bag of Pro-Mix HP on hand, and decided to do a mix of the two.
I made an effort to kill anything in these medias by applying heat.
The Pro-Mix HP was bone dry, and I rehydrated (4 Gallons of media) with a hand pump sprayer and alot of mixing to evenly dampen the Pro-Mix. I then placed the media into 4, 1 Gallon Ziploc freezer bags, and microwaved them, one at a time, on high for 1 minute per side, flipping over after each minute. I cooked each bag (under close supervision) for a total of 4 minutes. The bags came out steaming hot and required some oven mitts to handle. The Coco bricks were then expanded with boiling water and covered to steam till cooled. That should kill any critters😈.
One of the coco bricks was mixed with the four gallons of Pro-Mix HP. This mixture was split in half and put into the bottom of each 7 Gallon pot. The remainder of the pot was topped off with pure coco (about 2 Gallons each) to form a top layer that will dry up faster and hopefully lead to less fungus gnats. Speaking of Fungus Gnats, while potting up these girls, an adult flew past my face out of nowhere.
I hadn't seen a gnat in over a month😡. My Ninja Gnat killing reflexes took that sucker out mid flight!
The girls were then each watered in with 3/4 Gallon of R.O. water plus 350ppm of Cal-Mag Plus.
The girls were left to grow and settle into their new homes for the rest of the week.
On Saturday they were watered with 1 Gallon each as listed above, and pH'd down to 5.7.
So far I'm really happy with these seeds! Time for some more LST next week.

VEG WEEK 9
My Base Nutrient Inputs: See VEG WEEK 6 for details of stock solutions A & B.
My grow weeks run from Monday to Sunday.
This week the goal was to get the girls into their trellis.
I used some light gauge fencing I had left over, from last summers' outdoor garden. This wire fencing was purchased from Home Depot, and comes in 2"X4" squares, in a 4 ft. X 50 ft. roll. I cut and formed this fencing to suit my needs. Picture 9 shows how I formed the spikes that grip into the pots media, and will provide a solid base to support these girls. This setup should allow for easy removal of the girls from the tent for inspection and maintenance.
I plan to grow, space, and attach each stem to the outside of this structure. Likely another week or two of vegetative growth before the flip to 12/12 light schedule.
The girls were watered on Thursday and Saturday with 1 gallon each as specified above. These plants have been real receptive to bending and training👍, and produce a nice stem rub scent when handled.

VEG WEEK 10
My Base Nutrient Inputs: See VEG WEEK 6 for details of stock solutions A & B.
My grow weeks run from Monday to Sunday.
This week the goal was to let the girls grow, space the tops around the trellis, and attach each stem to the outside of this structure.
Tuesday - Watering Day - 1 gallon each as described above.
Friday - Watering Day - The pots are very light. Laverne is quite thirsty in pic # 10 - 2 gallons each as described above.
Friday - Pruning Day - Pinched out all the new grow at each fan leaf. The goal is a single stalk with no side branching. Also removed some lower Fan leaves and a few select others.
Unfortunately, Laverne lost a top. Not sure how, but I snapped it😡, and it dangled by a little of the outer stem tissue. I quickly reached for some tape to administer first-aid, which has worked for me in the past. Sadly, a few days later, it was evident (pic # 16), she wasn't going to make it.
Sunday - Training and Trim Day - Laverne is now down to 11 tops and my plants symmetry is shattered. I pushed the broken limb aside, to make room to realign the neighboring branches. I'm leaving this broken branch on the plant for now (pic #17), in an attempt to keep the other branch, on the same main stalk from dominating the plant. The remaining branch (pic #18&19) is already growing much faster and needed some serious twisting to bring it to the level of the rest of the plant. I managed to get Laverne symmetrical again, and leveled out the tops with some wire work. Shirley was also wired down to a symmetrical, level canopy, without any drama.
Laverne is now 10 inches tall, and Shirley is 12 inches. It seems I named them backwards, lol. Laverne received a 2 inch booster seat under her pot to bring her canopy level with her buddy. Their canopy tops are 30 inches from the Electric Sky ES 300 V1 light.
Shirley has shown herself to be a female (pic #24), while Laverne has not shown sex (no concern, as these seeds I made should be feminized). I see some tip burn, and need to dial back my nutrients a tad. I also am working on eliminating the purple on the top side of the petioles (not too worried about it as the plant is growing and appears healthy otherwise). My base nutrients contain calcium and magnesium, plus I add Cal-Mag +, so not sure why. It is funny that the purple is only on the top side of the petioles, and makes me wonder if this is caused somehow by LED lighting. If anyone knows, please share😀.
I plan on another week, maybe two, of vegetative growth. The mother(s), that I made these seeds from only stretched about 12-14 inches. I'll flip to 12/12 light schedule when the stems reach the height of the top of the trellis. With the stems supported, and some luck, these girls, will be set-up for smooth flowering.
The video was taken Sunday morning, before training and trimming.

VEG WEEK 11
My Base Nutrient Inputs: See VEG WEEK 6 for details of stock solutions A & B.
My grow weeks run from Monday to Sunday.
This week, the goal was to continue to let the girls grow, and prepare them to go to flower next week.
Monday - Watering Day - 3 gallons each as described above. About 1 Gallon of runoff each @ 5.7 pH and 1900ppm😲
Friday - Watering Day - 2 gallon each (1ml Si +5mLC/M + 7.5mL A + 7.5mL B)/Gallon = 5.8 pH 650ppm
Saturday - Watering Day - 2 Gallon flush each of water @ 6.0pH and 70ppm. Runoff measured @ 5.7 pH and 1500ppm.
These girls grew strong this week (about 4 inches), are smelling great already (fire up the carbon filter), and are filling in nicely.
Time to flip to 12/12 light schedule on Monday and get these girls flowering!😀

VEG WEEK 12
My Base Nutrient Inputs: See VEG WEEK 6 for details of stock solutions A & B.
My grow weeks run from Monday to Sunday.
This week the tent was flipped to a 12/12 light schedule. Despite a full week of 12 hour days, very few pistils have formed. This was exactly what the mother(s), I made these seeds from did. Once again I shall call this a vegetative grow week. Next week will be labelled as Flowering.
The stretch is ON! The girls grew about an inch per day this week. Laverne grew from 14 to 21 inches this week, and Shirley from 16 to 24 inches tall.
I raised the Electric Sky 300 ( Version 1, no dimmer 100% power!!) LED 3 inches on Wednesday and two more on Friday.
Wednesday - Watering Day - 3 Gallon flush each of water @ 6.0 pH and 130 ppm. Laverne's runoff measured 5.7 pH and 1000 ppm, while Shirley's runoff was 6.0 pH and 680 ppm.
Wednesday - Watered in 1 final Gallon for each girl of R.O. with a teaspoon (5 mL) of ReCharge.
Friday - Watering Day - 2 gallons each (1ml Si +3mLC/M + 10mL A + 10mL B + 4mL AstroFlower)/Gallon = 6.0 pH and 760 ppm. Runoff - Laverne 6.2 pH 600 ppm, Shirley 6.1 pH 620 ppm.
These girls are growing real strong, and I'm getting excited to see them flower😍!

My grow weeks run from Monday to Sunday.
....and so it begins... Flower Time!!! These girls are finally spitting out some pistils.
The stretch is ON! The girls grew about an inch per day again this week. Laverne grew from 21 to 28 inches this week, and Shirley from 24 to 33 inches tall.
I raised the Electric Sky 300 ( Version 1, no dimmer 100% power!!) LED 2 inches on Wednesday, 3 inches on Friday, and 1 inch on Saturday.
Monday 2am - Watering Day - 2 Gallons each of water and nutrients as listed above. Laverne's runoff measured 5.9 pH and 1000 ppm, while Shirley's runoff was 5.8 pH and 880 ppm.
Wednesday 2am - Watered in 3 Gallons for each girl with nutrients as listed above, but dilluted down to 720ppm @ 5.7 pH
Friday 1am - Watering Day - 2 gallons each (1ml Si +3mLC/M + 10mL A + 10mL B)/Gallon = 5.7 pH and 640 ppm. Runoff - Laverne 5.8 pH 1600 ppm, Shirley 5.8 pH 1500 ppm.
Saturday 10pm - Watered in 2 Gallons tap water for each girl + 10 mL Cal-Mag = 400ppm @ 5.9 pH. Runoff - Laverne 6.0 pH 1130 ppm, Shirley 6.0 pH 1270 ppm.
The girls are growing strong, and I'm hoping these seeds take on their mother(s) ( Mango Sapphire X White Sugar OG) traits and produce some really frosty buds.

FLOWER WEEK 2
My Base Nutrient Inputs: See VEG WEEK 6 for details of stock solutions A & B.
My grow weeks run from Monday to Sunday.
Great progress this week....I'm real happy with the growth this week.
The stretch continues! Laverne grew from 28 to 33 inches this week, and Shirley from 33 to 37 inches tall.
I raised the Electric Sky 300 ( Version 1, no dimmer 100% power!!) LED, 2 inches on Monday, 1 inch on Tuesday, and 1 inch on Thursday and Friday.
Tuesday 8pm - Watering Day - 2 Gallons each of water and nutrients as listed above.
Thursday 8pm - Watered in 3 Gallons for each (5mL C/M + 5mL A + 5mL B + 5mL Astro)/Gallon = 620 ppm @ 5.5 pH. Laverne's runoff measured 5.8 pH and 1700 ppm, while Shirley's runoff was 5.6 pH and 1580 ppm.
Saturday 9pm - Watered in 2 Gallons for each girl (5mL C/M + 5mL A + 5mL B + 5mL Astro)/Gallon = 620 ppm @ 5.8 pH. Runoff - Laverne 5.8 pH 1480 ppm, Shirley 5.7 pH 1470 ppm.
Looks like these buds should stack well, and I like the spacing. Also decent trichome production starting. The buds have a floral perfume smell at this point.

FLOWER WEEK 7
My Base Nutrient Inputs: See VEG WEEK 6 for details of stock solutions A & B.
My grow weeks run from Monday to Sunday.
Wednesday - 8 pm Watered ~2.25 gallons each plant (20mL A + 20mL B + 20mL Astroflower + 20mL Nature's Candy)/ 4.5 Gallons of R.O. Water = 520 ppm @6.0 pH, 68F.
Friday - 9 pm Watered ~2.25 gallons each (20mL A + 20mL B + 20mL Astroflower + 20mL Nature's Candy)/ 4.5 Gallons of R.O. Water = 520 ppm @5.9 pH, 66F. Runoff - Laverne 1100ppm @5.8 pH. Runoff - Shirley 910 ppm @5.9 pH.
I lowered the light to 16" this week, and dropped night time temperatures to 68-70F. Shirley has started her leaf senescence, and is displaying some dark purplish hues. Laverne is taking her time, and is just showing a slight fade to a lighter shade of green. The girl's are consuming less water this week. The lower night temperatures has contributed to less evaporation from the fabric pots.
