Emailed the manufacturer of these wicking planters and they recommended starting out with top watering for the first week or two before switching over to the lower reservoir. So far so good
Day 7
Slow starts all around
RH has been just shy of 60 and temps have been 65-70 during lights out. I'm gonna work on getting the humidity up and slowly switch these over to 24 hour light by the end of week 2
Increasing the humidity seemed to help jumpstart growth. At the end of week two, the first sets of five fingered leaves have formed and there's growth at the lower nodes.
Two big changes from week 1:
Light schedule changed to 24/0 to help control climate
Light intensity was significantly reduced after purchasing a lux meter and reading up on DLI
Plants/soil/nutes
Finished up week 3 by topping each plant just above the fourth node. 2/3 have responded well to the light nutrients, the other has a case of drooping leaves that first showed up when the soil was just ready to be watered (dry about 3/4" deep) unfortunately they didn't bounce back after watering.. but the undergrowth is shooting up so I went ahead and did a little leaf tucking.
Wondering if the soil temp is dropping too low at night, or if it's nutes, or the change in light.. so many variables, so much fun
Lights
Continuing on with increasing DLI every couple days, I finished week three at 16K lux and a DLI of around 20. Adjusting the driver is a bit of a pita, but I'll probably be increasing the wattage and raising the light back up a bit this week
Environment
Switching to a 24/0 light schedule has really helped control the climate, although RH and temp are both a little on the low side at 45-50 and 71
*Edit D22
/InsertFacePalm switched my AC infinity cloudline over from the lowest setting to auto mode and locked in the tent climate at 70° and 55RH
Was hoping for a little more growth this past week, but they're yet to go into full on flower mode and all three are looking fairly healthy.
Found a couple damp spots on some overlapping leaves while I was tucking away the big fan leaves, figured it was probably time to drop the humidity and get some more airflow throughout the canopy
Lux has been increased to 21k and DLI is up to 26

Started LST on one plant
One plant started clawing and showed signs of being overwatered on D29. I emptied the reservoir and it was looking better the next day. Not sure if too many nutes, or that plant just wasn't ready to be watered from the bottom. Update D31 soil is dry and she's not looking great. Watering from the bottom showed no improvement. D34 water from the top, still ugly
D35, head scratching continues on the one plant, started LST on another, defoliated lower leaves
*They're all starting to flower
Lux ~ 24k
Ppfd ~ 350
DLI ~ 30
Sad week as I lost one of the ladies to overwatering. Didn't think I could do that with these wicking planters, I was definitely wrong. The 'finger test' that was so reliable for me in fabric pots is a no go with these bucket. Thankfully, a $10 water meter has saved me from taking the other two plants down the same road. 10-12" below the surface the soil is plenty moist and the roots have no trouble pulling it up
Still mourning the loss of my third plant, but the second week of flower is off to a great start. Still adjusting to these buckets (watering less than I was used to with the fabric pots)
Top dressed with some recharged soil and gave them a light top watering, leaves perked up and darkened within a day.. thinking that an occasional top watering will make a nice difference
