Got a few things online recently and was able to put together a seed popping/ early veg tent. It’s a propagation dome with a heat mat and a single T5 light above it. I planted 7 seeds in the root riot plugs and 7 seeds shot up. I filled up a 16oz bottle of distilled water and 3 milliliters of clone-x solution and soaked all the cubes with it. Now to see if I can keep them from dying. They will probably stay in the dome a few days then I’ll remove it.
Germination was awesome this go around. Never had 100 percent success rate until now. I say that and next go around not gonna be as good lol. They are doing good so far. They started to get a bit leggy so I decided to go ahead and transplant them from the root riot cube test into solo cups. My medium this grow is going to be Foxfarm’s Happy Frog for veg and the Ocean Forest for flower. One of the seedlings leaves look a little rough so gonna watch that one. Think I’m only gonna grow 6 of the 7 so the weakest one is getting kicked off the mountain anyway. The T5 light seems to be working just fine for them. Got a timer for the Mars Hydro Ts1000 on the way with a small oscillating fan in tow as well. Going to order another Inkbird humidity controller and put a humidifier in there with them. It’s winter here so the air in the house is dry.
With the new technique I’ve come across growing is kinda uneventful. I watered once with ph 6.3 and a little mikos. I swapped out the T5 light and put the Mars Hydro TS1000 in at the top of the tent. Added a small fan to get the air moving in the tent to get the stems shaking. Not to sure about adding the humidifier due to space. Guess I gotta keep an eye on it. The tent is only a 2 by 2 so not a lot of space to add things. The plants look fine. There was one I wasn’t sure about but it looks to be coming around.
They are starting to really take off. Watering once a week. I add clonex seedling solution,superthrive,cal-mag, and micos. They appear to be doing good and are probably getting transplanted in a couple days. Waiting for another node or two before starting to top.
The solo cups were starting to dry out very fast so transplanting was necessary. I moved them from the solo cup into 1 gallon fabric pots. Topped them once I put them into the fabric pots. I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep them in this tent for another 2 weeks being that they are growing really fast. I told myself I was only going to do 6 plants and I’d get rid of the worst performing one but I can’t bring myself to do it. Once I transplanted I watered to run off with only ph water and cal-mag. The side branches popping out are looking good. Might just impress myself with this grow.
These gals are growing perfectly so far. I topped last week and topped again this week. I’m trying to top right now to control the growth rate. I’m not sure why I thought a 2 by 2 would be big enough but I’m looking at a 2 by 3 tent for the next run. I’ve got two weeks to go before I’m able to put them in the flower tent. Still trying to get the hang of it. I haven’t given them any nutrients it’s just been water and cal mag. By the time my watering schedule says to feed I’ll be transplanting them into the 3 gallon pot with new soil so it’ll reset the water/feed schedule.
They are overgrown for the tent size. I really thought a 2 by 2 tent would be enough. I was wrong. I had to remove the fan on the ground and am only using the booster fan up top to transfer air. I just gave them the first feeding of liquid nutrients. Using a 3 part nutrient for the first time ever so I’ll see how that goes. I’ve only used organic dry amendments up until now. I need to top them one more time before I flip them to flower. Will probably do it next week. I wanna get the tops to stretch a little bit so I can take them for clones. But there are plenty of side branches that will never make it to the canopy that I can take for clones as well. It’ll be my first time doing clones to. Dam I love growing cannabis.
Got the girls transplanted into the 3 gallon fabric pots and switched into the flowering tent. It’s over half full now but it should be alright. It’s my first grow using FoxFarm soil and I’m not sure if I like it better then coco. Actually I know I don’t. Running into nutrient deficiencies that I didn’t on my last run of BlueDream. Might try the CoCo LoCo the next run with Down To Earth dry amendments. Put up the trellis net and put a tower fan in there. Fingers crossed for a good yield.
1st week of flower down. Noticed a little stretch but not as much as I was looking for yet. Still got another 2 weeks to get there and hopefully I’m able to fill the canopy completely. I added dry amendments to the soil before I transplanted and they seem fine. Getting a lot better about staying out of the tent.
Stretch is going great and the tent is almost 100 percent full. Wall to wall canopy was the goal and I almost got it. Soon the adjust the wattage output of the light. Running my light on a progressive schedule has definitely been a game changer. No problems when you put the light at the top of the tent. Really looking forward to the outcome of the grow.
The end of the week 3 stretch. Wow. This is by far everything I was hoping for in a filled out canopy. It is literally walk to wall for my first time ever. When watering I add a little flower fuel and cal-mag. This week I added some black strap molasses as well. Turned my Mars Hydro SP3000 to 75 percent. Now fingers crossed I start getting some really fat dense buds going. Huge shout out to Welcome To the GrowTent. His videos have been a game changer for me.
The stretch is done. The girls are looking really happy at the moment so all is good. Added a dehumidifier in the tent hoping for better bud density. The bud sites are starting to fill out. By far my best run yet. Started using botanicare sweet instead of the cal-mag. Have read that after week three the girls want the mag sulfur and not the calcium. Started using a full scoop of the flower fuel into my watering and am watering about a gallon per plant once a week. Every day I go in the tent and watch for any fan leaves blocking bud sites and remove them and any lower growth where I lollipoped that comes back. Other then that I leave them the “F” alone. Contemplating getting a female “model” for the photos of the plants to boost my views. Resumes can be sent to my email lol
Turned the light all the way up to 100 percent this week. The girls are starting to fill in nicely. No noticeable nutrient deficiency as of yet. I think adding the dry amendments to the soil is going to help with that. I am still only watering once a week with adding the flower fuel and botinacare sweet, also added black strap molasses and the micos. Not looking forward to the twice a week watering that starts at the end. The girl in the far back right of the tent is definitely the over achiever this round. I added a dehumidifier in the tent in hopes that it will help with bud density. The trichombs are starting to frost up on the leaves. Now it’s time for the girls to start packing on the weight. This strain is amazing. I took clones from them before flipping them to flower just to keep a perpetual harvest going. Took 10 and 7 came through so not to bad. Blue Dream really helps with body aches and pains and is a great night time high. One bowl and it’s nightie night lol. I really really like using a scrog net. It’s extremely helpful with canopy control. I didn’t think my third grow would go this well but I’m thankful it has.
This was a really great strain to grow. I think I could have gotten the yield higher had I lollipoped the bottom better. Ended up with a lot of larfy bottom stuff that wasn’t worth trimming. Very sticky with great tricomb production. Luckily I got a few clones to run the grow back and try to beat this yield.
